Threads on this forum seems to suggest that the scent you give out should match the way you dress or carry yourself, otherwise people will think you are incongurent. Does this mean if I put on Turn On The Heat but don’t act sex mad, I will be thought as incongruent?

I have my own personality and don’t want to change into something I’m not. Prior to getting myself into pheromones, I have been described as “sharp”, “handsome” when I’m wearing a suit, and “cute” when I’m out at a party or drinking with friends. Personality wise I have often been described using the words “smart”, “cute”, “immature”. When drunk I am “fun”, “crazy”, “energetic”, “funny” and sometimes “dominant” (that’s what people tell me but I don’t remember). Would it be reasonable to say that putting on A314 would be great when I’m wearing a suit, but make me appear incongruent with myself when I’m out in casual? Wearing Instant Shien wouldn’t make too much sense at work either.

Based on what I’ve just stated, to avoid incongruence, the three stages of my pheromone should be:

**Formal outings**
Alpha A314

**Casual outings**
[Instant Openness](https://a314.com/product/instant-openness/) & Instant Honesty

**When drunk**
OD

You need to study a bit more. Walk into Gold’s gym during a business evening. What do you smell? Manly scents, yes? That’s a hoe lotta androstenone in the air. Turn Up The Heat is mainly androstenone and thus helps impart a he-man vibe. That does not only mean sex. It also communicates good health, leadership, badass macho dude and like that. You don’t have to have your dick in your hand to be congruent with essence of locker room. Acting confident and surefooted is not only congruent with workout armpit, but is amazingly attractive to women. Of course looking the part–nice threads and kickin’ body–also helps reinforce the persona. What you don’t want to do is act like a girly-man or weenie. Now that’s incongruent behavior.

For the most part, I think of [pheromones](https://a314.com/) as accessories to enhance or amp me up. I look at my strengths and weakness and try to find dosages and combos that complement my strengths and cover my weaknesses. Normally social laws still apply. You can’t be someone you’re not. Pheromones will not transform you. However pheromones, used skillfully, can help you appear at your very best. Learning to present the best persona for your goal is more important than all the pheromones in the world. The only real way to know what best enhances that persona for you is to experiment until you nail it. Took me a couple months to get a basic grip on what to use and when. And I’ve been constantly refining ever since.

No offense to your ideas, but I think this is more of a myth. I would say my personality hardly dictates it, but high levels of -none work well on me. I would say that pheromones affect your personality. I would also say that there isnt a part in human brains which thinks (“Hmm, his pheromones suggest he should be aggressive and dangeorus but hes such a gentle man”), I would say the way humans detect pheromones are more subconscous and less thought out.

No. But if you put on a lot, stride into a rough biker bar and start hitting on the women you may be perceived as incongruent, among other problems.

I went into a similar environment yesterday for a test, wearing a fair sized dose of Instant Jerk, which also contains the problematic -none as well as copulins. I was respectful and courteous around the rough guys and their women, and was in turn treated very well.

Pheromones will change how you appear, just as various clothes do. I’m understanding you to mean that you would rather complement your personality than go the other direction for “balance.” Both types of usage have value.

You picked some good products for your goals. You may find [Instant Gentleman](https://a314.com/product/gentleman/) interesting also. It will tone down the “immature” though, if you can tolerate that.

Neither seems reasonable. My guess is that you will be pleased with both A314 and instant shine in all the situations you mentioned. However, A314 will probably have more of an effect you might perceive as “changing” how you appear, in that you are likely to appear more mature than without it.

Here are some thoughts and responses to your ideas.

**Formal outings**
Alpha A314 _- good_
_shine_
_IG_

**Casual outings**
Instant Openness & Instant Honesty\*- good\*
_shine_

**When drunk**

OD _- bad idea if this means an OD on -none. Reducing your inhibitions and judgement while at the same time irritating some people. It could be a recipe for trouble. None will probably cut into your “cute” effect also._
_Shine_
_Instant Openness_

Be careful with Shine + alcohol. Shine makes one a little oblivious to social cues and this can have negative consequences when combined with too much alcohol.

Also betanol+shine+alcohol+email/sms= potentially disastrous combination…

I can’t say my experience has been remotely similar. Perhaps you applied too much alcohol. IS and nols don’t impact my behavior much–probably built a tolerance–but seems to impart a perceived subtle boost to my persona when in the accompany of others. Encourages verbose behavior from other folks. Plenty of booze, on the other hand, can lead to all sorts of complications, dullness, social insensitivity and repeated foot-in-mouth, regardless of what pheromones worn. Spraying or dabbing alcohol is far less likely to cause an OD than ingesting it.

he he he … get drunk, spray on shine so you feel invulnerable and then [Instant Honesty](https://a314.com/product/instant-honesty/) so you’ll say anything, and then get it all out of your system with e-mail. Sounds like a good way to start a war!

Shine and Beta Androstenol self effects on the wearer tend to vary quite a bit. Also, many people become accostomed to the self effects over time and the intensity decreases dramatically. Self effects + alcohol could lead to problems for some users prone to the self effect. I don’t get much in the way of self-effects anymore either, so this type of problem didn’t initially pop into my head.

In contrast, the none effect I was concerned about works on other people, so there is no advantage for an experienced user.

