# I am not posting these without some hesitation, but I have removed anything private and I don’t think he would have objected to these insights being more generally shared.

(re none buffer)
would fit this modus operandi. I’ve tried erotic mixes with and without, buffering strong -none. clearly has a softening, calming action against the hard push of -none. A1 has never made me depressed, edgy, or combative, nor is true dineone strongly fragrant. It is almost odorless with a slighly sweet tinge. I have a suspicion that something else, such as androstenone, may have been labelled as -Androstadienone… you have to be very careful who you deal with in this business…

Having said that, -Androstadienone seems to be greatly improved when it is mixed with A314

Also should say that I am about 50 years old with reduced hormonal output, perhaps with a man in his 20s, -dieneone would cause an overload and some kind of overcompensating depression, such as the aftereffect of taking a strong stimulant.

Androstadienone on it’s own can’t be it, since none of the products above make men depressed (and I don’t suppose Chikara could be scented if it were).

Have you had much experience with pure 'none-Androstadienone mixes?

> # re Alexander Technique - one can practice this on a multitude of levels, like meditation it can be either horribly boring or subtle and enlightening, it isn’t a linear, go in and take two of these and call me in the morning activity… you will find yourself simultaneously outgrowing some lines of inquiry and growing into others, I remember waking up one day and thinking that I’d outgrown the NLP crowd, or they changed, or whatever… sometimes I feel like AT can be sort of retarded and low energy and other times lively in an internal way.. the advanced people do seem to be woken up in ways that most people aren’t, physically and mentally… there is a lot of crappy AT on the market too… the gurus of the world have a rendency to speak to a lame brained element of the population, it is hard to find a teacher who actually is “all that and a bag of chips”… so you find the best you can and work with what you’ve got… balancing planes of development is tricky, you work like crazy to master one plane and you lose touch on another one, so if you can find some way, any way to accelerate the process, that’s pure gold.
>
> # The NLP front ? Don’t I wish there was a teacher so compelling that I would drop all activities and seek this being out ? My eyes are always open, there isn’t any strong subsurface rumbling to suggest a hidden master lurking in the depths, frankly, Bandler used to be a hale and hearty fellow, if more than a little , errrr, excessive at times, now he looks awfully imploded, possibly he still has something unique and vital in him, couldn’t say for certain say… there is the big Alexander annual congregation at Sweetbriar college in Virginia, a two week event, quite long by seminar standards if you want a grand tour of the art instead of noodling around with a teacher here and there, hoping you’ll find a good one (the not good ones are hopelessly bad)… this is the winter of our discontent or something like that in the body/mind field, you’re either a pro athlete or a corporate droid now, there isn’t a good middle ground, I think this is the outcome of corporatizing life down to the calluses of its feet, now there are too many dregs, jerkish leftovers pandering to the consciousness scene, very sad, very enrevating…

>

# Might be too much of a good thing. I was reading that “serious trippers” (is that an oxymoron or what ?) were gravitating towards adding small doses of sedatives like banzodiazapenes to soften the trip… there have been reliable reports that pheromes can have a powerful, perhaps too powerful for emotional comfort, impact when used with strong cannabis. Emotional stuff may arise that some are not prepared to handle…

what do you think about taf’s use in meditation btw? i heard one chap was ordering it for that purpose.

meditation… too alert for that, move you away from the classic meditative theta state, up to a higher frequency beta…

yes, i saw reports to that effect at the other place from one of the more interesting posters there.

# cannabis has evolved into powerful mind altering stuff… I now hear reports of uses self admitting into health clincs because they are suffering from (hopefully temporary) memory loss… the late generation hydroponic growing technology and more sophisticated plant genetics have unleased another one of the great unintended consequences on us… wouldn’t want to expose the users to a high intensity -pheromone unless they were solid stable individuals, and me, I wouldn’t be there in the first place…

Re: ‘polishing coconuts’
believe it or not there are now philosophers who contemplate this sort of thing… I think they call it “manifestation theory”… there’s a guy in Encenitas, California who studied closely with the legendary Milton Erikson, one Stephen Gilligan:

[Milton Erickson | Hypnosis | Self-Relations | by Stephen Gilligan Ph.D](http://www.stephengilligan.com/)

he’s not a manifestationist, although he does some heavy work with the RAS and the ways filters are set… he can do deep work with the unconscious mind and how it creates what the conscios mind takes for reality

Re: TAK afterthoughts
after considerable experimentation it seems reasonable to conclude that human brains are gestalt forming organs, the lower regions of the brain take in a huge amount of undifferentiated information and progressively trim it, refine it, compare and map to the higher brain regions… so it is exceedingly hard to pin down any specific “IT” that shapes one’s present sense/feeling/congnition about what reality is, whether social reality or physical reality…

[Pheromones](https://a314.com/) and sensual odorants obviously adjust this mysterious process in some interesting ways which may lead one to disregard the full bundle of forces at work

John Grinder of NLP fame was very focused on the idea of unconscious state matching (i.e. rapport creating) and state dis-matching processes which he believes took place outside of conscious awareness.

In some converssation with him, he appeared to be thoroughly innocent of pheromone chemistry or theory, more surprising his cluster of adherents were overtly hostile to the idea of pheromones as having any contribution to this rapport business, as they may have undermined certain of the basic tenets of the NLP model…

Funny thing was that Grinder was a big fan of Thomas Kuhn, author of The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, that suggested this very thing, that a new piece of information would arise which would be highly discrepant with established paradigms, and that the old generation would feel that their authority, learning, investments, and prestige would be threatened by this novel thing…

It was the appearance of pheromones on the scene that threatened to have a Kuhnian impact on the orthodoxy of NLP, and the NLP community reacted in the predictable way… which goes to show that one have have an intellectual grasp of a topic yet be fully unable to comprehend its’ relevance to the present situation.

