So I get back from the airport and am unpacking my bag. I get one of those “your bag was searched tags” as soon as I open it. They took my entire stash. Are they supposed to leave some sort of reason for taking it? Did they just take it because they wanted it? I called the airport and they said if anything was missing from the bag it was deemed dangerous or illegal. It obviously wasnt illegal since I am not in cuffs. I am furious. They got - My catlord mixes, The rest of my A314 , the rest of my mx 292 ,my instant shine, my cttm2, and my tuth. WTF! Thats like 200 bucks worth of shit. I am sure it is trashed/destroyed by now. Does anyone know if there is a chance that its not and I can get it returned to me or have them give me a refund? Could it be one of the checkers just liked the smell and took it? ---

I have no answers, BUT! If you never heard of -mones, and you worked security and ran across a bunch of little bottles with numbers and weird names on’em … wouldn’t you take them? Whenever I travel, I remove all labels and add two bottles of regular cologne with my stash. I call it, “SLIMMING MY CHANCES OF THEM TAKING MY STUFF!” Sorry about your stash, IP. ---

I would most definitely inquire as to the whereabouts of your items and then file a complaint/grievance of some sort ---

There is no way you will be getting it back..it sucks really bad..in this day and age not much you can do, i personally hate flying just because of all this security and privacy stuff and all the rules and regulations, though i understand it, sometimes i think it is way overboard in the future i highly recommend you take small to go bottles instead and do not leave the labels on and definitely leave most of your stuff home When i travel i travel very light and most times only take what i can carry onboard ---

I’m really sorry this happened. I once had an MX confiscated by a teacher when I pulled a pen out of my pocket and if fell out, and they thought it was some sort of drug, I guess. I was extremely annoyed and that was just one MX to-go. I wonder what a security guard would think if he opened up the luggage and just found one bottle labeled “Ammunition.” ---

they are the biggest scumbags. now, they even make you remove the dr. scholl’s inserts from your shoes or sneakers, and they take it away, unless you have a doctor’s note. i’m sorry that they took all your stuff. they are acting like a bunch of nazi pigs and it’s out of control. i would be fuming right now too. i really can’t believe they searched your bag. did they take away your shampoo too? ---

I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to be taking that on an airplane anyway because of the high-flammable alcohol content. Even though I -have- to use IPA for my job, I couldn’t take any with me. Even though I did. IIRC they do let you take some (I.e. aftershave). Your problem was probabily due to the multiple bottles. I would say someone taking 5 bottles of different aftershave wouldn’t be normal and thus would have disposed of your bottles, not to mention small blue bottoles with weird names on them like they are some form of street name for drugs… It wont be there any more. They instantly bin liquids. ---

No they left the shampoo and stuff. I had all the pheros in a seperate ziplock bag. ---

OUCH…this is a fear I’ve had, since I’m starting back travelling, and it looks like it can happen. UPS/FEDex/DHL are looking reeeaaaaally good for sending my stuff overnight so I can have it delivered to my hotel.. ---

ooo, what a bum deal. I am so sorry for your loss. Heh, that sounds like condolences for the loss of a loved one. Whenever I travel I take only to-gos and only what I can carry in my purse or tuck in to my backpack. I don’t trust anything once it becomes checked luggage. I guess you’ll know for next time. Still, it sucks. ---
