ok So I initially got on here to try the social mones. . . but reading and exploring over the past few days, I’ve begun to wonder about some of the sexual ones.

Here is my situation. I am on the pill. I have been for 13 years (medical necessity) with only a very short 6 month break 3 yrs ago.

For the purpose of my description and questions, I want to divide arousal into 3 categories. Intellectual, Emotional, and Physical.
Intellectually and Emotionally I am fully engaged, my man is so intellectually stimulating, and the emotional intimacy is AMAZING. Physically though, I can only get “sort of” turned on. (We were together during that 6 month break and that was NOT the case. . .AND as long as I’ve been on the pill, I’ve had this physical issue with other men as well). What I’m trying to say here is the problem lies with me, not him. :o

Is there anything I could try wearing (mone-wise) that might accelerate/escalate my own physical arousal? Or do I need to give up there, and recruit him to start trying mones?

Hmm, unfortunately they don’t carry anything to help one’s own libido, though you could recruit your guy, it might be fun. He could wear TUTH, and you could get some Essence of Woman (EOW) from Love Scents.

Another good idea is to find a physician in your area who does natural bio-identical hormones, and have your hormone levels tested. As we get older, our hormone levels naturally decrease, causing all sorts of nasty things such as weight gain, diminished sex drive, moodiness, etc., etc.

I had mine tested, and found I was low in progesterone and testosterone (even though my sex drive is fine), so my doctor prescribed them for me, they have to be made specially for each person, at what they call compounding pharmacies.

My doctor is female, 78 years old, and has been on them since she was 50. She is totally hot, you would never ever think she was almost 80, and has a great sex drive. One problem happened though, she prescribed me too high a dose of testosterone (which is the one that most directly affects sexual arousal in women) and for a little while there, I was going crazy, since I don’t have a bf right now, I was ready to become the town slut, lol.

I called the compounding pharmacy and asked them if the dosage I was taking was right for my age, and they said no, I only need like half of what my doctor prescribed. I think she, at 78, probably must need that amount to keep her libido up, so she probably just wasn’t thinking when she prescribed that amount for me.

Its a shame that women are not aware that there are better options out there, its the big pharmaceutical companies who keep this healthier and more natural alternative from being too widely known. Since natural bio-identical hormones occur naturally in nature, and are exactly identical to our own bodies’ hormones, the big pharm companies cannot patent them, and thus cannot make money on them.

They would rather that women remain in ignorance of this, and continue buying their artificial, lab-made “hormone replacement” products, which do help with some “symptoms”, but also can have nasty side effects (cancer, weight gain, etc). Many physicians are unaware of this option for women, but if you go to Suzanne Somers’ website, there are lists of reputable physicians that do advocate natural bio-identical hormones.

Anyway, I’d better stop, I could go on about this all day, it’s one of those things that really pisses me off, the way money and greed keep women in ignorance of better, healthier options.

The reason the pill diminishes a woman’s libido is because she stops ovulating therefore she stops making sufficient amounts of copulins.
Copulins will attract and arouse men. They also signal a younger more fertile vibe and the Jutte studies show men score women more attractive visually when they looked at pictures of them while exposed to copulins.

They also can make you feel sexy and more attractive by pheromonally signaling your ovulation which can increase your libido. Its not a total fix but it can help.

I do suggest you mention this to your gyno. There are some newer pills that have less of a effect on women’s sex drive and sometimes you just need to switch brands and that will do the trick.

I know its true. I see a functional medicine practitioner which I love and use a compounding pharmacy as well. I only use a traditional MD if I hurt myself like when I tore my meniscus. I would probably use a traditional doctor in combination with my FMP if I had a serious health condition but so far it hasn’t been necessary which is the whole point of functional medicine.

Thanks for the responses.
Tisha, I can’t switch pills, have tried others in the past, this is the only combo/formulation that doesn’t make me psychotic 🙂

Also this has just occurred to me, but both responses quote diminished libido, which strictly speaking isn’t the problem I was talking about. Libido, being desire or drive.
I have the drive, I have the desire, but physically my body isn’t living up to my end of the bargain. . . diminished returns in terms of physical response/ arousal.

