Just curious. How many of you actually ‘celebrate’ valentine’s day? Is it a romantic event that bears importance? Or a commercial fricking trap that might put your relationship in trouble if you forgot about it, so you end up jumping aboard the train? Or is it a joke you live very well without? I’m the third type. That day never meant anything to me. I value my relationship enough to make many specials days per year and I prefer doing that on an evening where people aren’t oozing in from the walls to get into restaurants. Too many people. Too many are there for fake reasons or because they feel they have to. Everything becomes overpriced. I’m the valentine’s grinch 😃. But my girlfriend is ok with that. Lol. Please feel free to share thoughts on this off-topic subject gentlemen, and ladies too would be nice. ---

I’m also the third type… my husband too (thanks God!) I even avoid checking my Facebook on valentines day. .. everybody seems to get crazy about it… it’s almost disgusting. .. 😃 . I cannot understand how even the very smart people I know fall on this commercial trap… ---

Same here. My ex went for it big time but I have never been that bothered. Still if it keeps the peace/her happy and horny! ---

My wife and i dont really celebrate it. To us she usually cooks me a special dinner, and later on I give her a long rub down with love making later on and then we tell each other why we love each other so much and this is perfect ---

I celebrated mine by going to a singles’ party, hosted by a professional organizer. Met lots of women that I normally wouldn’t come across. That is, from parts of my city that I never travel to, some of which have a reputation as dangerous. Everybody was very friendly, and even ended up teaching one woman to swing dance (while “Mambo #5” was playing), which she liked. Drinks were flowing, and so were the good vibes. At the end, I caught the last train home, where I saw one couple arguing, which made me chuckle. ---

Late on this, but it’s a silly holiday. I don’t actively participate in this, but I do love excuses to get massages, dinner, or jewelry- better if given without an excuse. There was this girl in elementary school whose dad would always bring her flowers to school on her birthday and I never understood what the big deal was, why couldn’t he give them to her at home? Why did he have to do it at school? Well, it turned out that this dad gave me a complex about wanting to get flowers because it shows everyone how much you are loved. It is not about the act of getting flowers as much as it is a public declaration of being admired. I got flowers delivered to my workplace for the first time in my life and people are still talking about it. Husbands got angry texts from their jealous wives. Everyone wanted to know who sent them and why. I didn’t just get attention from the boy who sent them, I got attention from my entire department. So no, please don’t make me sit in a shitty restaurant for hours for a shitty meal surrounded by fake unhappy couples who are not having enough sex. Please don’t spend twice as much money on flowers for one day. But please take these stupid romantic ideas and apply them year round because I love feeling special, admired, and spoiled. ---
