Im sure most of you have heard of the Mystery Method,I have been watching some of Mystery’s stuff on youtube lately and I have to say its pretty interesting.Question is,do u guys think it works? is it a viable means to attract/approach women? post ur thoughts on this. ---

I think _most_ of his teachings are scene specific. You don’t want to go around negging all the hot girls in your workplace/school/etc, now do you? Other than that, some of the smaller stuff he teaches is ok for anywhere else. I’d have to say that it works. All the chicks in my english class seem to giggle at almost everything I say/comment on, cause I’m COCKY. Actually I don’t think its that. Well, maybe. 😉 ---

It definitly works. Ive been using it and can say it does work. Only thing is that I have only used it in clubs, parties, and bars. Im soon to try it in other settings and more in january. Also I would get the book if I were you and not focus so much on the videos. Also I would check out David DeAngelo’s Double Your Dating or Neil Strauss’s Rules of the Game, and combine that with The Mystery Method. ---

I’ve become a bit more partial to Mystery and his method(s) of late. Though I still subscribe to the (surprisingly unpopular) notion that his monstrous stature, Tommy Lee rocker archetype, and maniacal energy have arguably contributed as much to his ability to persuade as have his favored interpersonal tactics, I still do think that there is something - a lot, in many cases - to what he preaches. I finally read his book and I have to say that it is a pretty darned impressive piece of work. The question I’d ask… and I’m asking… since surely everyone and his grandmother knows what Mystery and his disciples are up to by now… would be “does it work _anymore_?” Or “Does it work nearly as well anymore?” From what I’ve heard, current denizens of the L.A. club scene can smell the Mystery Method - and its converts - from 100 miles away. So is success nowadays a result of the Method itself or the x factor items which existed before the Method? There was one Youtube video that really got me, though, and that was the “shit test” one. I thought what he did there was unbelievable, to say the least. ---

If you look at the top of the forum, third line down you’ll see that MHarris at least thinks Mystery is on to something. There’s been an evolution in favoured styles of late with many thinking a more natural approach is the way to develop. Integrate insights from MM but don’t stay using routines any longer than you have to - just bring out the naturally attractive man within. The mystery method is fine, but in the right settings and with practice all things become perfect. So keep trying, also i think Deangelo , ross jeffries and bandler are better bets then mystery, cos they been around longer. ---

MM is great for beginners who just want to interact with women, and that is the sole purpose for getting involved with Pick Up. My question is, why is that your only purpose? Getting into this ‘scene’ has opened my eyes to the vast opportunities that awaits in ALL areas of my life. The reason why Mystery can do what he does is because he has a passion, and that passion happens to be magic. That is Mystery’s gig, and for some reason guys getting involved in the ‘community’ have re-wired themselves to think that learning magic = obtaining hot women. These are all creative ways to demonstrate value to women, but why center your life, and everything that you are for this sole purpose. If I’m going to learn magic, it’s because I want to do it as a hobby - to amuse myself and others, not to just get laid. The MM Model is fantastic, but don’t take it as textbook. Routines and techniques are perfect for those who need a crutch, but eventually they will get played and only take you so far. And, yes, indirect method is fading, because most guys are starting to realize, ‘hey if I just grow some balls, become adventerous, and have a bit of passion in life, then everything else will fall into place…including women.’ ---

I think Mystery’s stuff is very interesting. His theories are pretty good, but as far as his method, I feel it is just way too structured and in-depth. Talking to women should not be rocket science. Too much thinking as far as which stage you’re in and when and how to phase-shift. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely recommend his material as he has some very good insight as to how the female mind works. If you are a highly skilled PUA with interesting stories and you are congruent enough to pull it off, then the Mystery Method is for you. However, I feel that David DeAngelo’s approach is better for the average guy. No matter which methods you use, you have to have congruence or women will lose interest over time. If you use Mystery’s method, you have to constantly maintain your DHV spikes. With David D’s method, you have to keep up the cocky/funny act and make sure that you don’t revert back to AFC mode or you will find yourself in the friends zone pretty fast. ---

Mystery method sucks in my opinion. He has the right ideas, but his materials are canned, it takes a real pua to have a natrual game, rather then canned lines you use. ---
