If getting cute girls doesnt work out for you, you can always lower your standards. If that doesnt work, you could always change your preference in gender. If that still doesnt work, you could lower your standards AND change your preference. I know a guy who would love to meet you.

> Girls dont have to rely on anything other than existing. Even the fattest ugliest girls out there still have 50 options.

That’s not really accurate, Advanced. There are plenty of women out there who are desperate for a good man or even a mediocre man! You either miss their cues or you are just not interested in those women. It gets much more difficult for a woman as she gets older; for a man it gets easier.

You need to determine whether A314, Ammo or [Instant Gentleman](https://a314.com/product/gentleman/) is best for you. One of those three _ **will** _ have an amazing impact on your attitude and the reactions you get from women. I like A314 which gives a dramatic boost to a man’s confidence. Often men in their twenties prefer Ammo or sometimes Instant Gentleman. These pheromones are cheaper than an escort, which you assure us you could afford.

Unique, you set the argument back to square one for all of us. Now Advanced is going to say that he won.

Jokes aside, I have to disagree with you that PUA doesn’t help. It can do wonders, but you really gotta have critical thinking skills (in layman’s terms, BS detector) in order to benefit the most from it; I can’t stress that enough. During the years 2002 thru 2005, I went through a phase where I tried to find and learn as much PUA literature as I could. Well, guess what? In most of the materials, only 10% to 25% of information was of any use to me, 50% if the book was really good. The rest was too vague, too naive, or just too outlandish. I ended up dropping the PUA thing almost entirely. I now check up on it only occasionally for my own benefit. I reached a point where anything I learned gave me a base to work off of, and let me develop my own methods of approaching women. Not that they work every time, but I get results often enough.

Consider the following. One of the David DeAngelo’s Interview Series CDs suggests doing this: when you’re eating dinner with a woman in a restaurant, rearrange the glasses and silverware on the table to align them more properly. Supposedly, it indicates that you’re in control of your world. Well, guess what? Lining up objects is actually one of the symptoms of autism! (No offense to anyone with that condition or its variations.) I had no idea where the person got it from, but one thing for sure: I didn’t take the advice.

If about 25% of the PUA stuff is useful and about an equal part of it can make you look more awkward, its helpfuless will depend critically on the amount of social understanding, confidence and common sense you already have.

I guess a socially awkward guy is a lot more likely to pick an awkward trick out of the bunch. A bitter guy will pick the more defensive strategies. Also, if one guy who likes women and has reasonable social skill makes the same teasing jest as a bitter, awkward guy, it is never going to come across in the same way. The intent is different, the vibe is different and that makes the effect different. The first guy will tease as a way to connect, while the second guy would use it as a way to get back at girls.

Rearranging silverware would bring a guy acress as scary. Not just in the neurotic/autism sense but also on the control freak/abuser spectrum. If he’d also act rude to a waitress or cussed in traffic, I’d probably bring up the creepyness of it to my friends.

There are a lot of bad and good PUA advice. To me personally, dinner dates are a VERY BAD idea…consider the sources of discomfort for people on dinner dates:

1. Women being self-conscious about eating and about their weight.

2. Lack of touching. You can’t touch the girl because you’re sitting across from one another, the longer you go without touching, the harder it will be to make the first move. If you have to sit down, always sit beside her.

3. Confusion about whose paying.

4. Lots of pressure to create conversation out of thin air.

5. Lack of outside stimulation. At least, in a bar, there’s other people around acting ridiculous that you can both comment on.

6. High investment. You look like a “couple” to everyone around. Both people might start to question whether they really feel OK with being a “couple” with the other person.

Unless you want to be in the Husband/Provider category or to stay out of it, avoid dinner dates.

