Specialisterne: leveraging the unique skills of Autistics at competitive market t Jacob ‘Jake’ Holmes is another artist that is supported by Morganton, North Carolina’s _Singature Studio_ and the _Enola Group_. It looks like he seems to be really excelling in a supporting environment where he can be himself without having to fit into the mainstream… > [@](#): > > …Diagnosed with Autism at four years of age, Jake … is inspired by scenes involving policemen and other people he meets in his daily life. He often depicts these people in his work, with their name written above their likeness. Upon meeting someone new, he will ask their date of birth and will effortlessly calculate which day of the week the birthday falls upon. On any given day, Holmes will be working on a birthday card for a friend or acquaintance. Signature Studio gives him the recognition, resources, and time for his talents. For Holmes, his whimsical work serves as a direct mode of documenting and communicating his life and interests. > > Most recently, Holmes is strongly influenced by Asian art, and surrounds himself with Japanese prints and floral designs… Some of Jake Holmes’ work can be viewed here: [Artwork of Jacob “Jake” Holmes](http://enolagroup.org/artwork/of/8/jacob-jake-holmes.html) [Jacob Holmes](http://www.signaturestudionc.com/jake-holmes) (source: [Signature Studio](http://www.haywoodarts.org/component/content/article/7-gallery-86-events/62-signature-studio.html)) --- _[View the full topic](https://pheromonetalk.com/t/specialisterne-leveraging-the-unique-skills-of-autistics-at-competitive-market-terms/50245)._
