Aye there, everyone! I’m a 20-year-old male, living in Florida at the moment. I’ve never used [synthetic pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/shop/) before, but the thought being able to influence social situations really entices me. I haven’t been very outgoing lately, due to recently getting an overnight job among other things, and i feel like I need a little… chemical advantage, of sorts. I have 2 questions: 1. What specific product would you recommend for a completely new user? I was thinking of either Instant Shine or Turn Up The Heat. 2. I wear a dab of patchouli oil as my usual scent; would this have a detrimental effect on the pheromones? Thank you all for your time; I greatly look forward to experimenting. ---

Welcome. 🙂 If you are wanting something to use around work and normal socialising, IS (happy/feelgood) and/or something more broad-based attractive/social/masculine like Ammo would be a better choice as its impression will be less like you have your cock-out all the time. TUTH is better kept for clubs and very uninhibited situations, or for use around someone already very sexually comfortable with you. IS or IO are also good to use alongside around younger women to make it a bit less raw. Yes, using a cover scent is fine. Just if its in an oil, don’t apply it over the pheros as it will slow diffusion. Nearby is just fine. Ammo comes in its own cologne scent - Standard, FF21 won’t need anything else but [World Edition](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/world-edition/) will complement Pachouli nicely. TUTH and all the Instants are in a light orange blossom scent that is easily covered by many scents. ---

Hey Toxie, welcome to the forum… 1. Specifically, it’s hard to say… there are a number of very good first time suggestions, however, we need to know where/how you intend on using them. Instant Shine is a great happy, healthy, feel good mone. TUTH is a very overtly sexual mone, and at your age, would best be saved for very crowded clubs where the sexual tension is already high, or literally while you’re on your way to the bedroom… anywhere else can be a bit too aggressive. 2. The scents will be alright together. The default scent (nerolli) is a light sweet smell, and mixes easily with a lot of other scents. The oil itself, however, would best be applied to areas Other than where you apply the mones. The oil in the patchouli could hinder or change the diffusion properties of the pheromone sprays (alcohol). I’d look into Summer Edition Ammunition. Sexy and social, and works very well as a solo product as it already has some [social pheromones](https://a314.com/product-category/social-pheromones/) mixed in (Instant Shine included). It’s one of my personal favorites, and a great Go-To in a pinch. ---

I don’t really get out to the clubs much, maybe some TUTH would motivate me to do so. I’ll probably purchase some as soon as I get the gift certificate, whenever that’ll be. If it works out, I’ll definitely be getting some more subtle [social pheromones](https://a314.com/product-category/social-pheromones/) for daily wear. I’m so excited! 😃 ---

Give the gift cert a week. Mickaelia is very good about getting to them at least on a weekly basis, and she just did a round a few days ago. It is exciting!! My opinion is start with AMMO, unless you’re certain you’ll find yourself in some sexual situations. AMMO can be used in a variety of situations and is very well-rounded.