> Like I said before…I am the voice of the single, desperate, lonely, heterosexual male virgin. 10-20 percent of adult heterosexual males are ether virgins or have only had sex with prostitutes. Most of us wont admit it because being a male virgin is WAAAAAAY more taboo than homosexuality. Hell…most people would rather be on record for saying “I hate all gays, blacks, and jews and they are the cause of all the world’s problems” than saying “I am a heterosexual virgin”.
>
> It is cruel enough that we are being denied a basic human need…but to boot there’s all these con artists who want to exploit how desperate we are by selling us snake oil and other scams that promise success with women.

Honestly, you sound more bitter than you do informative. I was a virgin until 22, not because of fear or inablility or lack of opportunity, but by choice. I’m not ashamed of it. I waited until my life was where it needed to be before taking the plunge with the right girl.

So I feel like I deserve a bit of merit when I say this: you speak of that which you know nothing about. You know nothing because you’ve never been there…the place in life that you’re criticizing. If you have any other reason for being a virgin, it’s because you haven’t figured out how to get laid. That’s nobody’s fault but your own. No matter how ugly you are, there’s someone uglier than you who would love to wake up next to you tomorrow morning. PUA is about teaching guys that they can prove to girls more attractive than them (physically, mentally, spiritually) that they would still love waking up next to them. (Even seeing them in broad daylight on a regular basis.)

Quite trying to rob people of that, because like I stated earlier, you know nothing of this.

This forum is extremely receptive if you actually want to learn what others have done. Or keep being a downer and follow the same path you’re on, your beliefs will keep you exactly where you’re at.

I actually (kindly) disagree. I like to stick with my strengths on the first date and for some, that’s this: I think that it’s a great way to prove you can handle an uncomfortable situation. It lets the girl know you’re focused on her, on creating a comfortable nice evening, that you have table manners and can be a gentleman, and it gives you a chance to show off how well you can converse. Now, true, it’s easier to blow your chances, but it’s a far better for “locking in” than having your date at a bar go well.

I’ll agree about not wanting to eat a lot, but not every girl’s like that. Plus if you spend enough time talking, you won’t eat much and both be able to take leftovers home so no one feels awkward. (Read: she’ll be able to finish later when her nerves settle.) plus it gives you a chance to ask her out for ice cream, which she’ll be starving and craving sweets because she hasn’t eaten much.

Then once she knows you’re charming/witty/decent, invite her out for the fun night once she’s proven she can be the same.

It worked for me. 😃

P.S. Blind dinner dates are a bad idea. You should have had at least 3 good conversations with her in some form (email, phone, in person) before sitting her down with Joe Random.

i kindly disagree with you as well..there are way too many women out there that are just trying to get free shit from men…i believe the term is “pussy power” i used to go the whole nine yards…didn’t get very far…now i won’t go past the coffee date…if she wants more than that…that’s the last she’ll hear from me.

one of the first things that my friend “the natural” taught me about women is that 90% of them will waste your time..either intentionally or indirectly…how good you are with women is directly related to how fast you can get through those 90% to concentrate on the other 10%

That probably applies to all people, not just women, but it’s a very insightful statement.

> nah man you’re way off. you’re right, it isn’t a coincidence. what happens is a lot of the good-looking guys will hook up without necessarily having any “game” solely because they are good-looking. usually this will happen early in their life because good-looking people usually will have been that way their whole lives. After getting some of these “freebies,” their game will develop as, we all know, getting laid does wonders for your confidence/congruence. this doesn’t mean that being ugly doesn’t get you girls. while many “ugly” guys are virgins, there is no cause and effect relationship between being ugly and not getting girls. when girls say “john is so hot,” they aren’t talking about his looks necessarily (actually they usually aren’t) they’re talking about the whole package, mostly his personality and the way he carries himself, along with his appearance and other things. i don’t even mess with that pua stuff but ive studied alot of psychology and i know this stuff. i could actually go into huge detail but it’s not worth it. i think you need to work on being a better friend though because it sounds like this kid is trying really hard to improve himself, and by having you as a friend, telling him that looks DO matter and (basically) that he’s screwed because he’s ugly, you are not only NOT helping but you are setting him back lightyears. give him the support of a friend even if you don’t agree with his methods. you should also check out some pua stuff just so you can see the psychology behind alot of the principles. then you’ll see why you’re so wrong. clone out