What makes people tick is complicated… the tactical approach of body language, pacing, leading, immediate social signals, may disregard the importance of long standing cultural forms, family dynamics, early childhood experience, education or lack thereof, political and economic frames…

One could ramble on at great length here…

Re: impi
can’t name any novel ones… spent time with the head of research for a fragrance industry trade association… he said that sesquiterpene synthesis can’t be done except at extreme cost in the laboratory, they have to get them from natural sources, except now they are testing trans-genetic technology to do it by putting the right DNA into yeast… aloeswood/agarwood, assuming you have the real material, is definitely psychoactive and quite pro-erotic as well as unbelievably fragrant… a sesquiterpene complex…
vetiver, also a popular sort of unpleasant scent IMHO, another one…I would suspect many of the fragrant wood oils, esp the southeast asian variety, are combos of various terpene classes..

it seems to be a general thing, varies for pheromone to pheromone.. that’s why I don’t use them every day, maybe every 4th day maximum, because they really work my neurological-endocrine axes pretty well, it would be like drinking a lot of strong espesso all the time… and balancing the yin pheromones with the yang pheromones is a good idea too, so you aren’t over stretched in either direction.. Androstadienone can, but not always, have this backdraft effect of feeling sort of unsocial and not into talking to people..

# Quote: Originally Posted by PheroQuirk I think I tend to experience same with high doses of Androstadienone. Feel grimey, blah and depleted. Have you noticed this with anything else? (It doesn’t seem to happen for me with none for ex).

tw was reminded v much today of your point about importance of voice/tonality etc. had been making a conscious effort to work on this (for now just simple stuff - paying attention to breathing and singing scales and arpeggios in shower) with I think some useful effect.

The best thing to do is get a good recorder and a good microphone (with a wind “pop” foam cover so you don’t overload the microphone with air blowing over it) and listen to yourself reading text. Shakespeare is perfect because of his use of meter… sometimes when I listen to old Londoners talk, people now in their seventies or so, I remember how refined, how disciplined, and yet how unselfconsciously beautiful, and clearly expressive on multiple levels, emotive and logical both common speech could be, with no affectations, and I think a great confidence came with that, that one could be understood and that one could easily understand, and many emotional planes could be at work without being precious or excessively denotative…

# ======== I’m too wiped out with the flu at the moment to do justice to a good reply… I wouldn’t go so far as to study art history… much of it is awfully tedious… you’d do better to go to a store that sells art and design books and get a couple that deal with color theory and color application in design… for example, I learned (after years of considering the subject) that certain carefully realted colors were inherently sexy and people felt sexy around them… most people make the initial mistake of choosing colors individually instead of understaning the dynamic between colors, and how that enhances or weakens self presentation… the color scheme must work with your hair… eye color… and skin tone. Because the eye is the most erotic visible body part, be especially aware of the way anything near the eye, particulary a scarf or shirt, will cause the eye to intensify… I think it is a mistake to “fight the eye” by choosing a color that contrasts with it… better to find colors that interact with and compliment the eye… black guys are lucky because they have everything lined up, eyes, hair, skin… they can wear devastating primary colors, strong yellows, reds, deep blue colors that no anglo guy should wear, he’ll just dissappear and the color will take over… look at this Italian masters of the Renaissance… such colorists like the world has never seen… then think of your hair… the second color choice should contrast slightly with the hair… but be at the same “grey value” (meaning that if all the color was removed, the degree of greyness would be the same)… so as I became middle aged and more grey, my jackets shifted from darker to lighter. with an interplay of washed out, almost mineralic mediterranean colors… only a fool of an old man would dye his hair, better to pick masterful color schemes that compliment the hair… then consider the skin, is is bluish, orange tinted, olive green toned ? All of these factors must be carefully blended and put together like art, yet with no sign of effort… always better to understate than overstate…

# I do think that life skills begin to flow together and meld into one’s personal style… so ultimately one isn’t bound to a script or an external method… pheromones may become an integral piece of that large self presentation… more… they can accelerate your learning curve as richer social opportunities present themselves as raw material… I did begin to notice that a multitude of influencing factors were in the background as “supporting subliminals” … such as studying color theory and great art and training my eye hard to see what made an optical materpiece so visually enticing… then applying that knowledge to clothing… there are many fine points of color combination that do turn people on, even though the individual clothes may be of modest origin… the lesson here for me was the essence is to look comfortable, natural, completely unforced, yet associate colors, fabrics, patterns in ways that are outstanding in their simplicity and elegance… looking too stylish can actually be a detriment… anything that announces one’s needfulness WILL be a detriment… OTOH… there are details that make a difference without ever flying out… I see far too many bad belt buckles, either too heavy, made from the wrong metal, or too dainty… there seems to be an art to carrying a great buckle… there is an art to walking, the looseness of the gait, quite hard to learn how to walk elegantly, and you can’t fake it, how to pay attention and listen to someone else, tracking the subtle changes of their micro-expressions, having a cache of great stories that are uniquely yours… MM wlll clarify specific points… I use their clarifications to good effect, the difference is that I don’t rely on alcohol, ever, or drugs, ever, and I don’t hang out in clubs or bars nor do I see any reason to.

# as a younger man, were you always this insightful and perceptive? or did the NLP+bodywork+vocal training+life experience &c &c transport you to a different realm? unfortunately, both for myself and anyone in my presence, I was a total jerk… albeit a curious total jerk…huge investments of time, dedication, finding the right teachers, wasting energy and life corpuscles with the wrong teachers, and perhaps most importantly, allowing my preconceptions to be busted… all were required to make an iota of progress.. fortunately, when you invest in the right efforts, the eventual payoff can be great… none of this came with magical ease… and be warned, as I am reenteering the NLP field… some NLP has turned hopelessly mediocre… it just returned from a training with a costly “certification” as if their certificate would carry much weight… and qualitatively it bordered on ludicrous…

# tku. i’m still curious about the taa-tac contradiction… so you find tac mildly erotic but not the alpha one… wellll… tac is a strange one… I’ve never found it erotic per se… it has the polymorphous nature that can be sort of gentlemanly-authoritative sexy grandpa presence… or it can be spontaneously giggly… people will crack up for no reaon… taa is so distinct… with a meditative upper, anti-depressant quality… tac is softening, relaxing, like sinking into a well padded chair, and taa is more like bouncing on a trampoline… together you feel a two directional pull, like you want to chill out and self express at the same time… I think taa can get you laid and tac can get you laid, though your approach would be different for each one… I’m not so sure that tac and taa at the same time will get you laid…

you don’t do things by halves funny because I have the same approach. stuff is cheap and the potential benefit from getting things very right so high that makes sense to splurge on and experiment with books, music, pheromones etc - anything that will help you make your life better.