That’s part of your libido though. Its not just about the emotional and mental parts its physical as well. If your missing one it can be a problem.

In addition to copulins I would suggest getting a little bottle of tuth and using a few dabs before sexual encounters.

The BC pill can also increase the levels of something called SHBG (sex hormone-binding globulin), which attaches itself to testosterone in a females bloodstream, making it useless. Testosterone is responsible for much of our drive as well as our arousal. Anone which is in tuth is partly derived from testosterone and may help.

Now I have a personal question and if you dont want to answer thats fine or if you prefer to PM me the answer thats fine as well.

When you talking about lack of arousal I am assuming your want to have sex, your even looking forward to it but the act is not stimulating you. I know some of my girlfriends with this issue and even have complained of dryness as well from taking the pill. There are some other non [pheromone](https://pheromonelabs.com/) fixes for these type problems you can try. Maybe you already have I dont know but I thought I would mention it just in case you haven’t.

I’m on birth control too and have had the same problem as you. One thing I’ve tried is taking DHEA supplements along with Tongkat Ali. DHEA is meant to lower your levels of SBGH that binds to your Testosterone rendering it useless. I went to the doctor to have more hormone levels tested when I complained about the loss of a sex drive and I found out I had the testerone level of an infant. The doctor said I was normal however because there is no agreed upon ‘normal’ levels of testosterone in women. For their test zero testosterone falls in the range of normal! So she sends me away telling me it’s all in my head.

It was only until I looked at my results and started reading medical journal that I figured out what typical levels of testosterone in women look like and found mine to be comparable to that of an infant.

Anyway, I have recently been experimenting with [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) and the experience with the sexual ones are different if you’re on birth control. It seems that no one really posts about it though.

First off, if you do try copulins (essence of a women), which is supposed to make you feel sexy and turn men on (raising their testosterone 150%), you will get no self-effects from them. Most women feel sexier but when you’re on the pill I don’t notice anything.

Tisha suggested having your partner use Turn up the Heat…I tried that last week and NOTHING. I did some reading and found out if you’re on birth control you don’t respond to -none which is primarily what is found in Turn up the Heat.

You should google pheromones and birth control…it really sucks that we don’t even produce our own copulins anymore.

I’m actually trying hard to figure out which sexual one’s work when on the pill. The men will feel the effects of the pheromones but we don’t respond to the sexual ones.

At least the social one’s work though!

I do think its rather ironic though. They find a way to prevent pregnancy and its side effect makes you not want to have sex. Its hard to fool mother nature sometimes.

Probably because every women on the pill is not experiencing it. I just went off two years ago myself after being on it most of my adult life but the [sexual pheromones](https://a314.com/product-category/sensual-pheromones/) especially anone worked fine for me. I think anone aroused me more when I was on the pill then when I went off. Many women I know who use mones have felt the same effect but not every women. Pheromones are not one size fits all unfortunately we are all biologically different.

I think its great your exploring the subject for yourself as well as for other women who face this problem. Both of you would be great candidates for testing the putatives. Who knows there may be one in there that helps in this area so you ladies are forging the way for those who turn to mones later. It will be very interesting to here about your experiences with each of the putatives.

I do have one tip for testing though. Test the whole 5 ml bottle at different dosages before you give up or make a decision. I dont know why but even for those not on the pill sometimes it just takes repeated use before effects occur.

This is a great resource, I live in the northeast myself and I use Marcelle Pick. She is really fantastic. I also have a functional medicine doctor close to home she referred me to. Marcelle can do phone consultations to help you explore your options but she also has tons of great resources in her website.

[Bioidentical hormones come of age — Hormone Replacement Therapy — BHRT](http://www.womentowomen.com/bioidentical-hrt/bioidenticalhormones.aspx)

Word of caution though…

I do think its very important to talk to a functional medicine practitioner though. We are not doctors here so we dont know what effect bioidenticals will have on the effectiveness of the BC pill. The pill stops ovulation so you dont get pregnant and using these could throw the balance off of those pills and cause you to ovulate.

It depends on what the problem is.

For instance if its vaginal dryness there are things to try. Of course various lubricants can help but just increasing your intake of water can make a difference.

Phytotherapy can help. These a different herb or herbal formulas that work wonders. Many mimic human hormones and some bioidenticals are made from them.

