I’m already dumb, but why me? Why not someone who values reps and thanks like Tisha23. She keeps hers in a bag and counts them each morning and night 😉

What the hell is it pick on Tisha week and no one told me ☹

I didnt complain once about the rep points. I am holding off on saying anything about the changes. Maybe later today I will finally weigh in on it.

I enjoy and appreciate the reps. Worked damn hard to get them to. but I know my worth and believe me you cant put a number on it.😉

Tish - we all love you. Personally - if I tease you in a post it is purely out of affection - usually hoping you will say something back … my apologies if I said something to make you feel unappreciated …

Its not you LOL 😉 its a accumulation of weird “challenge” Tisha posts this week. No worries, I am not upset. I am having a tough week though. My mother in law passed away yesterday after a long dreadful illness and its been a bit hectic around here.

Thank you for the kind words, I am here to work for the members but I dont work for Androtics so I doubt my opinion matters. Yours would probably have more weight then mine 😛

Well my opinion on the new forum…

The look is nice, more modern and up to date. I like that.

I think its unfortunate they took the rep points totals away but its no big deal you still have them in your back room so you at least know what you have. Messing with the post totals is insulting though (Thats all I will say on that)

I find the Thank you’s impersonal. As far as I can tell you cant write any message with them. Sure I will use them and I appreciate them but I miss the little message that go’s with it that people can write that makes it more personal.

I prefer the old method, I know I worked hard for those reps and like I said I know my worth it comes through in my posts and the time I spend here not in the little number under them.

I like the back profile room with friends and the message box but I find the message box will be hard to use and follow I think the ideal of the social groups a good one but I dont think they should be made private to exclude members. It creates clix’s ( I know I spelled that wrong but you know what I mean) This takes away from the family feel of the forum. Its that feeling that keeps members here and makes them feel comfortable posting personal experiences.

The chat box may be fun but its hard to moderate and already there has been mention of orders in it. It also takes away from reporting but for quick questions it may be good if anyone notices you down there. Again not practical. I would not have added that myself.

If its going to be used then the rules should be stressed. I know rules are frowned on in here but without them misunderstandings occur. Also it would be good to have a time schedule and place a person in there to answer questions about mones like Jasmin, Steve or even me for the more mild questions. Even just weekly, If you post some sort of schedule in the lounge stickies and say something like “Jasmin will be available to answer your mone questions from 5 to 6 PM PST On Nov 6th” It could be kinda cool. That was just a example I know she is a busy lady LOL .

While it makes the atmosphere more fun, which is great, I have nothing against fun, I have always been told that this is a research forum and I feel all the fun doo dads will take away from the purpose we are here. This will make us lose some of the more serious testers and reporters.

What I would like…

I would have like to see more sections added. One for just reporting on the advanced stuff. Open to everyone but with a explanation post at the top as to what the advanced putatives and mixes are for the new users to understand. Perhaps a explanation how to become a reporting user there as well.

A newbie section for them to ask all those repeated questions we see all the time. I dont mind those I try to answer them all but they do clog up the mens and womens area and can be easily missed.

The mens and womens sections can be for general reporting and talk about our combos or whatever else.

I would like to see a section for all the stickies. Steve has mentioned this before because there are some really good posts in here and the stickies are getting large and taking up alot of room on the first page. So having a section for the “best of the best” as he called it would be really nice.

In my opinion this would be more beneficial to both Androtics and to the members looking for information on mones. It will encourage reporting on products while still keeping the fun extras. It would be easier to moderate as well.

I dont know if they are done so maybe some of these things they have planned already. Like I said they dont ask or tell me much.

Whoops I forgot two LOL

The list of names at the bottom of the forum of all the people who have been here today is annoying and takes up valuable room that we could of had one or two of the extra sections added in instead. It adds no real value.

The ticker while cute drives me insane. Its to commercial and most people ignore it anyways. But its always been there so I would say just leave it. After a while you train yourself to ignore it and maybe new people use it. I never did though.

((( Tisha ))) I know you’ve been having a rough time with things lately. I love ya girl. I’m so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>\<\>

OK…sigh. My turn.

The new look of the forum is acceptable. I can get used to that. It’s true the updated look separates us from the standard look of most forums, and that’s good. I guess I misunderstood Jasmin when she said that the Old 3.6.5 Style would still be available, it just wouldn’t have all the feature/functions of 2.0. Now I see we’re locked into 2.0 with no option for a different format. So be it. As far as the other “improvements”, I must say I agree with Tisha, my darling cowboy, Warren, and the irascible maestro, they are mostly just distracting from our primary purpose here.

The Thanks thing? Oh, Mommy…I feel like I’m in elementary school…and it’s annoying. Encouraging people to say thanks is one thing but thanks should come from the heart, not to prompt or incur rep points. As far as that feature is concerned, it won’t prompt me to behave any differently than I have in the passed. And it’s interesting/strange that there’s a limit on how many thanks you can give/receive. You’re encouraged to give/receive them but only to a point and then it’s _too many_ and you are not permitted to give anymore…lol. As we can see here, it’s already become somewhat of a joke.

I’m trying to play nice, so I went along with the public listing of “Friends”, though I would’ve rather kept it to myself. I know who my friends are and don’t necessarily need/want for others to know who they are. But when someone asks you to be their friend…so I went along and even invited some myself. I hope you understand what I’m saying. I don’t like the aspect that some people might feel left out if they don’t have many friends _formally_ listed. And frankly I would be hard pressed to deny anyone who asked me to be their friend whether I knew them well or not. Maybe I’m too old for this stuff, it just seems silly.

