I am quite shocked at all this ‘mone’ business to be honest. Why don’t more people know about them? There seem to be hundreds of positive users on these forums yet before coming here I thought they were just a bit of a scam!
Obviously there will be a bit of a placebo effect working here with confidence etc, but…I have a dip in biomedicine and am studying naturopathic medicine and nutrition and I can understand the science behind it/ theory.
However, how many ‘double blind’ studies have been done into the efficiacy of pheramones? Double blind so that the placebo effect can be ruled out? I’d really like to read up on some!

Hi lovegin, have you checked out the research subforum?
[Studies & Abstracts - PheroTalk Pheromone Research Forum](http://www.pheromonetalk.com/studies-abstracts/)

Alternatively, go to [Google Scholar](http://scholar.google.com/) and type in human [pheromone](https://a314.com/) or the name of a pheromone plus “human” and see what comes up. Usually you can at least read the abstracts of the papers; some papers are open access. If you are a university student or employee you will have access electronic to scholarly papers through your school’s library.

I think everyone knows about them in one way or another…I mean in college 10 years ago, ask any guy in the gym about [pheromones](https://a314.com/), and they’d say…oh you mean that stuff in the back of the Men’s Health Magazines.??..and they’d laugh at you, tease you…etc. I never used pheromones until last year. But the social pressure of thinking “i cheat” by using mones to get women is a strong mitigating factor to keeping most of the public from even trying them.

Hey Lovegin,

You are reminiscent of me a while back. If anything, I was even more sceptical.

I sought (using Google Scholar) for academic articles/research as well prior to making my purchase (several months ago now) but for some reason there wasn’t any conclusive evidence on whether or not [human pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/) work. (e.g. [Human pheromones: have they been demonstrated?](http://www.springerlink.com/content/18kkgcg9cmg6kmn4/))

In fact, there is even a reputed otolaryngologist that published a book on the matter titled: ‘[The Great Pheromone Myth](http://books.google.com/books?id=oZmk-XWeAn8C&printsec=frontcover&dq=inauthor:%22Richard+L.+Doty%22&hl=en&ei=NimrTcaDAc_qOdKbjcYJ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCoQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false)’, which obviously claims that **synthetic** human pheromones are infeasible.

Despite all of this I decided to forget about the science for once and to give human pheromones a shot anyway. Let me tell you that was no mistake. Pheromones do everything they should do. At least for me that is, apparently pheromones are more/less effective on some than others.

Trust me, I also considered the possibility of human pheromones to essentially be placebo effect in a bottle, but after personally testing these I find it very difficult to believe that they don’t work as advertised. I look out for my own cognitive bias, and I constantly remind myself that just because I get a ‘hit’, doesn’t necessarily imply that the pheros caused it. After all correlation doesn’t imply causation!

Even after my first few days with pheros, after seeing them work on me, I had my doubts. There were still plenty of unanswered questions.

1. Why is there no recent research which proves that synthetic human pheromones work?
2. Why don’t pharmaceutical giants such as GSK come along and turn human pheromones into a multi-billion dollar market?
3. How on Earth does a tiny company like Androtics know how to synthetically create human pheromones while pharmaceutical giants with ludicrously large R&D budgets don’t?

After all these months, I still don’t have any answers to my questions. However, there is no doubt in my mind that pheromones are not a scam. It is literally implausible. On my first day with pheromones, **my first** , I wore instant shine to a party and this girl I barely knew literally said: ‘You have like an aura of happiness around you!’. In my 18 years, no girl has ever said anything along those lines to me before. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fun guy, but still that made me shit bricks. Anyway, that’s just an example, there are obviously many many incidents where pheromones have done good things for me.

Pheromones are among the best things on the planet. Seriously, I can honestly say they’ve changed my life for the better. A few hundred bucks spent on it so far and I’m most definitely addicted!

If you are still dubious, you could always just buy and try a bottle of instant shine first. It shouldn’t set you back too much. However, I think my first pheromone order was around 120€ though. XD

Good luck! I hope my essay =) aids in elucidating this for you.
