Another tip, courtesy of the perfumista community: Don’t apply right after a shower. That’s when you are most likely to have a skin reaction (particularly on your neck, one of the most reactive areas) AND the heat of your body right after a shower will accelerate the burnoff rate of your scent (and mones, I would presume). Wait until you’re dried off, cooled down, and your skin has started to produce its own oils again (an hour would be good) before applying scent or mones.

There are many essential oils with potential to cause skin reactions … sandalwood (mentioned above) is one of the most innocuous.

Yes Sunny i think aome of the oils do have an unpleasant reaction on sensitive skin sometimes, with APC this happens to me as well , and also PI used to cause a little agro as well but it isnt too bad now and only 1 drop isnt going to be that much of a bother, RE the A314 though when i use 3 or 4 drops i always apply at least 1/2 of the application spread out along the lower hairline on the back of the head and also a bit on my sideburns it always seems to be very effective when whisked through the outside layers of the hair on the head, that gives me an idea now i may be able to apply my JB #1 mix to the hair also. 🆒

When I first used A314 a year ago, my face & neck felt hot and my voice turned deeper. It occured a few times until I lowered the dosage & increased the application frequency (daily as opposed to twice every week). Application spot : below the right ear, 1 drop only. Now, my regular dose is 1-2 drops of diluted A314 ( DPG : A314 @ 4 : 1 )

It could be your body reacting to the pheromones or the EO. Try lowering the dosage & use A314 more frequently. This will help the body to cope & adjust well to the product.

What you said is so true Carrie.

It tends to be alot worse if u apply after a shower. I’ll wait 1 hr before applying the next time.

Terry, I forgot to mention also, the worse reaction I ever got, was from APC too! Man that stuff gives me badass rash!

ITwow, i think most of us are getting the rash from the oils , not the mones. With you, it sounds more like mones are affecting you instead.

itwow, I agree to tfs that your reaction seems like a “true internal reaction” to the pheromones, that is, controlled by your central nervous system, not an allergical skin reaction to one of the substances in the oil.

This explains why you were able to desensitize yourself easily. With allergical skin reactions, this does not work so easily since things tend to get worse and worse if you increase the frequency of application.

terry, the funny thing is that I seem to be the only one of those who react to A314 who has never experienced a skin reaction before with any of the other products and I have tried them all. Even pure sandalwood works fine for me… and that makes me even more curious which of the oils in A314 is the problem for me.

Pheromones affecting me = the fun starts earlier! 😉 TAC or WAGG gives me a good smile every morning.

**@Sunny**
Perhaps you could ask for an exchange of the A314, IIRC AR rotates the EO frequently, per batch.

Jasmin has already offered the exchange. I just need to wait for the arrival of one different version and after testing we will do it if required. Thanks.

Well true, its either an oil or an additive, i dont know what additives if any that it may contain, sometimes a person may suffer an initial reaction and after a while it works ok, but in your case you will probably have to wait for your new bottle, i am using A314 that i got from l-s and i am expecting my 15ml bottle of androtics A314 to arrive today or tomorrow, so good luck with your new stuff when it arrives 🆒

Thanks! I will keep you updated in this thread about my allergy development with A314 until I have the solution!

My overseas FedEx shipment got stuck in customs, so I am patient…

Skin reaction to A314 - SOLVED!

I have now tested the version of A314 which is currently shipping from Androtics. **There is only little skin irritation, no big problems!!!**

This feels and smells like a totally different product, compared to the A314 I got from Love Scent (because of very different EOs).

The pheromones seem to work equally well in both versions. But the version from l-s smells so bad to me that a good cover cologne is always required. Plus I get the bad skin irritation.

The current batch of A314 direct from Androtics seems to have a smoother texture and it **smells good**! It reminds me of incense and it does not need a cover (but works well with my favorite colognes).

Problem solved and a big **Thank You** to Jasmine!
