\*\*Specialisterne (Danish for ‘Specialists’) seeks to harness strengths that many people with Autism Spectrum Disorders possess - good attention to fine details, precision, and high tolerance for repetitive tasks. Their consultants bring the joy of work into areas where it is often missing.🙂

One way for Specialisterne’s consultants to develop themselves is via the use of various therapies for Autism Spectrum Disorders. Indeed, there are a myriad of different treatments for Autism. The 67 chapters of _Cutting-Edge Therapies for Autism 2011-2012_ present various therapies and innovations in Autism treatment. Written by Ken Siri and Tony Lyons, fathers of children with Autism, the book is a compilation of Autism interventions presented by more than 40 contributors.

_AutismTrack_ is a mobile journaling program for parents of those with autism, who might be trying a number of different interventions simultaneously. The iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) app helps parents spot trends:

> …“AutismTrack” …helps caregivers monitor a person’s behavioral and communication progress, along with their medications, supplements, dietary alterations or therapies…

> With multiple reporting features, this information can then be reviewed and shared, to help parents and other caregivers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders …answer the ongoing and ever-puzzling question: “What seems to be working, and what’s not?”

_AutismTrack_ was developed by Dan Tedesco’s _HandHold Adaptive_, a company that believes that assistive technology has potential beyond ‘direct use’ by those with disabilities like Autism. They have developed a niche in ‘caregiver tools’ - however, as mentioned by Tedesco, there have been exciting ‘direct uses’ of their products.

There is no reason why _AutismTrack_ could not be used by Autistic adults to track their own progress, potentially with feedback from others like health professionals, as they try various interventions in order to develop themselves.