Yep… everything begins and ends with the mind… your mind IS reality in a practical sense… I’ve been experimenting with “bracketing” lately, working my beta ranges, then down to delta-theta, then more beta, then more delta-theta… while avoiding the spacey, self indulgent alpha range… I do much better in life when I reduce my alpha activity… seems I go there as sort of an escape, dreamy, socially disconnected, watching internal TV… the theta-beta combination is less foggy, less sentimental, gets things done fast, efficiently, and keeps good track of time…

overstimulation of sympathetic system may be lyme or immune related. I wonder if TAK+ mind machine can help also

# Possibly… there are strange factors, like the balance of the occlusions of the molars… I was dumfounded when a persistant headache and neck pain that had dogged me for ten years cleared up when I got my rear teeth precisely levelled… clenched my jaws much less too…

Qn re Glauberman - if using simultaneously with a mind machine, which settings are acceptable? Is it okay to fall asleep during the induction?

# I presently have another large pile of Glauberman’s CDs I’m exploring… some of my recent changes have be absolutely astounding… although I don’t know how to weight each contributory factor, and perhaps in a complex synergy condition, the whole cannot be fully understood merely as a sum of the parts… I think as each mind is distinct, and each life agenda is as well, that one must patiently combine and recombine until one finds the right personal tuning for that life moment… I dount that you could go very wrong in the worst case, however only with the patience of a locksmith can you arrive at the perfect intersection for your present gestalt, when you step back and say to yourself, WOW… that really IS a new perspective on life…

Re: nova 100 codes
You are going to be one busy fellow for the nonce. In my recent experimentation, I believe I have gotten the best all around results when using the High Range Aerobic Jump (beta fluidizer) which will be Special Program #3 followed by the Full Range Aerobic Jump, Special #2… of course there are oodles of others… I’ve found that those two, in that order, when used regularly, will slowly but surely bring about a dramit improvement in mental efficiency with no added feeling of mental strain or effort, IF you use only the audio portion… with the light goggles it might be fairly intense… also have been using the Glauberman CDs to marvellous effect… his Meditative Relaxation is especially good, as is his High Performance, and Soul Mates (not as overtly romantic as the title sounds, good relationship builder)… even his “relationship repair” set, Rekindling The Flame is actually fun and useful… I took a big batch with me the other day, and my girlfriend over there was so impressed by the overall improvements in our relationship she (normally highly skeptical of anything the slightest bit woojie-woojie) asked me to leave some with her… I was freaking amazed that she would make such a request… but honestly the qualitative changes for the better between us left us both awestruck… like I’d been seeing a good therapist and some of it osmotically soaked into her psyche… beware though, this was the consequence of about 3 weeks of an average of two hours per day of Glauberman and 40 minutes per day of Photosonix… I believe there is a POWERFUL synergy between the two… which you yourself may not be immediately aware of although I have more noticed other people noticing the differences in me that I have felt or sensed them directly… I now have another series of CDs on order… even his Sales Mastery is useful… I left her with Sales Mastery (she sells sea shells by the sea shore), Soul Mates, which is really about learning to see things from another’s perspective, and Meditative Relaxation, If you’re really a bug for these sorts of things, you can route an external source through the Photosonix so you could overlay some of the CDs with the Photosonix programs for super-deep injection… BTW… each CD will have several (usually two, sometimes three) tracks withabotu 1 minute of dead silence at the end of each… so don’t assume that the whole thing is played at the end of the first segment…

For this line of thought, EST is the best, and beta-Androstenol is superb, TAH would be OK too… and EST/Beta Androstenol duo sounds about right.

I’ve been a bit afraid of starting acting classes in a group as I suspect I’m likely to be a fair bit behind the mean in current/native ability.

It is so hard at the beginning, you feel so self conscious and naked, all the anxieties, the inner voices to be worked through and quieted…

Possibly barely-remembered memories from childhood. But am at the stage where guess I can deal with the social pressure if need be. Are Meisner technique classes always in a group setting, or can they be private?

# The more public the better… best of all you should have to do them naked at a soccer match on the midfield line with thosands of spectators booing you… you will have no fears of public exposure after that…

# Yeah… lots and lots of big city professional training with tough, high quality acting coaches and voice coaches is a MUST before going on camera… My advice would be at least one semester of meisner (acting) training, one full on camera course… everything here need to be trained, tightened up, brought into focus… and boy do i know, I’ve worked like hell at it and it has taken me at least 3 years of more or less constant application with great teachers to develop “professional presence”… it’s expensive, emotionally painful, stressful, confusing, and unltimately one of the best investments you can make in your future…

there are numerous factors… voice production is a full body experience… I’ve had ultrasound treatement (you need some expertise to do this) of my arms, and loosening and elasticising my arms changed my voice considerably… and there was a japanese (fanatic craftsman I assume) shoe company that made special shoes for opera singers when they performed, to refine the connection between their body mass and the satage… so I wouldn’t argue that voice HAS to be locked or fixated in any specific region of the body… any place where the body is frozen or has reduced awareness will also affect voice production… as gross as this sounds to the modern sensibility, earlier legitimate medical practice used a number of sphincter dilator tools… exceptionally finely made, done with complete medical professionalism, to treat various conditions of “overgripping”… even high blood pressure was treated with a rectal dilation device, and apparantly this really did work… and there are still “urethral sounds”, or a graduated set of stainless steel probes that are used to open the urethra into the bladder… as there are a complex set of ring muscles in the region that can become clampled shut… the Rolfers and other post-reichian body workers came to believe that over aggressive potty training resulted in the mal-coordiantion of the pelvic floor, and this then caused diaphragmatic tightening… just think about a time when you badly needed to urinate and had to hold it in… it changes your voice, right ?