Gegogi - it’s interesting but having been reading your posts for a few years now, it seems like you aren’t very influenced by the pheromones you wear (whether that be straight none, NPA/TE, Shine, nol). That seems to be a minority experience, and I would love to hear your thoughts on what might be behind that. Do you think your stage/musical training has had a strong impact?

On the other hand, I think it might be unwise to extrapolate your ability to bathe in none (or other products) without adverse reactions by others (or self-reactions) and say that such reactions shouldn’t be an issue for anybody else.

The Shine obliviousness is something that Michael has discussed previously, by the way. Often this is a helpful effect, but one should be aware of it.

I’ve always been good at controlling and/or ignoring my emotions and outward expressions. Also accomplished at creating expression on demand–whether I “feel” it or not. Good for poker and life in general. Keeps you in control of yourself and those around you. Nevertheless I did feel a phero buzz back in the day. None made me feel up and zippy–like too much coffee. Androstenol made me talkative. However it’s been years since I felt a buzz or any other obvious effects. I don’t doubt something subtle may be brewing below the surface, but nothing obvious seems to faze me anymore. I apply pheromones and completely forget about them as I go through my day. I doubt this has anything to do with being an artist or performer. Like Mr. Gone, I’ve built up a tolerance due to persistent daily use. I consider this a good thing as I really don’t want to be influenced by my pheromones. I want to influence those around me and keep sober.

Do you think that this (masking) is, in part, a cultural thing? not wanting to go with the stereotype of the inscrutable se asian without further examination, i took a casual look on google and was surprised to see there didn’t seem to be all that much on the topic. i found the following, but it’s not in itself all that conclusive…

btw i have been using mones for 5 years or so now, and have built up only a limited tolerance… sounds like some other _very_ long-term users (eg tacitus) also notice some self-influence despite a degree of habituation.

The “tolerance” may be a matter of physical and/or psychological adaption as much as a personality or cultural influence. Most people adapt to one degree or another. For instance, a person may display a DIHL response on first exposure, but probably will not on a second exposure.

I had strange and vivid dreams on first exposure to some pheromones, but those faded with time and multiple exposures. I interpreted that as my subconscious figuring out what was going on.

In the case of an unusually strong limbic response (to converse, mate, whatever) it may take a while for the inhibitory mechanisms to adjust to the new stimulus. They probably do though, to a greater or lesser extent in various people.

It may also depend on the frequency of the stimulus and what it is associated with. If it is sprayed on every day it may come to be discounted as part of the background “noise.”

Perhaps. Men in certain Asian families are taught not to display or be moved by emotion. We’re the same inside but learn early on to ignore it or hold it inside for later (avenge unto the 7th generation!–just kidding). Also I get to blow it all out daily in my music and workouts. Nevertheless, I’ve developed tolerance–near immunity–to many things that used to excite me: pheromones, booze, mary jane, food, driving fast, walking on stage, material possessions, beautiful women, even sex. I need a pretty massive dose, impressive ride or incredible quality to perk my interest. I feel this is actually a good thing as it gives me precise control and confidence. Also, women are more interested in me than 20 years ago when I was desperately horny. I guess the “I don’t care if you’re a hot babe” thing is attractive somehow. They actually try hard to entice me whereas they fled from me before.

I would like to point out Mr. Gone mentioned above he isn’t influenced one way or another with the pheromones he wears: “I don’t get much in the way of self-effects anymore either.” I think Sigma has written a few times about developing tolerance to his regular mixes as well.

When I am wearing the Androstadienone and suddenly become depressed and ‘slow/mellow’, I realise that my negative thoughts are caused by this pheromone and things will get better when I wash it off. However I need to keep the Androstadienone on to keep this woman from getting aggressive at me or to keep on her good side as there has been a lot of tension between us and she is my bossy flatmate! > I’ve seen this happen to others, too. “I feel great, but I don’t know if it’s doing anything the people around me”.
>
> It seems that the more people self-respond to Molecule A or Instant Shine, the less they seem to notice from others. But those who aren’t very self-responsive from A seem to notice the effects on others much more.
>
> **The feeling of “outcome independence” Molecule A gives some responders seems to carry with it the unfortunate negative that it can make you oblivious to what’s going on around you socially. (part of the reason it increases social confidence in some people)**
>
> **As it make you feel so good, you focus goes more inward and dissociate from both positive and negative external feedback.**
>
> **So it’s a double edge sword. You might feel great, and be more expressive because you’re less worried about (and indeed, less tuned into) social responses, but not be able to personally recognize the positive effect this is having on others.**
>
> A “damn, I feel great… may the peanut gallery be damned!” type of effect.
>
> I describe this in the Shine description by simply saying that it can give some users an “aloof” type of confidence. Aloof confidence itself can be attractive, being aloof carries positives as well as negatives.
>
> I think it’s ultimately a plus sum game, though. You’re feeling good at the same time you’re perhaps a little socially oblivious. Most self-responders seem to act out in a very positive manner while under the influence of Molecule A.

Does it matter in what order pheromones go on top of each other? For example if I put [Instant Female Magic](https://a314.com/product/instant-female-magic/) over Instant Honesty, does that mean as Instant Female Magic fades, Instant Honesty will come on stronger? Or if I put an oil product (such as A314) over a spray product (such as Ammo), will the A314 seal in the Ammo or at least make Ammo release slower?
