Does anybody know if some of the putatives were originally sold under their chemical name? I know some of the mixes are just a single phero + fragrance. If i guessed, id think P79 is MEO-EST at some different concentration or preparation. Maybe its something like alpha/beta-androstenol?

No Tater I dont think anyone really knows except Jas and M Harris as well as the lab guys/gals.

I think I mentioned this somewhere but Putatives are just suspected to be [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) and are in testing. Its my guess they throw a few duds in just so they can make sure the feedback is good. This is how Jas described it. She makes it more clear 😉

> They’re [putatives](https://a314.com/) because they’re _suspected_ to be pheromones. Some are not quite _proven_ yet. Some have moved up to “pheromone” status, because they have shown some pheromonal activity, effects-wise. [P79](https://pheromonelabs.com/), [P83](https://a314.com/product/p83/), and others fall into this category.

> We don’t want to lead anyone’s opinions, so that’s why we don’t say ANYTHING about them in the product descriptions. We’re into honest to goodness feedback so that we can continue to research and develop products. If we steer people’s opinions in any way, we don’t get honest feedback that we can work with.
>
> We try to eliminate all bias we can. That’s a reason why everything is priced exactly the same in the cart, too. Some of these molecules cost _us_ twice as much as we sell them for (but the feedback is more valuable, so we’d rather go backward for a little time as we’re exploring effects.)

Not knowing what to expect really does make it harder, at least for me LOL I am not great at testing putatives but I do better with the MX’s. I have had alot of the puratives for months but havnt really used them except for P74 and P79 which I liked alot. The others I have tried, excluding the T series ,I didnt like alot but I only used them once or twice. I am just starting to dabble in them again so I am hoping to commit more time to them.

I am glad more people are getting into them because this means more mixes coming and possibly more consumer products. 😉

what commonality do you see between p79 and meo-est? both are pheromonal spices, but beyond that it’s not so clear to me. (you seem to have picked up a ‘!’ aspect to meo-est that I hadn’t seen so much in my experiences. though I do remember a kind of increased volume associated with some of the instant celeb sorts of mixes). Meo-Est is the MSG of pheromones?

Good line Quirk. It is like MSG. It accentuates certain things very well but its crude. Like hammering a nail with a knife handle. MEO-EST seems to work even when youre near OD. Just a gut feel but MEO-EST seems to work better on non-skinny people, not fat just not skinny, and also seems to work better on late 20s-30s.