Ultrasound is a well established modality for physical therapy… the high frequency sound is conducted into the muscles and connective tissue from an emitter that is coupled to the skin with ultrasound gel… the major risk with ultrasound is deep tissue burn from improper application, so skillful therapists who know how to put in a high enough dose without injury are required… besides a heating effect, ultrasound actually softens and mobilizes the harder fascia, tendon, and ligamentous tissue so the limb will become much freer and mobile… often the nerves also benefit as the nerve tissue is directly massaged by the ultrasonic vibration, resulting in improved nerve conduction function, which in turn improves muscle function… a good thing if used with proper understanding, potentially dangerous if used improperly… as for Rolfers, the quality of Rolfing has fallen preciptiously over the past 15 years, there may, somewhere, be a first rate bodyworker who can fully enegage the body-mind connection

even today when interacting with my parents I often feel like I am acting out some as-yet-unpublished script from ‘games people play’… (one common element is a lecture on how much they sacrificed for me followed by a sequence of negative evaluations/peer group comparisons).

The first powerful comprehension to free your mind is this:

They too, now as much as ever, are profoundly on automatic pilot… and the reason they are in this condition is that THEY have endless internal monologs, dialogs, lectures, diatribes, end so on internalized and also outside of conscious awareness… they don’t (for now) comprehend that these are “tapes”… and they are tape players… sometimes it helps to use a quick visual dissociation trick… when you see each other, quickly imagine each significant party AS a tape player, or CD player… with a series of stimulus buttons… so if you say “x” or give posture “y”, then on comes the Z message… you know, there is a very intense, painful, but somehow profoundly liberating movie (when so few possess this depth) I would most reccommend, The House Of Sand And Fog… w/ Ben Kingsley… written by Andre Dubus… about a dispossesed Iranian general who sacrifices everything for his family to live in middle class Oregon… Kingley captures the essence of it…

do you have any thoughts or suggestions for reading material on clearing the cobwebs around stereotyped behaviour patterns within relationships? it is one thing to change oneself enough that new programming supercedes old patterns in the context of new relationships. but a harder one when it comes to a context of the oldest relationships where the patterns have been laid down since childhood.

This is so because the relationships are based on absolute dependency… I have found that the deepest growth is rarely the “big blast breakthrough” advertised by the Tony Robbins model of transformation, rather the slow, day to day accretions of awareness… where these dependencies evolve and mature into something more interesting and constructive… hold onto the insight that the generation before you may have had terribly difficult childhoods, filled with uncertainty, and this way of being constantly vigilant, constantly in terror of failure, is informed by the belief that the most terrible consequences may await one is not sufficiently on guard…

# I think you must also give yourself more credit for being determined to reshape the family drama (which is what many families are… ) and the family trance (which is also what many families are) into something more constructive…

Having said that… my impression is that you have a large component of perfectionistic internal dialog, which may be blocked from conscious awareness, so I will assume that your childhood had significant figures who lectured you and were very demanding about personal minutae…

From a self liberation perspective, if you could gain access to these hidden files which guide your consciousness, and if you must be talking to yourself, say richer more dimensional self accepting things, in the tone of curiosity and wonder…

Have you considered the possibility that the growth tools you have been using, the CDs, bodywork, pheromones-as-catalysts, have helped you make significant, outside of conscious awareness level changes ?

That it isn’t the pheromones, per se, but you have
really changed, enough for the better that others respond as one naturally would ?

# Perhaps the issue is not the reality of change, but that your internalized critical voice (and, the beliefs of the person who was the source of that voice) has a hard time understanding, much less accepting this degree of change ?

Each experience will either deepen existing grooves or carve new ones in your neurology… I wouldn’t concern myself with “out of pattern” unless it becomes egregiously anti-social… ANY experience of newness, the newness of self, will feel alien, hard to interpret, lacking the familiar contextual frames… “deframed moments” can be exhilirating to a free consciousness… clubland, party promoters, and such, IS a rigid, contrived social universe, (I have had excessive experience therein before I came to my senses)…

# In retrospect, a primate behavior lab… not to be taken too seriously… whatever happens, no need to get any heavy self judgements, even if you make a grand ass of yourself once in a while…

[quote=PheroQuirk]
But now, and by now I mean in the last 10,000 years, we’ve been into something new. Not genetic information, not genetic mutation, not natural selection, but epigenetic activity: writing, theatre, poetry, internal linkdance, art, tattooing, body piercing and philosophy. And these things have accelerated the ingression into novelty …quote]

# Whew! I have to admit, we’re dancing on the brink and not impressively conscious of it… I suppose this is the great bifuraction, some may go mad, some may enter into a new state of advanced consciousness, but we will certainly be scathed by what is to come… and possibly we will have to enter a time of great environmental trial, we may so granted the rarest of human opportunities, to see humans and environment enter one of those rare world historical totalisms… some have said that the great volcanic eruption at Santorini which obliterated the Minoan civilization also was such a profound, direct shock it brought about a new form of consciousness, a waking up expressed in the birth of greek philosophy, and similar things have been said about the mental impact of the Plague… man had to conceptualize anew, his former God or gods (including technology) no longer could satisfy some basic curiosity, or doubt…

Well, ya know… THE thing is to discover your own true measures of a well lived life, which may diverge considerably from the messages, conscious and unconscious, that you have been indoctrinated with… IMHO… the real secret in in coming to that point of self understanding, then other things like relationships come quite naturally, because you are being the thing that you truly are…
…
Ummm… it was, and remains a process of self dicovery, learning to be “internally connected”, or moving forward as a congruent unit of intention, as well as externally connected, really listening to and getting other people, particulary being able to step into and out of other frames of reference as circumstances require… even now, approaching my 51st year, I seek out the best treachers, some demanding as hell, hard to find, who are teaching me things of astounding power that I can only half appreciate at the moment… so I assume that being in a position of curiosity, flexibility, skillfulness… you will find that when you have certain exceptional skills recently learned, or “installed” as they like to say, they may be also so subtle and transparent that no one is aware of any doing-ness… there’s only this elegant flow of energy back and forth… and if you work on some good synaethesa skills you can track it by color shifts, the energy gently shifting from reds, oranges, indigos, blues… I mean by this some kind of high level phenomenal mapping that the brain is doing to organize its experience…

I always enjoyed reading his posts, but damn at times its reminiscent of Dennis MIller in his heyday. You enjoyed his stuff, laughed your ass off, but sometimes your head hurt a bit after wards from all the work…will be sorely missed.

