> PNW guys are far and above SoCal guys. (The one I was talking to is originally from the Midwest.) I think maybe you’re meeting the predominantly-transplanted guys–far too many are from SoCal. 😠

Not the guys I’ve met. They’ve been cool in a way I understand mostly. The people I get along with BEST up here are transplants - a Washingtonian couldn’t be straight with you if they had steel rod implants in their backs. 😮

Ive read that!!! I love Seattle and have always wanted to go visit, but people kept telling me if I go there, prepare to stay single for awhile cause cracking into any social scene is hopeless, and the people are cold and aloof.

I still love Seattle though…Im determined to live in a houseboat for a few months at least once in my life out there. I used to spend my bday there every year too for awhile there…one of my favorite cities!!!

Don’t get me wrong. I love Seattle. Every time I walk up the hill to the bus stop; the crest has a view of the Sound, with Vashon Island centered and the still snow capped Olympic Mountains bounding the horizon.

Every time I see it, I get a catch in my throat over the BEAUTY of it and I say out loud: I _ **LIVE** _ here! 😛😃

It makes my day in so many ways. I love that it’s green, the blue of the water - fresh and brine. The sound is on of the deepest bays, apparently. And even though they were mostly transplants, I did truly care for the friends I made here. Everyone I hung out with in 2009 left to go interstate for work.

The houseboat thing? DEFINITELY make that summer, the winters here are quite unpredictable and you could end up on a lake during the coldest winter ever - or something horrible like that.

I’ve come to the conclusion that a relationship is probably not ever gonna happen again. So, just bring on the boys. If all I get is casual sex, then I better get off this hiatus.

Wow, I _am_ a Washingtonian. I find that “cold shoulder” hard to believe. The people I got on best with in SoCal were also transplants. Here, I get along with everyone that’s not trying to hard, i.e., Anyone up for Hipster-Hunting? 😃

Haven’t been to Seattle - yet - but I HAVE been to a good bit of central/western Oregon. BEAUTIFUL country. (I love crawling over volcanos.) And yes, they’re really cool with someone visiting from out of state, but dang if you mention you wanna move there. Hostility isn’t overt, but it’s obvious this is THEIR state and you have no business moving there.

Oh well, there is THAT. We’ve been inundated by too many materialistic insensitive out-of-staters that want to change the way we live rather than adapt to us. 😕 Why move somewhere if you really want to keep your old ways?

Yeah thats what Ive heard…that if you are not a native, its harder to break into any social circle, but they are very happy with each other! Honestly though, as a visitor everyone I came across seemed very nice. I remember checking out a menu at a restaurant, and a lady there with a friend leaned in to tell me how amazing the place was and what her favorite dishes were. But Ive been told..thats the catch! Seems like such a great place to live and then once you do, all those nice people are nowhere to be found!

But yes, I still love it there… And for sure would make it out in the spring/summer months to live. I do like it in the winter too though (my bday is in winter, and still..Seattle was the place I wanted to go!) all the same…Id like to live and enjoy the nicest seasons there…hence why just a few months and not a whole year lol

With my kind of luck though, I will end up meeting my husband and spending my first harsh winter in a houseboat anyway hahaha! A girl can dream 🙂

You said you’re Canadian, the other day. In the Seattle Weekly a few years ago, the editor (who was courted and imported) got the Seattlites undies into mega twists with publishing a page full of transplants horrified at their treatment on an ongoing basis. Civil but not warm. Cordial but not inviting. Is exactly how he put it. I did not have any letters to that editor, so you can’t blame me. How long since you lived in WA? I love hipster hunting. Many, many try-hards here. Sad little hipsters with ugly shoes.

I was born in BC, lived in WA from age 3 to 2007 when I moved to SoCal for three years, and then here since New Years. I am _so_ glad I came back. 😃

Day 20, 22.June.2011–2 sprays 1x IS/b

Ok, I repeated a day, apparently. 😉 For a good cause it turns out, as I had a date. Cy has been a trooper, taking my intermittent messages through the end-of-term crazies in stride. We finally had plans in place. I invited him to the Science of Beer exhibit that I was going to go to anyway – turns out NEITHER of us can read a website, and it’s next week. So we went to Powell’s (he needed a book), and I picked up a hiking book that was recommended to me, [Pokin’ Round in the Gorge](http://pokinround.com/). Opening to Hike #33, I present my “first date” with a woman wearing only a triangle of blackberries. 😮😃 Some fantastic conversation over and after amazing fish and chips resulted in talk of a future date. 🙂

Congrats! Just a tad risque for an American first date - oh, wait - you’re Canadian - eh? 😃

Day 21, 23.June - naked

I forgot about spraying anything in my rush out the door. I’d _planned_ to wear them, but I didn’t remember I hadn’t until I returned home.

