So this has been bugging me recently…

I know diffusion is important with pheromones in order to transport said pheromones towards others, I’m also aware that the scents such as neroli are designed to aid in this diffusion…

So first of all, how does it aid in diffusion? Do the pheromones stick to the cologne and thus diffuse along side it? If so, does it actually help the pheromones, or does the fact that it’s now semi-bonded with the cologne kill the pheromones or even dull it’s properties?

Can your cologne weigh down pheromones and essentially create a blanket layer trapping pheromones on your skin?

In terms of diffusion, or pheromone promoting diffusion is there any way we can look at out our own colognes and see that it is an effective addition?

The reason I ask is because I use Joop. It’s a fantastic spray that quite frankly, smells great and girls love it too to the point that, I’ve been sniffed and complimented a lot 🙂. However, when I mixed a togo bottle and added in Joop, last time I noticed (since it has a strong red/pink colour to it) that it just sat on top of the togo pheromone mix… I left it and it honestly did not appear to want to mix in untill i gave it a shake…

To me this would imply it will not mix with pheromones, which is strange, since 1. their both alcohol based products and 2. the pheromone content should be too low to create a type of suface resistance like that, if thats the correct term?

Maybe I should have left it longer who knows, im sure it would have mixed given time, but i certainly expected to see it visibly mix… you know, like when you drop a bit of dye in water you see it slowly mixing through /radiating. Though I can put a tea bag in a cup of hot water and all the ‘tea extract’ will sit on the bottom as its own little black puddle so maybe it was a rare accurance similar to that…

Advise much appreciated 😉

Also, does any one know if [unscented pheromones](https://a314.com/product-category/stealth-unfragranced/) still diffuse well on their own? I know with Anol i can clearly smell it, so it’s obviously diffusing, so is neroli /xyz scent really need for anything other than to mask the smell?

Kind regards,
Luke :3

I not sure, but I think essential oil scents would slow done the evaporation (diffusion) rate… if it were just based in alcohol it you evaporate very quickly and shorten it’s life span. I am sure others will chime in on this question.

Unscented products don’t diffuse as easily because the pheromone molecules are heavy, so alone they don’t diffuse as much, hence the reason why neroli is used to help the pheromones fly off the skin by the extra help of the fixatives in the neroli and its musks. That’s why Androtics warns inexperienced users about buying unscented products as it may or may not hinder results. However, a simple spray of your cologne over the unscented product will help to diffuse the pheromones but it should be a cologne with good silage to make sure that the pheromones will fly off the skin properly. Actually, it could even be done with after shave, just as long as it is sprayed directly over the [unscented pheromone](https://a314.com/product-category/stealth-unfragranced/) application.

Why don’t you just spray Joop over your neroli scented pheromone product instead of mixing it in together in one bottle? By doing this you are probably diluting the pheromone content with the extra PA in Joop. Mixing isn’t as easy as it seems, you just can’t mix in cologne for scent and still think you’ll be getting the same pheromone strength/content. So just spray your cologne over the previously sprayed neroli scented spray.

Direct homebrew mixing with colognes is only effective with concentrated mones, e.g., chemset mones from Stone Labs or 100mcg or so Experimones. Why? To preserve the integrity of a cologne you need about 5 parts cologne to 1 part mones. THus to maintain a reasonable mone dose at 5:1 you need highly concentrated mones.

The problem with typical AD products is they are dosed and designed for direct application. That is, they are already highly diluted for straight out of the bottle application. Mixing dosed product makes both the mone and cologne too weak.

With all that said, I use homebrew mixes at 5:1 nearly daily. I have them premixed in Sephora atomizers with my fav colognes: Weekend, Issey Miyake Summer and Bugari Aqua. Diffusion is excellent and being able to spray on the run in cars, parking lots and bathrooms is the ultimate in flexibility.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yes I do know about concentrations and ratios, I’m fully aware that 1ml of 50mcg in a 5ml togo = 10mcg.. Infact, to scent one of my unscented bottles, a very very small ammount of Joop is needed (it’s pretty strong stuff).

The thing is, Joop smells lush and it doesn’t make me feel ill. I could of course layer it on top as I do with the instant honesty and other products, but it’s not a perfect solution for me. I do have neroli products, game in ammo and what ever goes in tuth… Not something i perticularily like to be honest which is why i’d prefer to use my own if possible with unscented products though i might just try grapefruit or something… Also, neroli whilst being said to had been designed to help diffusion, I thought emphasis was on to that it “could” aid in diffusion. I’m sure it does with most as im sure androtics has tested this, more so refering to putatives etc.. as it would be hard for a single product to be great diffusion aid to all molecules…? :s

Is unscented diffusion really that bad? Spaceland only has a herbal essential oil added IIRC?

So far I’ve had no problems, but obviously if there was a way to ‘test’ a cologne for effectivness then that would be good. It’s a shame androtic does not sell a diffusion additive that is unscented… neroli is supposed to be an orange flower scent, to me it just has that strong alcohol smell that’ll make me feel ill… 😕

Also, not to sound dumb but what do you mean by silage?

with my unscented, i can fill a 5ml togo bottle up and add a little squirt and it smell like joop 🙂 infact it’s kinda nicer to have a diluted joop it can be pretty strong tbh in that I actually feel scared getting on a bus and have people thinking i drowned myself with it LOL