\> What social filters select for cool, intresting people?

varies, you know… we monkeys are a faddish bunch, so what’s the “it
thing” is always in flux… there’s a sort of instinct for the moment…
the real trick here is to find a social maven, one of those near
professionally in touch human radars… some go full on professional and
become party promoters, event planners… who know where the real action
is versus the pseudo action… every social universe has its’ event
producing caste… they are a subculture with their own codes and ways,
who hold the keys to the kingdom… even Lord Chesterfield in his letters
to his dysfunctional bastard son, makes mention of this critical “access
person” who one must cultivate with infinte care…

Weird! I could have sworn I posted asking if I can archive and add this to the tacitus thread Olfact started with his poem. Would that be ok PQ?

It’s absolutely amazing how many times I have come back to this thread as a research guide. Brilliant stuff in here, just brilliant.

Things I’ve learned on the way
when I was younger I only had ONE perspective… my big fat EGO… how sad is that ? With age and infirmity comes, hopefully, the appreciation to see relationships, personal interactions, communities, as the coming together of many perspectives… some you can easily understand and appreciate, some you can’t… now I try to see the moment from each participant’s _probable_ perspective (excuse the alliteration)… I will never know in absolute detail how each sees reality so it is a best guess thing… if a sexy girl shows me some interest I still ask myself as many questions as I can think of about her, who is she ?, what does she want ?, what are her fears ? what do I mean to her ? what else is going on in her life ? does she want to be rescued from a bad relationship ? does she need a sperm donor so she can have her baby ? a green card perhaps ? a wise old savior figure ? a sugar daddy ? someone to show her how she can piece her life togehter ? how deep is she ?, can she hold my interest with more than her appearance ? is she rigidly defined by some external image or is she capable of growth ? does she welcome the chance to grow or does will she only motivate herself to grow and change as a last resort ? Does she have a quick spontaneous wit or does she repeat a list of cliches ? Is she highly adaptable or does she only function in a pre-defined environment, her “comfort zone”, does she have good taste in clothes, people, ideas, beliefs or is she crude ? Can she offer insightful constructive criticism or does she just get pissed off and say needless things ? does she have any idea how to make a good relationship work ? Is she empathetic ? I really, really, really like to get tot the bottom or halfway to the bottom of such questions before becoming all tangled up THEN finding out…

Face it, a lot of guys, probably the majority of guys, are poorly attuned to minimal cues and what they might imply. So they have a memorized routine… be cocky and funny be cocky and funny be cocky and funny… and they pour more of this on at every turn, and the woman is thinking “what is wrong with this doofus he isn’t listening to me ?” or more like “this pompous jerk is so into his shallow self there’s no room for me in this conversation”… or “this guy is hiding behind such an blatantly bad act” that they feel dumped on, overloaded with stuff they don’t care about, or they could see better on the Lifetime Channel… from experience with many combinations of -mones the best connections are built from simple, uncomplicated, organic interchange, underacted, underplayed, kind of minimal and rich at the same time… because I think at the root of it, all of us want to be “felt”, understood, gotten, acknowledged as a person, valued for what we are… good verb, to value.. the pheromone may create that opening where it is okay to express something more intimate and personal in the middle of an impersonal world, you know in a world full of cell phones and gadgets blinking shit, ring tones, poses, celebrity cribs, and in the middle of all that crap a moment opens up and somebody snaps to what you’re about… that’s cool, that’s mystical… if you can get yourself in that place, and you have the -mones as your trusty allies that will then put demands on your skills… -mones are funny that way because they open up so many more possibilities that you might not have been prepared for, how many people have written “she was agitated/flustered/aroused whatever and I didn’t know what to do next” ?

“it” is Awareness, take it for granted that most people are half asleep 90% of the…
time.

There are those who love and cling to their Comfort Zone and there are those who step to the edge, in an intelligent way (very often, in our media culture, “edgy” means taking unnecessary risks or acting out in childish, demanding, offensive ways… like in the 60s we had the same delusions about being “creative”… as in any useless, self indulgent crap was justified as long as you were being “creative”… man we saw some awful bad self expression as a result…phew!)… so, a guy whose joined up with the Special Forces may have pushed his edge in one way, a guy who’se gone through the Defense Language School and mastered Pashto, then joined a Buddhist monestary and lived there for five years… that guy has seriously pushed his edge where one push means grasping a perspective 180 degrees out of phase with his first one… it’s deeper that switching out one look for another look, you have to figure out ways of living that open up your head to the complexities and ambiguities of life… 'cause too many life situations are narrow and mentally narrowing… and fashion and lifestyles and things like that are marketed as pseudo freedoms from all these ghettos our heads can become frozen in… unltimately what distinguishes you is having something to say that is real, personal, specific, and valuable that you and you alone could have learned and mastered from living.

Out there in the real world you need social skills like never before
If you’re Donald Trump you can have a free pass on the oversized ego and still have people happy to call you MISTER Trump and even he’s a lot mellower and politically savvy behind the scenes… the man is, however, seriously determined to achieve his goals. Time Magazine recently had an article on what it took to succeed. The one quality that stood out above all others was _tenacity_, the power to motivate yourself and stick to a project. If you have a huge ego and no tenacity, you’re a massive jerk waiting to be blown off. Develop abilities, learn to cook, (something, anything… have about 6 things you can do as well as any restaurant), ballroom dancing is excellent, you have to learn to sense fine changes in your partner and flow as a unit (is there any wonder that once upon a time this art was considered essential to social development ? ) ,live overseas and experience people who aren’t exisiting in your political groove, join a Second City or Upright Citizens Brigade improv group and flex your comedic skills… anything… multiple anythings, get out of your rut as many ways as you possibly can before it is dug so deep there’s no way to see over the top.

it’s your blind spots that knock you into the ditch
there are soooo many times when I’ve personally seen someone who had most of the ingredients for success in business, with women or men, socially, any interpersonal area, blown clean out of the water by some tendency or quirk that they can’t see or refuse to see. There was a sexy girl who had the worst, most obnoxious, piercing laugh that she would squawk out every 30 seconds, it was like she was unconsciously trying to piss everbody off, which she did an excellent job of, or a guy I remember from a corporate setting who was constantly licking his lips in the weirdest way, like he was expressing a forbidden fantasy nonstop, everybody just ran from this guy… or in character acting classes where someone changes place with me and I with him, I take on his persona and he takes on mine, it was really shocking to see myself the first time this way, good and bad, warts and all… I instantly got why others would respond to me the way they did, straighened my ass up real quick… dayummmm, I was coming off like THAT ! Ahem… cough… OUCH!!!

maybe we should all read :
VITAL LIES SIMPLE TRUTHS: The Psychology of Self Deception by Daniel Goleman

there’s a great chasm between authority and intimidation
Authority comes from many things, having good judgement and being recognized for it, being a good leader, a sense of fairness, basically being seen as a quality person who has the guts to take care of things that others might shy away from, being a good negotiator, not constantly having to overcompensate for something missing by putting on a big macho act… authority is something that people sense but can’t define…

Intimidation or being overbearing is different material, it’s based on missing the capacity to feel what someone else is going through or rule through brute thuggishness.

