> I am going to reply before I what other people have said. This is what I believe.
>
> I believe that there is a God. He lives in a place called Heaven (unseen). I believe the term “God” is actually a form of government. Much like the US Government is executive, judicial, and legleslative. God is Father, Son, Spirit. Man is Soul, spirit, body. I believe that Jesus was God in man form. Meaning he encompassed the entire form of the government in one person. In the Bible it says that he was born with the government on his shoulders. He is also said to have the highest name and to be King. These are all political terms.
>
> I believe the Bible is the closest thing that we have to the Truth without having Jesus here on Earth to say what is true and what is not. Therefore I do not dispute it. I do however realize that it was put together in the second century by a group of men in a meeting. I can only hope that they had some divine inspiration as to what should and shouldn’t be included.
>
> I also believe that God having created everything and ruling over Heaven decided to create our Universe and our planet for his enjoyment and put man here to rule in his place as a Regent King. I believe that Adam had full authority on Earth and that the fruit that he and Eve ate had nothing to do with anything, but the act of eating the fruit was the problem. Up until that point Man had never disobeyed God. When he ate the fruit he rebelled. The term sin means to rebel. In rebelling Adam was kicked out of The Garden of Eden (the Embassy on Earth) and lost his title and authority. Jesus was born to be King on Earth because only Man has authority to rule Earth. His gift was to be punished for our rebellion and to restore The Kingdom of Heaven on earth. This can be seen in his very first message “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is near”. By repenting, or changing our minds, and submitting to him as King and therefore doing his will we become restored citizens of the Kingdom.
>
> The Bible is the constitution and history of The Kingdom on Earth. It tells us how to behave, what the culture is like, what the laws are, and how to petition the government and the King.
>
> Now I will read what everyone else has to say.

From the Catholic point of view.

Most of the Gospels were derived from having the same central message. These were known as the synoptic gospels. A couple of them had sources from the “Q” document where it is believed that two of the Gospels were based off of that document because of the similarities between the two Gospels. One of the other authors (not John) had elements from the prior two. So the current writings of the Gospels now weren’t (at least throught) from the apostles or deciples. They were interpretation based on stories passed down and long after Jesus’ death approcimately 40-60 AD.

Yes Josie, I believe it’s the closest thing on the truth _ **based on the underlying message** _ any literal interpretation without correct translation or the right context would probably be incorrect.

TL;DR version

Follow the underlying message, not the actual wording.

Remember the bible wasn’t written in english, and there are definitely certain aspects that were lost in translation.

P.S. sorry for the little amount of details. I’m going back years here from my theology classes.

Well this is exactly what I’m saying. The translations are all messed up. The problem really is the English language. It’s too simplified. When studying Greek text the translations don’t always match up. One word can change the entire context of a chapter.

This is what I am sure about. The culture is Love God and Love others as you Love yourself. Even the word “Love” can be translated incorrectly. The word “Love” is 4 different words in Greek. Agape, Eros, Phillia, and Storge are all translated as Love in the English versions of the Bible. Yet they mean very different things. Eros being attraction, and what we talk about here. 🙂 Agape being true love, move of an open unrestricted love.

There are other things in the Bible that really capture my attention. NLP, positive thinking, and even “[pheromones](https://a314.com/)” appear to be suggested in the Bible. Along with basic principals such as giving in order to receive.

I got a little carried away, but this truly is one of my passions.

For Olam, btw I like this nickname for you, I think if you grasp this one truth and obey it there is nothing you will ever need to think about again. God is Love (Agape). “God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him”

If everyone submits themself to love, then all religions and government could be put away. It really is that simple.

Oh one more translation. The word Church comes from the Greek word Ecclesia. Ecclesia is a political word that means “the called out ones under authority”.

remember also on little minute details when it comes to certain things

church is a word in Greek that means ecclesia

However in the context of Church, with the C capitalized, it means when more than one are gathered in God’s name.

Just pointing out how little things can really change a lot of the meaning. So literal interpretation is out of the question.

Of course you are. That’s why people write hundreds of books and make millions of dollars on media to explain the most simple concept.

Love the Lord your God and Love others as you Love yourself.

That’s all you need to know. The key here is just to Love.

I’ve picked up women before by telling them I was in a Thrill Kill Cult. Does that count as religion 🙂.

Seriously though, all good stuff here. I’m a Catholic and I’m good with that.
