I have tried TUTH a number of times and every time I get girls I know very well telling me that I should change my cologne because it smells awful. One described it as smelling like urine. Has anyone received such feedback and if so what can be done to cover TUTH up or should I not use it at all? Also what is in TUTH that is causing that smell?

The pissy smell is the Androstenone and its breakdown products in TUTH and this is a difficult one because if someone is particularly sensitive to that phero, they will soon smell it through any cover scent, no matter how strong.

So, for starters:

How many sprays are you using?

Where are your application points?

How long after application till they start noticing the smell?

Are you using any cover scent, or just its 6% [Neroli](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/androtics-neroli/)

What sorts of environments are you using it in - are they hot or particularly hot/sweaty?

How often are you showering/washing/bathing and do you do so before applying?

Marcone, I’m having exactly the same problem with my wife and TUTH. I’ve just resorted to not wearing it, because it’s the opposite of helpful to me.
I can imagine if I were “on the prowl” as they say, there would be a multitude of women who were not particularly sensitive to the scent, and this would not be an issue.
But as I am exclusive to my wife, this isn’t a helpful product at the moment.

I’ve read about -none buildup, as in wearing TUTH multiple days in a row can cause buildup and then cause OD. Maybe that’s happening to you?

I shower every morning before heading out to work and every night before before bed (twice if I am going out that evening)

First thanks for the response

I use two sprays - one on my risk and rub together and the other on my chest.

After application I notice the smell immediately but my friends also immediately after we have met which is about 1/2hour to 1hour.

The first time I did not use any cologne but the second time I used my normal cologne Paco Rabanne Invictus. However, after the cologne smell is gone the pissy smell is back. I can smell it myself.

I use it in my home which is sort of cool and out at coffee house etc.

I shower every morning before heading out to work. I do not apply TUTH then. I also shower before bed. When I am going out for the evening I will shower and then apply TUTH and shower before going to bed that night.

Is there a cover scent that can be used to masked it or should I not bother using the TUTH anymore.

Thanks Psintegrate I might just decide not to wear it anymore. Before I do that though I might try it out in an environment where nobody knows me. Just to see what reaction I get.

Then a more robust cover scent is the next choice. You are washing often enough to ensure that smell from skin bacteria or lingering breakdown residue is not any more than normal. Have you tried something like Witch Hazel shower gel or Tea Tree soap to ensure you are shifting everything?

By chest - do you mean under clothing? This could mean the TUTH is collecting in the fibers and that can stink and be rather difficult to remove.

Do you have a very hairy chest? Again, Androstenone can bind to hair and cause buildup/smelly problems. Mocing to more open/bare skin app points might be useful and they are easier to clean/reapply if it does turn to stink.

At 44, you can usually stand a pretty overt dose/application, unless you are around much younger women.

A different phero may help - [P75](https://pheromonelabs.com/product/p75/) is an excellent alternative to Androstenone in many mixes and avoids a lot of the problems but it usually needs some social moderation as well.