Ashwagandha is known as a aphrodisiac, it increases blood flow and lubrication to the southern region LOL Doesnt contridict with BC.

Passion flower and wild yam mimic the actions of progesterone. I drink passionflower tea all the time. Maybe thats why I am so freaking horny all the time LOL … My hubby is sitting here next to me and just offered to buy me as much tea as I like 😛…The scamp.

Satavri root can also help greatly. It increase blood flow to the vagina and is used for many other issues… to many to write out but here is a overview…

> [@Rosemoutainherb](#):
>
> Shatavari is highly regarded as an herb for women’s health and it is the most important herb in Ayurvedic medicine for problems connected to women’s fertility. The name Shatavari is from an Indian word meaning “a woman who has a hundred husbands”. It is used as a menstrual regulator, to help prevent miscarriage, for menopausal symptoms with hot flushes, irritability, irregular memory and dryness, for lactation, loss of libido, infertility, as an aphrodisiac, and for the female reproductive organs Shatavari is also used as a tonic for circulatory, digestive and respiratory organs, ulcers, bronchial infections, diarrhoea, rheumatism, diabetes, bleeding ulcers, gastritis, Crohn’s disease, dysentery with bleeding, dry cough, sore throat, inflammation in the lungs due to dryness and heat, male fertility and impotence, building body mass and muscle tissue, nourishing the blood, the immune system, calming the nerves, and insomnia. Externally it is used to treat stiffness in the joints.

(Please check this one with your doctor first because I am not sure if it will contradict with birth control)

You can also find it in cream form to apply or grind the root up to a powder form and add the some pure non irritating lotion.

The sense of smell can even help.

Certain scents activate certain responses in women. Studies have shown a increase in blood flow by up to 30% to women’s pelvic area from smelling licorice, cucumbers and for some odd reason baby power. Increasing blood flow will increase sensation as well as lubrication.

The creams that Sillykitty has mentioned can help as well and the sight she posted is excellent.

Lets see… I am trying to think off the top of my head…

Licorice tea (not twizzlers those are just suger LOL) Increases blood flow. Dont use it if yiu have high blood pressure though.

There are tantra exercises called sexercises LOL that are just great and can increase libido and well as sexual response. I took a tantra yoga class and frankly this was my favorite part (snort) 😛

Hmmm…on a side note, I mentioned I was on the pill for years and respond to mones fine particularly anone. Maybe its because I take many of these herbs and practiced tantra though so I didnt experience the same effect as women who dont use or practice these. Just a thought.

If you cant find a class I am sure they have video tapes and books that will help.

So there are options to increase sexual health other then pheromones or bioidenticals. I think many people just want a quick fix so they run to the doctor and ask for a pill or something but people have used methods like the ones I mentioned above for centuries with good results. Its worth exploring.

Lol, when I used to be on the pill I thought the same thing…part of its effectiveness is that it makes you not want to have sex, and it also made me gain some weight, I remember.

So you’re fat, with no sex drive! Thats how the pill REALLY keeps you from getting pregnant, lol.

Ok I’m going to share my latest (normally very private) developments in the hopes what the information we share here might be useful to someone.

I can go off hormonal BC!!! (it was an outdated notion that I HAD to be on it with my problems and between my gyno and two other Dr.s we worked it out.) My gyno was NOT pleased. (she is a tool. Bowing to what the pharmaceutical co.'s say is best) I’m not currently in a position to shop for a new gyno (as I am self pay and just shelled out too much for my yearly) but I’ll have a new, more forward thinking one before next year.

my bf and I came up with a plan and implementation timetable based on past experiences and current available knowledge.

Month 1 - no hormonal BC
if things show signs of returning to normal no further action.
if no signs
Month 2- Consult with acupuncturist/ Dr of Chinese medicine get on supplements. (I used to work for an herbalist, so I have enough kowledge to know what not to take)
if after 3 months, no change. . .consult with other Dr. about “Plant based” compounded creams.

I have started wearing cops but interrupted my testing for a few days of basics (Shine and io) haven’t found my sweet spot yet.

Tried TUTH directly on me (worked rather nicely but did give me a vicious “hangover”)
