Has anyone purchased/sniffed **Skinlure**?
[ISCA Technologies: IPM TOOLS Page](http://www.iscatech.com/exec/IPMtools.htm)
It’s created by a company called ISCA Tech to **mimic the human skin odour** to attract and trap insects and mosquitoes.
I wonder what chemicals they used to exactly replicate the human skin odor.
They mention [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) as well. Give it a read, hope we can get some important information out of it.

I don’t know, I’ve always heard that mosquitoes zero in on the CO2 that we exhale.😕

Skinlure sounds interesting and worth a try, just wear a hat and don’t try it in malaria-prone areas 😮

As for the molecules in Skinlure, it may consist of any or all of the molecules which I have highlighted below…

[BCSV XII Abstracts](http://www.semiochemica.org.uk/articles/2004Abstracts.htm)
"Human odour facilitates malaria vectors’ passion for blood
Dr Alan Cork_University of Greenwich, Central Avenue, Chatham Maritime, Kent ME4 4TB, UK._
The lecture will provide a rapid review of our understanding of the chemistry that underlies the uncanny ability of female mosquitoes to select and locate unwary hosts. For mosquitoes this is a dangerous task, if caught she risks being killed by the potential host. For the host the consequences can be equally severe if the mosquito is carrying one of the many diseases that rely on such vectors for transmission. Some of the more efficient vectors of human diseases are highly anthropophilic. In order for them to successfully blood-feed they need to be able to recognise and respond to host-specific cues. Early work demonstrated that heat, humidity and carbon dioxide were important cues for mosquitoes but they are not host-specific. **1-Octen-3-ol** , **ammonia** and **a range of saturated aliphatic carboxylic acids** have laterally been highlighted for their ability to attract mosquito species, at least in wind-tunnel bioassays, but again they are not human-specific.

Costantini et al. (2001) found that components of axillary odours, **7-octenoic acid, (E)- and (Z)-3-methyl-2-hexenoic acid**, identified by Zeng et al. (1992) elicited behavioural responses from Anopheles gambiae s. l. in the presence of carbon dioxide, although in the latter case the effect was to reduce trap catch. **L-Lactic acid** is also known to affect the behaviour of the related Aedes aegypti but only in the presence of carbon dioxide. Recent work undertaken in partnership with Tim Healy and colleagues (2002) demonstrated that landing responses were elicited from female Anopheles gambiae in wind tunnel bioassays by **human-specific 2-oxocarboxylic acids**. The results of this work and implications for developing an odour-bait that could be utilised for monitoring purposes in malaria and dengue endemic areas will be discussed.

Thanks Visionary! Did you figure out any way how to buy this stuff in small amounts for testing purposes?

nbully you could probably order the product from this site: [www.iscatech.com/exec/DocLib/ISCA\_Product\_Catalog\_-\_Mosquito\_Management\_Products.pdf](http://www.iscatech.com/exec/DocLib/ISCA_Product_Catalog_-_Mosquito_Management_Products.pdf)

You want the ‘CMT-20 **Collapsible Mosquito Trap with SkinLure** ’ which is not cheap at $189 for one unit. You might want to email them and find out if you can just get the ISCA’s proprietary mosquito lure (SkinLure) without the rest of the product, at a discount… anyway it is a mosquito trap it might not be suitable for putting onto human skin… this isn’t like another brand of cologne/scent, it is probably not designed to be put on human skin-it might have insecticides as well so be careful if you do try it… you might just contact the company direct to make sure what you will be doing if you do try it, is SAFE! Anyway I dont want to dissuade you from trying it as it says it mimics the odor profile of human skin which might indeed be very interesting (with a coverscent!!!).

If you ask me, if you want the essence of sweat, a better bet might be just to get the proper molecule-forms of 3-Methy-2-Hexenoic Acid (3M2H) that were used in the studies by Maiworm and the on that patent that I posted about in the other thread. At least with that molecule there are three different reports from three different sources that that stuff may be ‘psychologically active’ (Maiworm’s two studies, the Japanese patent in the early 1990s, and that guy’s hit reports using 3M2H with Andostenedione). If any non-hormonal sweat molecule is going to be psychologically active it has to be 3M2H based on the evidence…

‘Skinlure’, the mosquito attractant that mimics the odor profile of human skin, also apparently from the company’s website, **has a very mild odor** (see below). Given that the potential stink was probably the biggest obstacle to trying this product on human beings, it could be worth a try. Yes it might be interesting to see if this combination of non-hormone-related molecules present on human skin would do anything pheromonally! -Visionary]

"… **Does the CO2 or SkinLure have a bad smell ?**

No, CO2 gas does not have an odor and the SkinLureTM odor is very mild."

take a look ‘mosquito attractant mma’ @youtube. It is experimental and not commercially available yet, but it intoxicates the mosquitoes. I personally tested it over 2 weeks, and it has a Wow!!! factor.
