I have been playing around with A314 (I only wear one drop), and really like the smell on me. It turns into this yummy, creamy vanilla slightly incense-y smell.

Though, this is just one drop, and it is an oil.

I found out that the scent is called [Akuto](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/akuto/), and am wondering if it still would smell the same if I had a spray, non-oil based product scented with that, or if it would become too strong and “manly”.

The complete scent of A314 is not called [Akuto](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/akuto/). Akuto is just a portion of the scent and diffusion package, which also includes a selection of musks, oudh, etc.

If you like warm and incense-y, then yes, you’ll probably like the Akuto spray.

I did research the [Akuto](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/akuto/) scent in the forum before posting this, and found mixed reviews on the Akuto scent.

Might it be possible to have something scented with the “A314 fragrance”? Also, I have only smelled it in a dose of one drop, so am wondering if more than that (as a spray might give) might make it too much?

I like how the added musks in A314 (which are essential to get enough diffusive lift from the oil format) add to the [Akuto](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/akuto/) scent.

The oil also slows the diffusion of certain components of the Akuto, which may make it smell better (or worse) to some. Fragrance is kind of like music in a way. Diffusion has a tempo and a rhythm which changes how we perceive scent, and ultimatley, how it feels inside.

My guess is, though, that you’ll probably like how Akuto smells in the spray format. I don’t know if the opinions are as divided among women as they are men. It’s the rare woman I’ve run into that doesn’t like it or wouldn’t like if worn by the right man at certain times. Women are flexible when it comes to taste (look at the variety of dress in women vs. men), and they also tend toward the more imaginative and romantic.

For men, it’s a less-flexible identity issue. “Is this scent me? Is this something I’d want the other guys smelling, is this what I’d wear to a baseball game?” For a lot of rough & tumble guys, especially the younger ones who are tough, the answer is “no” when it comes to something like Akuto. They’d no sooner wear a sexy, incensey fragrance they’d dress like Charlie Chaplin. Especially to a baseball game! Or going bowling with the guys. It’s not a congruent part of their identity.

That’s why so many mainstream scents smell almost exactly the same, with the bottles and brand names being the most dramatic differentiating factors. Sure, you get the odd balls like Lolita Lempicka, but those the type of scents women pick up for their guys. Or the guys become so mesmerized by the name “Lolita” and the associations it brings due to the classic movie (and it’s remake), they just can’t help overlooking the fact that it really is kind of a unique (perhaps excessively unique) fragrance.

Congruence is big to men. What they wear (both clothes & fragrance), what they do (their public behaviours, anyway), is less malleable than it is for women. Except for a brief period when they’re young and in rock bands, they’re about the diametric opposite of Cyndi Lauper or her lasting simulcrum, Betsey Johnson. Many men only 1 have or 2 major aesthetics. As men age, though, they tend to add more distinct segments. Their work self, their game self, their child rearing self, their sexy, seductive self when they want to be romantic, etc.-- all of which can come with their own distinct styles of dress and scent.

I enjoy A314, wearing some for a meeting in a few minutes. I get about 12 hours of scent whether the phero’s wear off or not.

Thanks for that info, I totally agree that women do have more varied tastes than men.

So maybe I will try ordering something in a to-go with that fragrance, next time I place an order. Though I’m also thinking i should order something that I won’t necessarily need a lot of sprays of, or order in a higher dosage so I don’t need to use much (I prefer my scent to be slightly subtle, and not “reek” of whatever it is I’m wearing)

Kind of like how the Game [Raw Power](https://a314.com/product/raw-power/) pack smelled a tad bit different from the regular Game scent because of the musks in the test pack. It added a very interesting touch to it, and smells very good.
