Mystery’s got some good concepts. David DeAngelo is a much more naturalistic approach, since he focuses more on attitude and inner game. Besides which, if you listen to both of them, DD just sounds (not to mention _looks_) like a much more together much more sincere guy. He doesn’t need feather boa peacocking and all that crap. With MM being so formulaic, it can really take some of the fun out of social interactions. Also, reading Mystery’s stuff (and Style’s too) has totally corrupted my vocabulary. I don’t want to be self-conscious of the fact that I am “Opening a set,” “DHV-ing,” “Kino-pinging,” “AMOG-ing” or “Negging” (though that one is not so bad). I’d rather just drop all the esoteric PUA jargon crap and have some cocky fun. Sure the vocab is kinda convenient sometimes, but it sort of puts you in a weird frame of mind. Mystery breaks things down and over-analyzes things way too much for my tastes. DD’s material (it’s much more holistic, so I wouldn’t even call it a method) is much more natural, and ultimately more profound. I don’t buy into all of it, of course. The psychological causes he cites sometimes leave me skeptical, but in general the system makes sense and doesn’t make you feel like a PUA robot. Oh yeah. And Mystery Method is specifically designed to pick up random chicks (“full close” is the only real close), which is something not every guy is even interested in. DeAngelo’s approach can be used in many different situations and by people of a variety of moral and religious commitments. You can follow DD’s general approach and not feel like you are living in a scene from _School for Scoundrels_. ---
