Hey, QuietGuy! 🙂

I’m familiar with N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) and have been taking it daily for the last few years, along with some other supplements, to slow down my _own_ aging process, lol. I was researching “anti-aging” supplements and discovered NAC forms glutathione, a key detoxifying agent in the body that many doctors consider to be the body’s primary protection against cellular damage. From what I’ve read pioneers in nutritional research believe that glutathione levels in the body are key to how well we detoxify the endless chemicals and heavy metals we’re exposed to. Supplementation with NAC has been shown to raise blood-glutathione levels significantly. To get it naturally, chow down on some cruciferous vegetables and garlic. 🙂

Progeria is a horrible terribly frightening disease. The children die of heart disease and often suffer strokes and heart attacks before the age of ten. I hope this promising research will help to advance a cure so these children can lead some semblance of a normal life. I’ll be curious to see how things develop.

I can’t help thinking about the possible benefits/ramifications of all this as far as society goes. 🙄 Depending on how far they can go, there’s no telling what will happen in Never Never Land, where the boys and girls never wanna grow up/old and to stay forever children/young. Sounds like a fairy tale doesn’t it? Be careful what you wish for boys and girls. As wonderfully “magical” as it sounds, there’s always a Hook and the tale could turn out to be mighty Grimm.

Speaking of Grimm, that brings to mind the film “Death Becomes Her”. 😛 Basically this sordid tale is about two former, now aging, beauties who compete against each other and the plastic surgeon who has the misfortune of being saddled with keeping them pieced together as they vie for the title of “The Fairest Of Them All”. And it’s a doozy!

This clip is very graphic, so be warned, if you’re easily offended by rolling heads/dismemberment you’ll want to skip it.

I definitely wouldn’t try mixing _that_ up in my bathtub. 😮 😃

Too bad glutathione is not well adsorbed when taken as an oral supplement due to this amino acid’ low absorbability in the gastrointestinal tract. I like just about all cruciferous vegetables except for Cauliflower and broccoli. they don’t jive that good with my taste pallet.

Yeah, it must be painfully tough for someone with such a potential life threatening/limiting condition.

I remember this movie! 😃 The person who gave those ladies that elixir told them to take care of their bodies even though that elixir grants them immortality. Too bad that advice was not headed as highlighted by that video you posted those ladies went willy nilly on each other doing an insane amount of physical damage to one another.
