> As both a woman and a vagina lover, I have some thoughts on this subject.
>
> I think it is telling that so many people make analogies to wine, vinegar, and damp beach towels (on the good side) and cheese, rot, old fish, etc. (on the bad side). What do all of these things have in common? They are all fermented. That is, all of these things have smells created by bacteria and yeasts. Like the smell of sweat, the detectable odor of a vagina is created by the mini ecosystem of invisible creatures that live there.
>
> Because nasty things like infections and diseases are caused by bacteria and yeasts, the very idea of that stuff has kind of a bad rap. However, there are many healthy and beneficial bacteria and yeasts that live in our bodies (and our vaginas). It seems very likely to me that the smells produced by those bacteria and yeasts–which vary from person to person–would play a strong role in attracting a mate.
>
> Vaginal bacteria has a strong connection to overall bacteria in your body (especially the digestive tract) and many schools of medicine believe that a healthy digestive system is the foundation of immunity and good health. So I think it would make a lot of sense from an evolutionary fitness standpoint for the most attractive women to be the ones with the best-smelling vaginal bacteria (and hence the strongest immune systems, best genes, etc). It also explains one reason why women have pubic hair: to grow more of that attractive bacteria and diffuse its smell. (I think at least one guy on this thread said that a woman he was with shaved her pubes and had a disappointing lack of scent.)
>
> I’m not too familiar with the problems surrounding copulin products. The issue is that synthetic copulins aren’t convincing enough? I wonder how much better they would work if the pheromone was delivered through an authentic vaginal bacteria smell.
>
> If I had to make the perfect copulin mix, I don’t think I would try to assemble the smell by adding an acid note, a salty note, a honey note, an oceanic note, etc. I think I would culture the bacteria and yeast from some healthy ovulating vaginas, then try to isolate the smell of that stuff. OR MAYBE! I would even try putting some real live bacteria and yeasts into a product. Our noses are very sensitive, it might need to be the real deal and not just a similar smell. If you did create a product that was literally alive with that bacteria/yeast, I would experiment with making it an oil or gel, and maybe add some sugars into the mix to keep the bacteria/yeast alive and active.
>
> OK that’s my crazy idea for the day!

Ladynerd,
Yours is no crazy idea at all. You think creatively and like a scientist. I agree that this may very well be the best way to obtain the most effective odorants. After all, when you want the genuine taste and effect of a fine beer, the ideal way to get it is to ferment barley malt with water, hops and brewer’s yeast.

Designing the industrial process is the biggest stumbling block to this route.

Anyone here versed in growing climate controlled cultures on a production scale? 😕

“Vagina lovers”…

This is crude. Why don’t **you** give **‘it’** the ol’ sniff test and find out for yourself?

The way you word it sounds like “it” is an separate entity. Not!

Personally, I love the ENTIRE woman, i.e., the **whole** package, and that includes **‘it’** irregardless of its unique **“aroma.”**

Can I make myself _any_ clearer?

Would you like to reword this posting to **your** satisfaction **E69**? The topic is about a special **part** of the anatomy. Not armpits or feet. That you find **it** crude is your own issue and obviously not shared by most. Delve into yourself **there** and contribute something constructive. Clearly you have a surplus of wisdom. Irregardless is not a word, however. Not in English, at least.

Hey numbnuts, if you take the time to read the forums you would realize that Michael is a scent scientist doing research and working with Smartmones to make the **copulins** **the ladies on the forum have been asking for**.

wouldn’t it be easier to get volunteers and a firsthand evalution could be made, than taking notes on a second hand evaluation?

the only other scent i’ve had a reaction similar to the smell of an aroused pussy is Ylang Ylang, only it’s not flowery or “smooth” like Ylang Ylang, it’s spicey and pungent like a day’s sweat, or chili. The aroma is “coarse” like pubic hair. It is definately not a sweet smell. It is robust (like Ylang Ylang) penetrating the nostrils and clinging to every hair.
I once had a friend over, who wore a beard at the time. We were talking about 3 feet away, and I suddenly got a wiff of pussy. I asked if he’d being engaging in cunnilingus with his girlfriend recently and he said they had about a day or so ago.
It’s spicey/ coarse (like chili), robust/pungent (like Ylang Ylang), musky (i agree here with the other poster that referenced truffles, perhaps), bold enough to stop a conversation, but not offensive to make one rinkle one’s nose.

One thing to keep in mind. It’s more than just the scent. The fatty acids in the “real thing” will need to be included for the physiological results (I think).

As a Home Brewer of some of this worlds finest beer, I have made a few friends that work as Brew Masters at small Micro Breweries. I can ask them for you, but maybe you could let me know what it is I’m asking 😛

This may sound “dumb” or like i’m kidding… but i’m being 100% dead serious. **IF** you could obtain a sample of vaginal secretion… wouldn’t it be better for you to smell it. Is there testing that could be done ont he sample that could help you out?

I mean… there are obviously many many points of view here… maybe some concrete testing of a sample would help. Also… michael, i’m just curious… whats your take on the smell? I’d liek to see how it compares to ours.

LOL I have the stronger formulas and I have to keep them in air tight containers in my closet. They called me down to the post office to pick up those bottles cause they thought there was a leak hazard (snort)

Man.. this is funny. You want to put vaginal fluids into a mass spectrometer. Hell, why not go through a vibrational and rotational study of the molecules and check it with a raman spectroscopy while you are at it. Btw, I can tell you how a not so clean vagina smells like… fish! hahaha.
