The movie was great without a doubt. PLENTY of references to the classic Star Trek for Trekkies but self-contained enough that anyone who likes Sci-Fi or Action flicks should be happy. ---

I know of people lambasting this movie for raping their inner child or somesuch, and while I believe all are entitled to an opinion, I feel sorry for those who can’t get past an almost religious clinging to cynicism, preventing them from finding that which is good in anything. I don’t know ANYTHING about Star Trek but this movie looks killer. A friend of mine said that they did more than do the original actors (and show) justice as he mentioned that they _surpassed_ it! One of the best movies/remakes ever he mentioned, and he grew up watching Star Trek. So I need to see it, in IMAX!!! As he mentioned all the awesome special effects, and how the action starts off right away! ---
