Hi, folks.

I’m new to this world and I have a few questions regarding, well, smell. I thought I would put it all in one post, I hope I’m not boring you all with old questions.

You see, I’ve always defended the theory that it’s better not to wear any cologne at all than to risk overwhelming other people with your fragance, so the effect I would look for in the mones is maximum possible effect with minimum smell. I don’t want people sniffing me like a dog telling me I smell good, or even worse, saying “what the hell is that stink?”

So my questions are:

1. Is there any mone that stinks so much you must wear a cover?

2. Have you found that when you wear a combination of several mones the combination of scents creates an undesirable or overwhelming effect?

3. Does wearing normal cologne to cover a scent create the effect described in question 2?

4. Can cologne cancel out the effect of the mones?

5. To what extent does the effect of the mones depend on actual smell?

Thanks for your time.

Everyone has their own sense of smell so people react differently to the same smell. I recently posted about this in another thread.

Sometimes it’s that effect that we are after 🙂. Depending on the mone it will be different. For example, -none sometimes makes people aggressive, whereas it makes me more cocky. The only way to know what a pheromone does to you is to try it out and use the forums for a little bit of guidance towards what each mone is known for. Search “OD” and you’ll get thousands of results that explain what happens to the user and those around them when too much is used. It can go in either direction and can be really good or really bad.

[Pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) and scents are not the same thing. A cover scent, such as cologne for example, may effect how well the pheromone disperses, but as far as creating an unpleasant environment, it really depends on the cologne and how much is used. A good cologne will of course help you, a bad cologne will hurt you, and too much cologne will hurt you. It’s usually best to go with enough cologne so that it can be smelled only if close. If someone can smell you from 20 feet away you have too much on.

So my questions are:

1. Is there any pheromone that stinks so much you must wear a cover?

**Yes most pheromones smell. Unscented just means no cover scent not that it has no scent. I cant think of one actual effective pheromone that was ever truly scentless to everyone.**

1. Have you found that when you wear a combination of several [mones](http://www.pheromonetalk.com/) the combination of scents creates an undesirable or overwhelming effect?

**If you just referring to the pheromones without the cover no. You will probably smell unclean though without some sort of cover since they tend to smell a bit like human body Oder**

**You could wear to many different products that include cover and become over scented if they clash.**

1. Does wearing normal cologne to cover a scent create the effect described in question 2?

**No**

1. Can cologne cancel out the effect of the [mones](http://www.pheromonetalk.com/) ?

**No they usually enhance it by binding to the molecules and helping to create better sillage and diffusion.**

1. To what extent does the effect of the [mones](http://www.pheromonetalk.com/) depend on actual smell?

**They dont, the smell has nothing to do with the effect. Thats aromatherapy. They do have a scent but Pheromones are molecules that diffuse off the body into the air and are inhaled up the nasal passage to the neurotransmitters in the brain causing them to fire a emotional response. They would do that no matter what scent cover was worn with them. The scent helps to cover the unpleasantness some people perceive with mones and to aid in the diffusion off the body.**

**You could wear them with no cover but it would be like having BO. Most people would avoid smelling you or at least try.**

Thanks for the replies, folks.

If you carry the stuff “to go”, does that mean you also have to carry cologne with you to cover it when you put it on?

The products that you buy here come with a neroli scent cover so no you do not have to bring a cologne with you. You cant get the unscented option (remember that means no cover not no smell) in the to-go size.

A314 doesn’t come with neroli but its oil based so once you apply you do not need to reapply all day.

Some of the MX formulas you will read about come in different cologne scents with names like Pherogame or [Akuto](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/akuto/). They are also working on a new scent package for the popular Ammo formula which is why its been out so long.

Thanks again. I suppose if you didn’t like the smell of the scent and tried to cover with your own cologne the results could be quite messy…

[Neroli](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/androtics-neroli/) dries down to be quite incredibly subtle. Very very easily covered by another cologne. I’d say anything there (in neroli) except for TUTH would be rather easy to cover.
