hey there, When you get sun burn… how do you treat it? here’s what happened… On saturday i went to a taping of the tv show “Pinks: All Out” - i spent 13 hours listening to cars burn out and run 10 seconds or better in the 1/4 mile. Why i didn’t bring sun screen… i have no damn clue. I’m paying for it BIG TIME now… im blistered on my forehead, cheeks, ears, nose… LITERALLY BLISTERED! so far i’ve put on oatmeal lotions, aruba aloe burn relief, and an expensive moisturizing clinique(sp) lotion - nothing has even touched this. The pain is tolerable as long as im infront of a friggan air conditioner. I’ve already called out of work tomorrow because those nylon hospital scrubs would irritate the shit out of the burns on my back and chest… they aren’t blistering thank-god. You know what made it all worth while? Watching a notch back mustang run 6.8 seconds @ around 220mph in the 1/4 mile… That was intense! Again… any remedies or suggestions? THANKS! ~Haz~ ---

Ouch, sorry about all that discomfort. Anytime I have a sunburn I use Aloe Vera gel. I don’t know about immediate relief (though you might be able to try taking Ibuprophren, it helps reduce any inflammation) the most important thing is to keep moisterized and firmly parked in the shade. I hope your burns start getting better soon. Having had more than my own share I can feel your pain. ---

I spent all day indoors today… until sunset - then ventured out for a few hours. I’ve got 1 more application of aloe tonight before bed… hopefully in a few days this will start to go away ~Haz~ ---

Aloe Vera gel, but make sure its 100% pure organic, if you can find Aloe Vera plant, just cut them open and get the gel from there, very potent and heals anything 😛 ---

Oh Goddess, My husband has done the same thing at the track on more then one occasion. I am always yelling at them to bring there sun screen when they go. You would think he would learn. LOL We used aloe but really nothing but time will heal it. Took about 4 days before he would venture out again. He still had the burn but it wasnt as painful and blistered by then. So besides the burn did you have fun 😃 Tisha ---

Aloe vera gel as often as possible, not just once a day. And definitely use sun lotion next time. But yeah, time is probably the only real remedy, as much as I’d hate to say it. I got my legs burned this summer. The skin peeled off and I wasn’t very happy about turning into a pink lobster. ---

Saturday was one of the best time i’ve had at the track… ever. Just about every car ran 10’s or better… anyone slower than that looked out of place. I will say tho… rich christiansen (the host of pinks) is a friggan tool… he looked like he did a line of blow before he walked out everytime. He couldn’t stop moving, shaking out his arms, his legs… gah. He has the same routine everytime he lines 2 cars up too… step by step 1. Hikes up pants 2. points at both cars then brings arms down fast… 3. re-raises arms over his head 4. drops arms fast (the cars take off now) 5. jumps about 3 inches off the ground for about 5 or 6 times 6. spins around to watch cars while clapping Next 2 cars line up… same routine… it was actually pretty funny ~Haz~ ---

I agree that aloe vera is the best product to heal sun burn. And it has a cool comfortable feeling when you apply too 😉 ---

Good old fashion Noxema works best for face and chest. (original or knockoff store brand) put it on heavy and let it set for a while it will cool and numb your sunburn. (it worked for me after Indy this spring) I have always been partial to Banana boat Coco butter after sun, (formerly Hawaiian tropic) Next time I would suggest more sunblock. ---

OH… i forgot to tell everyone… i was looking at sunblock at a stand while at the track and i was going to buy it and my friend called me over to read a T-shirt that said “Nitrous is like a slut: You wanna hit it but your affraid of the consquences later…” - I laughed and forgot all about the sunblock… ☹ ~Haz~ ---

Sunscreen is like a slut: spreads easily over your entire body, lasts for hours, and is relatively cheap. Get some lidocaine spray and don’t scratch. 🙂 Kitten ---

That sucks man.. just a few weeks ago i went kayaking, and got burned to hell.. got sun poisoning and had welps on my right shoulder had to go to the doctor they gave a shot, but they told me that even though it sucks if you take a hot shower and weather through the pain it will take some of the sting out of the burn and to go get a 24 pack of gatoraid and pound.. I had that sunburn for 2 weeks even after the shot. Also dont drink. ---

It’s all raw under the dead skin too… i think a few more days and i’ll be a lot better. I’ve been moisturizing like a mofo… so much that im actually breaking out now from it… and i can’t dry that up because of the burn… UGH ~Haz~ ---