Dinner dates are the ultimate symbol of the Husband/Provider type for women. Think about how many movies you’ve seen where a man proposed to a woman over dinner? Hundreds and it goes right back to caveman days where food (providing!) was associated with a pair-bonding relationship. Dinner dates do not provide you any good opportunities to escalate physically, you can’t easily change venues, you’re not sitting where you can make a lot of physical contact, plus, the woman is being observed (or feels she is) by hundreds of other people, making her very self-conscious about her reactions and her interactions with you.

All in all, it’s extremely difficult to get a dinner date to turn into sex on the same night. You’d have to be an AMAZING conversationalist just to make it through the first hour of the date and still have her attention. Yet men everywhere continue to push the dinner date agenda every chance they get.

I got a first date idea that worked wonderfully for me many times: miniature golf. Here are my reasons for it: (1) it moves away from the traditional dinner and a movie type of date, which aren’t a good idea for first dates anyway; (2) if it’s outdoors, sunny weather seems to bring out the best in most people; (3) you don’t have a table in your way, which lets you do some non-sexual touching during the game; (4) if one of you messes up, it gives the other person an opportunity to do some playful teasing; and most importantly, (5) since you’re doing an activity, it gives you something to focus on if there’s a break in the conversation.

Here’s one touching trick I came up with (it only works if I get a clear vibe that a girl is into me). If she makes a great shot, I tell her: “awesome shot, you deserve a hug”, then go ahead and give her one. This reverses the typical male/female dynamic of dating. Instead of her giving me a hug at the end for a great date, I turn the tables and make it look like _I’m_ choosing to reward her with a hug.

Either way, I still pay for the game by simply going up to the cashier and saying “one round for two people, please” without asking my date. Of course, if she offers to pay for herself, I let her. My logic is that since I’m paying for a golf game and not dinner, it lets me be generous but doesn’t stick me with a “provider” label, like paying for dinner would. (If you read David DeAngelo’s books, he says that you have to be a “lover” and not a “provider”.) Oftentimes, we end up going somewhere for a snack afterwards, at which point, most girls I’ve gone out with usually pitch in. (Personally, it doesn’t matter, but I respect a girl a lot more after I see her do that.)

(Personally, it doesn’t matter, but I respect a girl a lot more after I see her do that.)

hmmm yup tried that before. got some tongue in the parking lot 😃 i’ll tell you my personal all time favorite…the one that’s gotten me laid at least 3 times since last year: i meet up for coffee at a coffee place right next to a movie theater…that way it’s easy to go to a movie since it’s right next door 😃. now during the coffee date…i test her to see if it’s gonna get physical or not..if yes then off to the movies, if not, then hey, i got shit to do tomorrow so lets call it in early. so if it progesses to the theatre that’s where i do most of my physcial escalating…a movie theatre is the next best thing to a bedroom in my opinion. if i can get a girl to hold my hand in a movie theatre, i can seal the deal with her within 2 days no prob.

Not every girl is open to one night stands and not every guy is just looking for one night stands. It does not matter if a guy is my physical ideal, fave movie star or whatever, early sex is not going to happen. If a guy would present himself as a bad husband/boyfriend, it would not work with me or any girl who does not have sex outside of a relationship. Of course, showing that you are a good lover as well as a good husband is important. I’m pretty sure any girl who is not into cheating or being deprived is looking for both these roles to exist in one person, as they do in every psychologically healthy man who fully embraces all aspects of his masculinity. Only neurotic girls believe a man can not be a good lover if he is a good husband. A good deal of people are neurotic, and if you wish to sleep around by targetting that demographic, kindly disregard what I’m saying. Just don’t assume every guy is looking to sleep around or every girl is neurotic.