If you have real authority you rise to the top of organizations, if all you’re riding on is a capacity to intimidate the best job you’ll get is the bouncer or doorman at a club, or the equivalent of that.

People with authority are excellent listeners, although they aren’t pushovers, they know how to analyse situations, and they aren’t easily offended, because they know the value of just criticism and the importance of hearing things that the don’t immediately agree with.

Intimidators hear criticism (or just plain accurate observations) as a personal affront, let me rephrase that, they DON’T hear criticism… they tune it out, shout it down, or banish it from their little kingdoms… they love to tell others what jerks and assholes they are, especially persons who aren’t in a position to respond directly… they eventually WILL learn one of the most basic rules of life…

Goes like this: “be nice to the people you meet on your way up, because you’ll meet them again on your way down”

no truer words were ever spoken.

hese are lightweight superficial behavioral skills
I hate to break it to you in the sense that these seduction lessons aren’t going to take you far. If you’re serious you must study with serious teachers. That means you have to take acting class with peers who intend on moving up to professional acting.

More news U can use. There isn’t one acting teacher out there who has it all. Each coach has his or her strengths. You generally have to study with three or four GOOD teachers to be well rounded.

If these self described behavior teachers are half, shoot, one quarter as good as they dream of being, they’d be working and making a rewarding living in the industry, and they’d have women slipping them their phone numbers 'cause nothing turns women (or men, depending on your game) on like real success, and real success derives from one thing, and one thing only, that is real, demonstable competence.

Are we on the same page yet ? Assuming we are, you desire to master these abilities ?

Start researching GOOD acting schools, coaches, intensive seminars, voice production, body language. First point… real teachers are looking for real students. They don’t have time for phonies, assholes, or corner cutting losers. They won’t lift a finger unless you are willing to COMMIT to their study.

Alright, there’s another side to this story. Many teachers are good, even excellent in one side of the work but may be weak or limited in another. It is normal to be incredibly frustrated and/or pissed off with a teacher who can’t or won’t break down a skill into learnable steps or hides behind a mass of overblown acting spiel.

You have to get off your can and find the teacher(s) who know what you need to know and work hard to learn it. Forget all the labels, stanislavski, meisner, adler, bla bla bla… those are just designer tags.

I heard teacher after teacher slinging poo about “listening” and how important it was to know how to “listen” but nobody could explain what they were talking about, although everybody agreed that “listening” was the core skill that divided good, great, mediocre, and terrible actors (you might be mentally extending this to success with women, and you’d be right to think that). Eventually I found myself sufficiently disgusted with the Nth acting teacher using hollow language about “THE WORK” and “being present in the moment” and observing them throw their acting coach tantarums when the student didn’t get it, so I called and called and asked and poked around until I found a teacher who, VOILA!, listened (for real, not faking it to enroll yet another sucker in their glorious academy) and could CONSISTENTLY demonstrate high level listening skills, and was interested enough to work with the student to teach listening skills…

Not as easy as it looks, as this is demanding of the teacher, takes genuine interest and feeling (most high volume schools have teachers phoning it in, but they’re good enough actors that they make it appear that they’re involved… and you wonder why you have a hard time “getting it”… surprise, it’s because they’re not feeling it… now you know, OK?) and YOU have to be willing to listen and learn…

You might try vocal training
I know I have talked myself blue in the face about the value of actor’s training in ANY social interaction. Every one of these how to get women books and courses is essentially a subset of actor’s training.

Here are two suggestions. If you have the motivation, time, and spare funds, take a class in comedy improvisation. Humor taks a lot of chops to do right, meaning to say that you’re not desperately struggling to be funny or pull weak laughs out with dull tongs, rather that you have the intuition to be spontaneously funny. Humor is about the greatest social asset one could have. Make people laugh and they’ll overlook almost anyth ing else… well, up to a point.

Second suggestion, highly important for a young man or woman who wants to get places in life, DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR VOICE, DUDE…

The ironic thing is that we have mirrors everywhere and we preen ourselves constantly, shoot, put a mirror in a cage of chimpanzees and they will be fully absorbed with the mirror.

A miniscule minority of civilian people, those not directly working in media or entertainment, listen to their own voices on a regular basis. We don’t have too many “voice mirrors” around us to clue us in on how we come off to others when we speak.

TOO MANY physically attractive young men and women have MEDIOCRE voices, some have horrible voices. You need , at minimum, a good recorder and a good microphone so you can replay your voice, and voice study materials, and then you have to work hard at it so you sound natural. If you have the opportunity, get a voice coach and take lessons for a couple of months. A good coach will identify your weaknesses and provide you with lessons to correct them.

A good voice is NOT an artifical “deepened” or macho basso or try to come off like a heavy dude voice, it DOES have a balance of fundamental and overtones, smooth rhythm, sinuousness, musicality. Women hear a great voice and they’ll go DIHL without a drop of pheromones.

I did have the chance to observe why some men had repeatedly better results with women. Those with compelling voices could be somewhat less physically attractive, even a bit dicey in their general comportment, however their voice quality would break through the deflector shield more than what they were specifically saying.

suggest you find a real voice teacher
Home study programs may be good as supplemental training. Voice teachers come in two flavors There are the spoken voice teachers, who are closer to speech pathologists, often they specialize in accent elimination. Remember the great BRITISH actor, Cary Grant, whose real name was Archie Leach and grew up a poor working class Brit… yeah, Archie had good voice teachers. He learned how to speak American, moved to California…

Then there are singing teachers, who should teach you two things, voice production AND ear training… I mean, HOW are you going to know what to do if you can’t distinguish between tones ?