I think the chatroom is here to appease those who’ve been wanting one and it’s one way, in particular, to cater to the younger members here who are used to this kind of thing and find it attractive. Our numbers have more than doubled in the last six months. I’m not enamored of it and don’t see the need, but I suppose it serves a purpose for those who want to quickly ask a question, chat with someone they want to get to know or maybe just play. I feel that the chatroom and clubs take away from the main objective of this forum. I mean we have a lounge already for discussion of anything outside the realm of [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/). Any “social” or non related subjects can be discussed there. I’m all for socializing, we do plenty of it, who’s more social than me? But I don’t see the need for exclusive clubs that are invite only, it smacks of elitism. When Tisha suggested we start some for the ladies I agreed, but I’ve been rethinking it. We already have the exclusive, must have bought in the last six months and be granted the pass word to enter, A314 club/forum. I thought the A314 forum was already a place for guys to let their hair down away from prying eyes and the repercussions of others. How much more exclusive and separate does it really need to be? These are superfluous things that really add nothing to the original intent of this forum. (Edit: One of the things that drew me to this forum in the first place was, for lack of a better term, all that nonsense.)

The dismissal of the rep power points has, frankly, disturbed me enough to speak out about it. If you don’t care about reps/rep power that’s fine, but I do. I’ve been a loyal, devoted and contributing member at PheroTalk and worked long and hard, almost daily for over a year, accumulating them. And I resent having them simply dismissed. Having them taken away justlikethat _sucks_. There I said it for all of us Tish! I like watching them grow…I’ve earned them and am proud of my accomplishment…dammbit! I also like watching the rep points of my friends grow ((( Tisha ))), gives me something to aspire to. That’s OK. I’m nothing if not resourceful so I’ve listed mine in my sig and will update it weekly. 😉

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m always open minded and for embracing improvements and I really don’t want to come across as negative about all these new additions. I hate rocking the boat when most others are happy to just paddle along. You know I don’t usually have trouble opening my mouth, but this time it feels different. Even Tisha was holding back her comments, as I’ve been, and I still wouldn’t be speaking out except for the fact that a close friend encouraged me to do so saying if we don’t tell them how we feel they won’t know. So that’s what I’m doing here right now. I also know there are many others who also feel the same way but will never directly speak out, they never do, so it’s up to the rest of us to carry that burden for them as well. Though I do wish they’d grow some stones and help the rest of us out here.

If the powers that be don’t know, by now, how much I love this forum, them and all of you then they’ll never know. I’ve made myself as clear as I can. I don’t mean to be a downer but the truth is I’m not up for a fight. Steve and Jasmin know where they want this ride to go, I just have to decide if I’m getting on the bus or not. Time will tell. Of course, I’ll try to get with the program. I’m excited to see new worthwhile, useful additions to the forum, though I haven’t seen anything that’s really qualified as that yet. My appetite for education and knowledge knows no bounds. I just don’t want it to start feeling like school or work.

My nickle…\* Bella runs for cover\*.

Oh, and I’d like to thank Jesus. Does he get a point for that?

And did anybody else hear that big THUD!? I think it was coming from the Mad Tater’s Journal…goin’ over there now to check it out…hang on Tate…Bella’s comin’ with first aid…wrapped in bacon!

And another old timer agrees (does a year qualify as an old timer?)

I had a strong feeling and voiced it in Jasmin’s threat on 2.0 that removing the reps and rep power from the user profile and replacing with the “thanks” would have a detrimental effect on research and reporting and would quickly be abused.

It seems that everybody is thanking everybody for every little post, and repping for quality contributions has all but disappeared. I think that the rep system helped to motivate people to test new products and provide detailed reporting, and I think we’ll probably see the quality and quantity of reports diminish.

The reps and rep power were also a pretty good measure of what other members thought of user contributions to the forum in the way of product reporting, and helped the newbies judge how valuable a users post was.

Those of us that have been around for awhile know that when Steve, Dancing Joker, Tater, Tisha, Bella, Kitten, or any of a number of other members post a report, we can take it as gold. But, the new guy or girl on the forum only had reps to judge how much weight could be put into their reports or advice.

The thanks system is fine for using to say thank you to somebody who has made an observation or responded to a question, but honestly I could care less how many times a user has thanked or been thanked by somebody, the rep and rep power was a far more valuable indicator.

Only my 2 cents worth, but maybe something to consider.

**Edit** : I see that we have reps back in the user profile, which is a good start.

But, the new guy or girl on the forum only had reps to judge how much weight could be put into their reports or advice.

I didn’t really have an opinion about the thank you system until I gave it a try. Now that I have, I am of the opinion that it isn’t as useful as the rep system is. I personally have been sticking to the format of repping new insights on putatives/test molecules or good reports/reports on new combos/etc…

I..pretty much don’t use the thanks. I mean I do, but I don’t. Ya dig? The button’s there, and it’s easy to use, but I don’t feel that it is substantial, which is why I continue to use the rep function. I’m not to concerned about having my rep points shown or anything, but I feel that the thank yous are even less useful.

Personally, there is a lot of new threads to wade through to find reports on new putatives or combos. I feel like every week there is a new amazing, ultra combo that revolves around [Ammo](https://a314.com/product/ammo/) + consumer products, A314 + consumer products or TUTH + products…I know there are some folks on here looking for that, but that’s not what I’m looking for.

I suppose some of the larger divisions will come when the consumer and research forums diverge, but I dunno, might as well chime in while I’ve got the chance.
