😮 [Home](http://www.moodalert.com) **Daily Mood Alert.** **News: Major earthquakes follow Equinox** ([http://www.moodalert.com/#quake1ab](http://www.moodalert.com/#quake1ab)) [Why the Spring/Autumn change can be so unsettling.](http://www.moodalert.com/#Season) **25th - 26th March 2007** This continues to be an atmosphere of heightened moods and feelings with an increased sense of awareness. As a result this can lead to tense, anxious, irritable, or aggressive moods and feelings with a very definite sense of zest and vigour. In addition there may be a strong element of mental confusion with clashing thoughts and emotions, together with sharpened impulses or intuitive impressions. The worst element of this present emotional climate is the clash of two separate mood factors. One is a dynamic and ambitious atmosphere with a strong desire for action, promoting keen and determined thoughts with heightened optimism. By contrast the other is a mood of reduced enthusiasm with doubts, insecurity, misgivings and pessimistic inclinations. It means that although there may be plenty of inspiration towards new and exciting ventures, or the reinvigoration of existing ones, there will also be that restraining hand - probably the effects of Saturn - that hold back or inhibit the fullest expression of these endeavours. Inevitably this may promote a frustrating atmosphere with melancholia, depression and feelings of futility. Hence there may be highly stimulating atmosphere that may also be laden with lack of resolve and a debilitating inertia that stifles forward progress. **Other elements of this mood may tend towards a cruel, unscrupulous, bullying nature; strongly aggressive and with very self centred thoughts and desires. In these circumstances there is always the chance of contentious encounters, arguments, and volatile exchanges that when initiated may become extremely forceful with little restraint in what is said or done. This climate may also stimulate acts of premeditated revenge or thoughts of retribution that even if not carried out may create simmering resentments and animosity that will not be easy to forget.** **Under the current conditions with a high degree of nervous energy there may be a tendency towards increased alcohol consumption, and although this will not dramatically heighten moods, it may add a degree of friction to personal relationships.** Tasks and activities requiring a high degree of physical application will be preferred over those needing high mental dexterity as there will be poor concentration and a natural restlessness that favours physical pursuits. Artistic talents could be extremely well indicated with the possibility of heightened creative abilities. Similarly there will a heightened sense of mystical and spiritual awareness with psychic presentiments and enhanced intuition, with the possibility of very vivid dreams or nightmares. Much of the current atmosphere is the result of the alignment between Mars and Neptune (see pic below ([http://www.moodalert.com/#pict](http://www.moodalert.com/#pict))) - both of which are in opposition to Saturn - as well as the Equinox of several days ago, and the lingering effects of numerous major planetary alignments, in one of the most concentrated periods of celestial activity for a very long time. As such we have a highly complex emotional atmosphere capable of quite baffling contrasts. Alert is 7.5. Moon 52% illuminated. **Major Earthquakes follow Equinox.** On numerous occasions we have warned that this period with its exceptional forces forms the ideal recipe for major earthquakes. Inevitably these have not been slow to materialise and the last few days have seen at least four major earthquakes, details of which can be found below: 23rd March Magnitude 6.6 Marcshall islands Region. 23rd March Magnitude 6.2 North Pacific Ocean. 25th March Magnitude 7.2 Vanuatu Islands. 25th March Magnitude 7.1 Nearv West Coast of Honshu. **Seasonal changes.** The change of season either into Spring or Autumn, according to whichever hemisphere you may be in has important implications for ones general state of mind. Spring signifies the re-birth of nature, and is the time of brighter days, and one would have thought brighter feelings. However this is not always the case and Spring is well known for a general increase in suicides and incidence of depression. Part of the reason for this may be due to the fact that feelings that have long lain dormant through the Winter months now begin to regenerate with double vigour causing agitation, depression or feelings of not coping. As a result anxieties may proliferate, with a vicious circle of emotions that for some may bring them close to crisis point. This usually has a focus around the Spring Equinox, but can last well into April, before feelings begin to settle down again. In the Southern hemisphere it may be the melancholia of darkening days that creates the problems - a general toning down of emotions prior to the even darker days of winter. In these circumstances feelings quite naturally undergo a subtle trasformation, and although most are able to absorb this with few difficulties, a signicant minority may experience problems of depression or melancholia. Once again these will be largely focused on the weeks around the time of the Spring/Autmn Equinox. **Current celestial pattern. (Updated 25 th March)** The current position of the planets shows Mars aligned with Neptune, whilst also being in opposition to Saturn.