A good teacher must have a good ear. He or she will find YOUR “center tone” and then play it on a keyboard or piano.

You’ll learn to hum your center tone, not as easy as it seems , to make a good pure hmmmmmmmmmmm tone, then the teacher starts moving around the keyboard, finding the limit of you natural range, then gradually moves you above it and below it, you slowly learn HOW to gracefully make micro-pitch changes with your voice.

Now, friends, I will tell you, gratis, one of the all time most powerful vocal seduction tools… one that those “how to” courses probably don’t have a clue about…

It is hard to do UNLESS you have a good teacher who can gradually teach you how.

Here it is… a sexless voice, the never get laid voice, lacks controlled micro pitch variation, a voice that takes you places, connects with people on an emotional level, is rich in micro tonal variation. What this means is fine, but meaningfully controlled larynx modulations that give a voice musicality. When women have that in their voices, guys melt when they hear it. When women hear it they feel a powerful unconscious tug “YES!!! GIVE ME YOUR SEED!!!”…

I think this is due to an evolutionary fact that a loose, flexible , strong voice apparatus somehow indicates superior health and superior genetics whereras a flat dry voice gives of a tattered plumage signal…

For that reason you should be cautious about depending on one size fits all voice courses on the internet.

that all depends on a multitude of factors
I guess this first thing is that you learn what causes a voice to communicate an emotional “tone”. A good teacher understands how the larynx operates as a coordinated set of muscles. The average person doesn’t know which throat muscles do what or how. When you have become educated about muscle use you could leave off your training and regardless you would know what parts of your voice mechanism have become weak, what you would need to do to get it back. Typically, one doesn’t know about the coordinations that make good voices sound the way that they do.

It is important, actually it is essential, to find a teacher you like personally and enjoy working with. If there isn’t a good rapport you won’t get the interest level you need to make progress.

In another way, I think you’ll find that good (read: socially productive, fortune enhancing) behaviors are self encouraging. If you begin to do something well, and maybe you were never aware of how your life was being controlled by this skill or lack of it, your life starts to change so you receive major positive feedback to do more of what is bringing you luck. Quick example: I went to the store today to buy some winter clothes. The customer in front of me was being a flaming prick. The cashier was in a vile mood when I stepped up to the register. I started talking to her lightly about the labels, nothing of any profound depth. I could watch her relax and get back into her positive groove so she was pretty OK by the time we were done. If I had been in my old tone she may have been more bent out of shape and I would have been walking around thinking how was it that so many people are perpetually bent out of shape, when they were reacting to my unconsciousness about my tone. It is finally dawning on me why I had a hard time connecting with girls when I was younger, I sounded like a perpetually irate, narrow minded, white trash hick and nobody wanted to know from my sensitive inner self Powerful stuff you’re working with here. Do not underestimate. Will it be the blue pill or will it be the red pill ?

Now you positively gotta check this one out
there is a behavioral consulting company in New York City called First Impressions. Among their services they have a dating simulation. A psychologist meets with you in a public area, a restaurant or something, and you have a pretend date for two or three hours. Then the psychologist prepares you a detailed report of your communication styles, strengths, weaknesses and which specific behaviors, attitudes, personal approaches are hindering the way other potential (mates, girl/boyfriends, hookups, business associates, and so on) will perceive you IN SPITE OF how you believe you are perceived. I read their book where they detail the long list of behaviors we have that we think are sending positive or neutral signals that are in fact turning people off, shutting down communication, running the interaction into the ground… I guess the take home message is that the great majority of us don’t have high quality feedback that will let us fine tune our presentation, and that many of us suffer life long “social underachievement” as a direct result… and that’s a horrifying thought…

here ya go :

looks as if the choice is between getting old in an interesting way and getting old in a crusty way. One thing that pheromones do for me is they allow for better communication with people half my age who normally shut you out as the old alien. Having a wide range of people open up to you and share their inner lives is a good youth tonic. Too may people are age range bound. They can only communicate with others in their narrow age group. Thats the beginning of social isolation which is a damaging psychological condition. Pheromones and prohormones when used wisely, in moderation are a way to feel like you still belong to the human race. I did happen to link up with a beautiful young woman with an astronomical I.Q. who like to do interesting life things with me. Man, talk about the odd couple. Guys could not believe what they were seeing. Young bucks were trying to get her attention, old men were sneaking glances right and left. I have to admit that I felt self conscious as all hell. You hear jokes about the old man gets the young bombshell but to experience the reality of it is another story. It can become a little weird. Other people are seriously contemplating, what does that middle age guy have that I don’t ? It doesn’t fit the public expectation. You quickly realize how much more energy a 25 yeal old has. You have to work your butt off to keep up with them. They can stay up all night and eat greasy crap without ill effect. They want to go see stupid movies they think are profound. I started to get a renewed respect for maturity and the wisdom of age, too.

then you have to clean up your messy life
older guys who have lived to tell the tale know this basic fact of life… it is easier to get yourself into sticky situations than it is to get yourself out of them..there are those people out there who transform into new beings as soon as you’ve had sex with them… sometimes that can be really cool and there are situations where that can be scarily uncool. That’s the real reason everybody isn’t jumping into the sack ten minutes after the first tempting glance… another lesson from the old farmhands…when you feel like a mysterious force is holding you back that can be a good thing, a deep message from your unconscious mind that this hook up might not be in your best interest.

it sounds like a healthy start
pay close attention to the _critical_ detail in what I wrote above… micro tonal variation. The other factors you spoke of in the course, resonance, tempo are important. They are like the exterior structure of your voice, you have to work on them too.

Micro-tonality is the interior structure of your voice. You do have to put the exterior pieces in place before you can focus in on micro tone.

I appreciate that it is hard to do unless you practice one of the voice arts, from singing to commercial voice over… a beautiful woman I know was a professional singer who wanted to restart her career. Told me that she allowed herself TWO YEARS of practice before she was back “in voice” and ready to perform.

Assuming you want to connect with women instead of becoming a singer you don’t need that much training. You will need some. I would make a concerted effort within your budget, buy a full fledged home study voice course, a book or two, maybe ten hours of voice coaching if there’s a teacher in the area.