The day was the same, just somehow _less_. Like the colors/moods, etc were muted. I was not quite as bouncy, people were not quite as chatty, etc, as the prior four days when I was wearing two sprays of IS/b to go.

Days 22-24, 24-26.June – 2 sprays IS 2x ToGo

_Friday_ I had to pick up grading to be done over the weekend, and proctor another exam I ALSO got to take home with me. _yay_ 🙄 I received one unprompted smile from a male undergrad pre-test, but I think most were focused. These were two of the 10 appointments I had that day, and I managed to run late to almost all, of course, but no one seemed to mind. The last one was a date. 😃

_Saturday_ “4 mile, morning hike” NOW means “leave before midday” and “4 miles UP then 4 miles down.” Hiking mostly UP on the west side of a steep mountain in the early (hot) afternoon AND unprepared after a long carride with a hyperactive undisciplined dog while grading was grueling. Coming down, my date did something he thought was funny, I tripped on the ever-prevalent loose gravel and nearly fell over the almost-cliff. He caught me and held me SO tight, extremely apologetic, so that minimized the impending onset of the “crankies” I get from fatigue, heat exhaustion, and other overstimulation. (I REALLY need to remember to refill my prescription.) I doubt my 10am application held through to the 6pm dinner time, but the world’s most amazing fish tacos cured many ills! We chose to sit in the corner, which is why we likely went unnoticed too much.

_Sunday_ brunch at a local hotspot: The staff were fighting technical difficulties at the end of their workday, but they were genuinely happy to see us. (Rumors abound that they are notoriously unpleasant.) The computer wouldn’t take his card, so I offered cash. (This guy makes a point of opening doors and paying for me, but he doesn’t fuss if I open a door or pay sometimes–an indication that he is secure in his “self”!) Maybe the 1pm application lasted until the 5pm graduation trampoline party with a few known friends and a bunch of the honoree’s friends, including a girl I’d gone on one date with. (Only mildly awkward.) I did a great flip the first time, and then landed on my neck the second time I tried it, so I had a bag of ice and drank two beers at the bar afterparty. (Folk remedy for whiplash). Either way it was GREAT fun, and lots of talking and laughs ensued. It was mostly lesbians and a few guys; I was having too much fun to notice if anyone was enjoying the effects trampolining has on me. (I wouldn’t have thought about it except for all my male friends asking if they could come to watch.) Due to the upcoming holiday the guy I’m seeing had to work a day early, but it turned into a half-day instead. So I got a phone call when he was done. When asked, I told him how the party went, and he volunteered to get Icy Hot and come rub it into my neck and shoulder, then helped me finish grading UNASKED. Even though I could barely move and only stand the gentlest of kisses. 😃

Day 25 – 27.June - naked again

No mones. Neck pain kept me home. A lab-mate picked up my finished grading to deliver. She was the only person I saw all day, and I spent the majority of the day grading. But in a generally otherwise good mood.

This is why I don’t do trampolines.

(You may call me Queen Klutz.)

Have you had a doctor examine it to make sure nothing was injured other than muscular? Had a horse stand me on my head once, years ago, and I have neck tweaks to this day.

I have not had it examined. I’m fairly familiar with the issue, and it’s really my shoulder muscles that bother me. The spasming just went all the way up my neck, and halfway down my arm and ribs. I have PT tmo anyway – I’m sure he’s going to be ecstatic. Oh, and I’d do it again…I just want instruction next time. 😃

OK that’s good. I’m glad it’s not serious.

FWIW, I have never been known for my coordination. Funny, because I’ve always been very active and… well, that’s probably the reason I’ve never thought of myself as athletic, but sorta athletic. For awhile there I was forever walking into my chiropractor’s office and they’d go, “Oh no. What did you do to yourself now?” 🙄:o

Endurance of IS and IS/b

Ok, good to know. I think I’ve been going about my testing half wrong, and only applying it when I get ready, not reapplying later before I actually see people. Thanks!
