Vanilla Essential Oil Extract

Vanilla EO, aside from being expensve, is also rather strong. You canget away with a 3% solution or alternatively, you could try a Bpal with Vanilla in it, as they only use pure EO´s. Or just dab a bit of vanilla essence behind the ears.

Found an Italian natural perfumery with an “alphabet of scents” It sez:

Vanilla generates a sense of well-being and a feeling of relaxation. Its message of good temper and joy is antidepressant. Its aroma is euphoric and comforting, it attenuates bad temper and irritability, it loosens the tensions, diminishes insatisfaction and frustration, giving a sense of physical satisfaction related to the oral phase of the first infancy.
For this reason the scent of Vanilla helps also to dominate nervous hunger, often caused by an affective emptiness, making us revive the primordial emotion of the totally satisfied baby after feeding. In fact, the aroma of Vanilla produces a beneficial regression, awaking in us the inner child.
The aphrodisiac property of this fragrance is due to the privileged association it has in our olfactory memory with the sensuous emotions that give the delights of palate; cookies, sweets and creams of which the sweet aroma of Vanilla it the very soul. Its perfume brings us back to the pure physical phase in which the baby discovers the world exclusively through the perceptions of his body. For these reasons Vanilla’s perfume is reassuring and pulls down inhibitions.
The sexiness of the Vanilla has also a chemical explanation; the molecules of the natural essence are very similar to human pheromones and have the property to combine chemically with them, fixing them and exalting our personal odour, beautifying it exactly as a fine dress beautifies the body.

Aromatherapy, perfume, aromatherapy, essential oil, natural perfumes, aromatherapie

one molecule difference is chemically like Monty Pyton’s ‘exactly the same only different’. But if that one molecule is on the end of a chain and valence is just right it is possible to bind the vanilla on one side and the pheromone on the other side. Possible but not likely. More likely their chemical similarity makes them aromatically complimentary. Comfortable fellow travelers.

This alphabet of scents tries to explain ‘what it is’ about dozens of natural scents we all love. Patchouli, cinnamon, even our local blending favorite, neroli. Couldn’t find coffee, punkin pie, or chocolate chip cookies.

I’ve used vanilla oil every time when I go dancing or to a club, and when i start to sweat, the oil heats up on the skin and evaporates. The whole club fills up with my smell of vanilla and every woman is attracted to it.. I’ve had girls come up to me and open me with “you smell sooo good.”

So yeah Godhand, it works just like Supreme said it would.

hmm time to retry my Vanilla body wash, I think.

There’s lots of suppossed aphrodisiacs that probably are not. Vanilla and tonquin/coumarin are very common ingredients in many colognes. Jasmine and Ylang ylang also contain plant musks which increase beta-wave activity in the frontal lobes of the brain, slightly increasing alertness.

Sandalwood = lust? Yes, this is always a curious assosciation in western aromatherapy, my guess is because sandalwood is considered perhaps an exotic smell. In many Asian traditions, sandalwood represents serenity, the opposite of lust- in the fresh, raw form though the oil can have a mildly urinous/cedar note, but this smooths out with age (also, most sandalwood now days is not real sandalwood, it’s synthetic and usually lacks this urinous odor at all). Also, sandalwood contains terpenes which in large amounts usually have sedative or anti-anxiety affects, at least in animal models. Vetiver, agarwood, and cedar are other examples of oils with alot of terpenes.

I have a 4 year oil Vanilla absolute from Madagascar which is amazing! It has aged very well.

I love vanilla EO. I wear it with cocoa butter

pure vanilla is hands down the sexiest scent on a woman.

However, I think I’m going to invest in the “vanilla oil diffusion in dance club” idea. That is absolutely brilliant.

Where are people getting their high-end Vanilla extract oil? I’ve found some lower end stuff, but if i’m going to get something, i tend to go towards the nicer end or save until i can get it. Thus, i shop Androtics. :open_mouth: So yeah, let me in on your secrets!

Now what’s the difference between an absolute and an essential oil extract? Is one a higher grade than the other? And what would be the application techniques for each? Would that ‘dab a drop in the club’ idea work for each, or are absolutes too powerful to not be mixed?

I never tried a vanilla extract but I do own Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and that is pure heaven for both myself and women because i agree vanilla has an uplifting characteristic to it that puts me in a great mood

But it will cost you $180 a bottle for 50ml

I have gotten so many compliments when wearing this it is not funny

Yeah, i have a sample of TF Tobacco Vanille and one that’s said to maybe even be a bit better than it… Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille. I’m thinking of going in for a decant of TF Tobacco Vanille (it’s killing me to not get the bottle, but its $70 less…), but i wanted to compare the quality between the two first, to see if it makes a difference to me. I’ll let ya know when they arrive!

Go in for that split if you can…it is worth it!!!

I have sampled SDV but it just did not work on my skin for whatever reason…because I was missing what everyone on basenotes was talking about. I mean compared to Tom Ford TV it just could not hold a dime on my skin anyway.

From what I understand SDV is pure vanilla so that could be why, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille is a a mixture of tobaco and vanilla that balance eachother out so it not too sweet but it perfect IMO

I have one girl who I see on the train who is married who just will not stop sniffing me whenever I wear Tom Ford TV…she talks about it all the time and it drives her wild..LOL, I am not exaggerating..too bad she was not married

Well now I HAVE to try some

Found this, if anyone else is as tempted as me to try the Tom Ford stuff.

Tom Ford Private Blend Tobacco Vanille - Decanted Fragrances and Perfume Samples - The Perfumed Court

Outstanding!

The good stuff at affordable prices. Definately a bookmark.

I’ve given up cigarettes but I still smoke a pipe and A314 cigars (coming soon to a thread near you) so I’m always looking for something with a tobacco, tea, spice, pine, dark wood note.

Got the Tobacco Vanille and Cumming, The Fragrance. (great name, huh?) Cumming sez it’s bergamot, pepper, pine, whiskey, leather, mud, peat fire, and believe or not white truffle. Just had to try this. There are so few fungus scents. Let’s see if I can find the truffle in here.

I really like the way this place is organized according to scent notes. And they have sampler sets organized by the note.

Way cool. I’ll be back.

OoohYahhh

PS. I got out for less than $20 including shipping!