You’ll know you have found “it” when other people show increased interest when you talk… I am convinced that there is an “auditory pheromone” that is fundamentally hypnotic. When most people hear it they enter into an alpha state. One woman told me that she had a hard time being around me as whenever I spoke she found herself entering a light hypnotic trance. Now I kid her by using my Mickey Mouse voice when I’m around her.

Imagine what happens when you mix this with a good phero hit
08-22-2004, 10:30 AM

now in my second month of hard ass vocal training
obviously, this is not an interest or an option for everyone. It is part of my semi-professional life (face it, theater arts are not known for their income producing reliability, enjoyable as they may be for other reasons, if you score big, more power to you, if you don’t, well, don’t quit your day job)

My teacher has been recording my voice with each training session, where we work with microphones as one would in a soundbooth. After two months of committed work, I literally cannot recognize my own voice. The bass registers and the overtone structures have opened up to the point where it makes my old “naive” voice sound thin and wimpy, and frankly,
none too sexual.

This is the functional equivalent of major plastic surgery in the realm of voice production. The beauty of it is that it is healthy, increasing lung capacity and breath coordination, lower cost by far, and works so well that it is damned scary.

People just want to hang around me and listen to me talk regardless of the value of what I am saying. Women seem to relax and go into a light daze. Even macho black guys check it out… like, where you comin’ from, man ?

There is a strange feeling of responsibility I have, in a way I am radically more self conscious of how my voice affects people, a slight change in inflection can create a positive feeling and lift another person up, a totally unintentional tonal shift can really wound someone, I honestly never had this communicative power, and I feel like an uncoordinated teenager having to relearn how to interact socially. I must now stop myself before I speak and think about how this thing I am about to say will be interpreted. I know that if I say something even slightly stupid or thoughless, its stupidity will be magnified tenfold.

As you may be thinking, when you change your “social power” you must take responsibility for chaning your whole self, you values, your ethics, the meanings behind what you say. Being socially invisible, being a nonentity, lets you get away with a lot of mediocrity, and the bad habits accumulate.

I honestly can say that I never dreamed of this outcome, both how liberating it would turn out to be, or the new demands it would impose. Such is life.

You want to study Improvisation (often called Improv). This is a class exercise where the group suggests a dramatic moment of some form, say, you are both walking your dog and happen to have identical breeds and bump into each other and then you have to invent the conversation for a minute of two. Improv isn’t scripted. There is no memorizing lines. You take the situation as it is given to you and invent the dramatic interaction. You’ll learn a huge amount about how to socially improvise on your feet. If the teacher is good, he or she will give you feedback on what you need to work on, where to focus you attention, how to get unstuck from a dead spot in the scene, how to change rythms, what an emotional beat is. It’s super basic nuts and bolts work on how to be social in an effective way. Imagine that you have to do a scene where you try to pick up a beautiful girl in front of a class of twenty people. Think you’re self conscious now ? Then those twenty people tell you in detail what your strengths and weaknesses are. You can’t get better instruction than that. Actors are paid on the basis of how well they can communicate emotion. They work hard to master it. If you’re exceptionally good you make 20 million dollars to do it in front of a camera. The actors that are paid millions have gone to their share of classes. How many of your friends would you pay money to watch them try and hook up with a girl, that it would be that compelling a performance ?

Did the emergence of patent offices and intellectual property law transform the way cultures thought about the economic value of ideas ? Living things in contact with the air must acquire a cuticle, and it is not urged against cuticles that they are not hearts; yet some philosophers seem to be angry with images for not being things, and words with not being feelings. Words and images are like shells, no less integral parts of nature that are the substances they cover, but better addressed to the eye and more open to observation. I would not say that substance exists for the sake of appearance, or faces for the sake of masks, or the passions for the sake of poetry and virtue. Nothing arises in nature for the sake of anything else; all these phases and products are involved equally in the round of existence…

This remind me of one of my favorite books, Timothy Leary’s _The Intelligence Agents_. It’s about a particular type of person very similar to these “super change agents.” The odd thing about it is that it is written in such a way that only the tiny fraction of the population about whom the book is written would ever think it to be anything but drug-induced craziness. Half of the book is made up of magazine articles supposedly published in the future, with liberal references to the space-faring adventures of “Commodore Leary.” But, with the right kind of eyes, you can find some very interesting insights about how to spread ideas through a modern population.

Robert Anton Wilson used to like to attribute the acceleration of cultural change to the exponential increase in information:

> Our psychic universe is expanding even more rapidly than the physical universe. Let us define the measurement of known scientific facts in the year 1 A.D. as “one jesus,” using the name of the celebrated philosopher born that year.
>
> Before going any further, let us ask how long it took to arrive at one jesus. One way of estimating is to take the estimated age of homo sapiens, in which case it took 40,000 to 100,000 years.
>
> How long did it take to double this accumulation of knowledge, to achieve two jesuses? It required 1500 years - until 1500 A.D. How long did it take to double again and obtain four jesuses? It required 250 years, and we had four jesuses in our larder by 1750.
>
> The next doubling took 150 years, and by 1900 A.D. humanity had eight jesuses in our information account. The next doubling took 50 years, and by 1950 we had 16 jesuses. The next, ten years, and by 1960 we had 32 jesuses. The next doubling took seven years, and by 1967 we had 64 jesuses. And the next doubling took 6 years; by 1973 we have 128 jesuses.
>
> There is no reason to imagine that the acceleration has stopped. Thus, we almost certainly reached 256 j around 1978-79 and 512 j in 1982.
>
> In short, we are living in a mental transformation space; that is, an omnidimensional halo expanding toward infinity in all directions. And the electronic center of this halo of mentation is possibly everywhere. It is all available to you right where you are sitting now. Just plug in a terminal. The machine doesn’t care who or what you are.

Of course, greater connectivity has unforeseen consequences in rendering unviable existing institutions, cultures and other arrangements of social capital. Nature has Her Seasons: at Midsummer, and looking back a long way, the Whig theory of history ([Whig history - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whig_history)) can from time to time seem a most compelling story. But summer doesn’t last for ever, and when bleak winter comes the optimism of past can seem like blind delusion. Let us enjoy the remaining few decades of summer and early autumn whilst we can.
