What are the putative and experimone series that I see on [androticsdirect.com](http://androticsdirect.com)?
Things like: TAA, TAC, TAF, TAH, TAK, TAL, [P74](https://a314.com/product/p74/), P79, and that whole mx series. What is this stuff? There’s no description for it so I don’t know what exactly it does. Trying to figure it out.

If you plug any of those terms into the search function, you will get a ton of posts discussing each one.

The putatives are molecules that Androtics believe are [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/). They don’t know for sure, so they ask us to test them.

The MX series are experimental mixes that may or may not make it into the standard lineup.

Often, you won’t see any description except what results users get from them and their reports on the forum. They don’t want to influence your judgement.

I wonder if all putatives are of human origin, ie, not [human pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/).

There are many chemicals that have neurosensory/psychoactive effects on the limbic system of the human brain when smelled, pheromones are just one. In fact, there are too many to name, linalool, indoles, incensole acetate and sesquiterpenes of many kinds, and so on.

Yeah I have wondered the same thing myself… I may be way off here but I suspect that at least a few of them are indeed chemicals with “neurosensory/psychoactive effects” as you put it. Perhaps someone in the know (Tisha, SteveO, Jasmin) might be willing to shed some light on that.

I’d be curious to know more. There are some very wierd smells out there the brain might not initially grab hold of… like the sythetic agarwood I recently got a few days ago. Initially it smelled like nothing almost, maybe just faintly of porcini mushrooms or carrots. But after you wear it a while you get the smell sensation of something very light and airy, and yet at the same time very heavy and pervasive, and it seems to have a quite mild TAK like effect but without the wierded out/incompetent feeling. BTW, I doubt the particular fragrance chemical manufacturer intended this synthetic to be worn as anything but a trace basenote, as it’s very resinous. It’s probably used to replace agarwood in less-high-end mainstream scents, which typically use it in trace amounts.

I’m not saying TAK=agarwood, but it does pose some questions on just what some of the putatives and experimones are.

Yes they are all of human origin.

No not all of them can be classified as Pheromones, some act or create responses like mones do though.
