This should probably be in the parfum forum, but there’s little traffic there. And the [Basenotes.com](http://Basenotes.com) forums are _muy_ intimidating. So I’ve been experimenting with my mones (gotta love that mx135! _purr_), but notice that I definitely need a cover scent, especially for that _eau d’stank_, EW. Not being a perfume girl in the recent past – I had a bad experience with Giorgio in the 80’s that left me traumatized – I spent some quality sniff time at Sephora and Macy’s. I left with a small bottle of Philophie’ Amazing Grace and a list of scents that I like. I’m about to attack [perfumeshop.com](http://perfumeshop.com) but I can only afford one, so do you have any suggestions of which of the list will cover best, or alternate scents to try? **I LOVE** Burberry - London Prada - Tendre Chanel - Coco Yves saint Laurent - Opium Philosophie - Amazing Grace Narciso Rodriguez - for Her And I am saddened to report that I HATE HATE HATE Pink Sugar. ---

Grins “eau d’stank” You can cover it with just about anything and even skip the perfume entirely in my opinion. I haven’t sniffed most of your list, but I’d say go ahead and get your fave. You don’t have to use the strongest smelling scent, I’ve gone with out a cover and with the lightest of body mists. Eow just needs a 5-10 minute dry down before you apply scents or other [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/). If you skip the dry down or mix it in to most perfumes it does retain the stank in my opinion. It will also stink up any pheromone mix you add it to so I just keep it separate and apply neat. The only perfume I’ve successfully mixed it in to was Pink Sugar, it must be strong enough to handle it with out turning too stanky. 😉 Did you wear Pink Sugar for an extended amount of time? I don’t like it at application but after an hour it is nice on me and lots of people have complemented me while wearing it. I bought it through ebay before smelling it, or I would have skipped it myself. I do get tired of it and take breaks, it is just stronger than what I enjoy in a scent. Try a forum search I’ve found lots of posts about eow mixing, application and so on. ---

Maybe you can try Napoleons favourite scent, which he insisted his wife Josephine wear when he came back home from war… ‘Josephine dont bathe’ Theres something definitely erotic about the natural body odour of a woman… ---

Opium or Coco would do the trick. Amazing Grace is not going to be the best choice to cover straight cops like EW, it’s very light and clean. It would cover other types of pheromones fine, though. NR for Her is very lovely but I’m not sure it’s hefty enough to cover EW. You could try to get a sample or go to the fragrance counter to spray it, already sporting a drop of EW, maybe? Burberry London I can’t recall very well but I understand it’s a vanillic white floral, so it could work well. Tendre I haven’t sniffed yet. If you want to try Pink Sugar again, here’s an idea: apply it thinly over a wide area so it’s soft like a cloud, either by spraying the air and walking through, or put a dollop of unscented lotion in your hand and spritz the lotion, then apply over a large area of skin. Either way it cuts that burnt sugar heaviness and leaves a milder sweet aura … and it would still probably be enough to cover EW, LOL! edited to add: Some can wear EW without a cover, but I can’t. Batch strengths vary and mine has mellowed a lot in the 1-2 years I’ve had it, but even though it smells fruity in the bottle now it’s still a stank bomb on me when I apply it neat … hubby is terribly sensitive to the odor of EW and really doesn’t respond well to it until _the next day_ … he does better with LAM or PCC (the latter is from love-scent). At times I’ve applied a single drop of EW to cleavage in the morning and when he returns home at night, he’ll walk in the door complaining about the odor … and that’s when I’ve covered it well after dry-down! and yes, he does love the smell of real kitty, just not that bad bottled juju. ---

Don’t worry…I don’t care for pink sugar either…most excessively sweet scents are just not my bag. Inkling is correct…just choose the one that YOU like best. Most will cover the pheromones. And, it cannot be repeated loudly enough…MAKE SURE YOU LET THE EW DRY DOWN BEFORE APPLICATION OF A COVER. Otherwise, you will smell it all day long. ---

Burberry is pretty strong – actually, everything, including the neroli to-go scent, tends to be strong on me with my chemistry – so maybe it would be a good day scent with Coco or Opium for evening. ---

that celebrity scent page is pretty funny to click through. It says Alan Cumming wears, aside from his own fragrance _Cumming!_, Demeter’s _Dirt_. Dolly, where do you order your oils from? That might be an option. I might have to get something to dilute perfume anyway, as I tend to stink of any scent, no matter how light…or cheesy, in the case of EW. carrie: i’ll try PS again with your methods. Well, unfortunately, the gentleman that I used to order from got out of the business about a month ago. But, I stocked up before then, so I haven’t had to go searching yet. The only advice that I can give you is to try to purchase single scents. Many differemnt perfumers will sell blends that they create, but use the same names. For example…“white musk” is musk with floral notes. I have smelled a ton of them, and they are each different. Vanilla and amber blends are the same way. Try to go with the basic scent, and then blend what you like. I have found that vanilla, amber, and musk work very well in covering EW. Cinnamon notes do a relatively good job also. Oh, and, Obsession, (which is one of the only commercial perfumes that I like and can wear) covers any and every pheromone that I have ever needed to cover. ---

And that goes for regular fragrances and other pheromones too. I am not offended but I’ve noticed sign of offense from others (hiding nose in sweatshirt; fanning air away with papers). I don’t think my sense of smell is too sharp – EoW doesn’t bother me but certainly seems to bother others – so it’s hard to judge when i’m offensively stinky. ---

I am sensitive to scents, I’ve had to leave stores due to over powering scents that cause sinus sting or headache. That goes from department stores to the detergent isle at the grocery. The neroli in the instant line is over whelming to me, so glad that fades away. With eow, if applied properly-waiting for the dry down- I think the smell is in our heads. A stank memory of application if you will. I can’t stand the smell of eow at application, I have used a fan to dry down quickly and have even tried to move around to escape the waft of ewww. The ewww dance. :o My husband and I have been together for a long time, we have no problem telling one another that somebody stinks. And he hasn’t had that reaction to eow, or any other pheromones that I’m using at all. ---

The only person who has ever commented on being able to smell the mones has been people who I know that wear them but other then that everyone always loves the smell of most stuff I wear. I often wear EOW without cover without a problem but as carrie said everyone is different. When choosing your scents get what you like. Sure we make suggestions but the mones will work with whatever scent you wear. Some scents may aid in diffusion but thats not gonna help if your uncomfortable about the way you smell. I tend to go through phases with my scent choices. This last spring I was buying alot of flowery scents like wildflowers and tulips and then summer rolled around and I felt like fruity scents so I bought Peach suger and Blackberry suger. With fall coming I am starting to crave spicey pumpkin type scents and I have a order in with a few companies. Today I wore Apricot suger. Yummy 😃 Not as sweet as pink or peach suger. When I walked past the morning Truck driver at work this morning he said “Sh!t you always smell so good it makes me wild” I had just sprayed [Instant sexiness](https://phera.com/product/instant-sexiness/) in my hair in the bathroom so I dont know which scent he was picking up. Ok I am babbling (snort 😃 ) Anyway scents are fun to wear. Pick what you like and just have a good time with it.
