In a couple of recent posts, I mentioned Kristin Selby Gonzalez, chairman of the nonprofit organisation, _Autism Hope Alliance (AHA)_. Gonzalez has already and, in her current role, will continue to conduct many free lectures nationally and internationally. These are on topics like enzyme therapy, diet, biomedical interventions, and educational therapy for Autism.

Gonzalez has an Autistic son, Jaxson, and is certified in the _Wilbarger Protocol_…

He is a child with tactile issues (wouldn’t wear his shirt), auditory issues, and difficulty with any sudden change in his environment. I discovered a protocol called the Wilbarger Protocol that helped him with his tactile issues. It is a brushing technique where you use a specially designed brush and follow up with joint compression. This is done every two hours. We did this protocol for nine months, and he now has no issues wearing his shirt. In fact, he actually loves picking out what he is going to wear…

Indeed, proper application of the _Wilbarger Protocol_ may address tactile defensiveness issues which are common in Autism Spectrum Disorders; I have mentioned such issues in previous posts on [clothes designed to minimise irritation](https://pheromonetalk.com/t/specialisterne-leveraging-the-unique-skills-of-autistics-at-competitive-market-terms/50245/141), and [modifying clothing items in order to make them ‘softer’ via the use of Undercover Tape](https://pheromonetalk.com/t/agricultural-specialisterne-rural-employment-revolution-for-those-with-autism/50615/342).

Here are links to two videos where this massage-like ritualistic process is utilised on children with Autism:
