ditto - excellent advice! It comes down to this … if you want to be approached, be approachable.

PUAs call the long line of guys watching the girls “Death Row.” And aptly named! It’s a bit creepy being the girl dancing and having all these guys just staring at me, and at the same time it sucks for the guys who actually want to talk to the girls and can’t get up the courage.

I have a great trick for this, but it requires a crowd.

Going to the bar. Even if it’s just to get water (which is what I do, I like my H2O) it gives you the chance to brush bodies with guys, put your hands on their arms, shoulders, backs, to get their attention – then MANY of them will turn to see who’s doing it and lock eyes with you. Now’s your chance to smile, be polite and say excuse me. Bam. You touched them, made eye contact, and talked while showing them you are a nice girl.

A LOT, if they liked what they saw, will keep watching you throughout the night. SOME may even come up to dance or talk, and a FEW of those will ask for your phone number or say they want to see you again. ONE may actually call you… a month later. 😃

You can do this just wandering, too (I consider wandering ESSENTIAL anyway). Make sure you go through crowds. Avoid drunken people holding alcohol and cigarettes (and you laugh now, since it should be obvious… but I’m a slow learner ☹).

As for the rest, and I will say this every and any time: listen to Lor. She’s not just holding a golden apple, she’s gold herself.

Well. HB Lor - Bitchy Type - lol 😕

I plan to have kids with a super hot wife and I am by no means ugly to let’s hope our daughter turns out to be a hottie.

Anyway. The reason for rating yourself is to get constructive feedback and gauge your status vs. reality. For example, going up to a stranger and saying, “Hey. How’s it going. Listen I know we will probably never see each other again, but because you are a stranger to me I really want your honest opinion on this ok. One a scale of 1-10 how hot am I. Or. Does this tie work with my jacket?”. Hotornot worked on this concept and it took off.

Granted, some people will rip you apart, but all in all, if you ask 10 people you usually get a pretty interesting range of answers to gauage yourself. From there, if you are HB4, 5, 6, 7, 8,10, at least you know how the “world” perceives you and you can make changes to attitude, clothing, posture, etc to raise your hotness level.

There’s just something off about a girl who thinks she’s hotter than she is, isn’t there?

There’s an interesting post on MM about more beautiful women being treated better in life and thus have developed more naive/optimistic attitudes. But let’s not go there for the sake of sparring a crazing discussion with the phero ladies. 🙂

Yeah this works great at bars/clubs. Shoulders, arms, and the back of your spine (just above the hip) will make the guy turn fast. I know I do.

Good stuff

Interesting thoughts Wind.

In my experience, The really hot girls I approach are always pretty nice to me, even if there is no attraction. Usually I will get a HB10s attention but get blown out by her friends much more often than her. Ironically, some of the less pretty ones are mean as hell

What’s your take?

If someone is putting out a friendly vibe, they’re fun to talk to and be around, even if they may not be physically attractive. Such a person is easy and fun to approach and talk to.
>
> PUAs seem to pride themselves on having the “balls” to approach women putting out hostile vibes, and winning them over. For many of us, hostile or seemingly hostile women are just not worth the trouble. A woman who continiously evaluates converstaional partners and hurts those not good enough for her, may be condemming herself to a lifetime of interactions with PUAs.

Putting my two cents in on this one:

As a girl, I’ve been in situations where my friends have tried to get rid of guys for me. And there are three reasons:

1. I gave a signal, and they helped me out. This keeps me from being mean, and they are not invested in the situation. I bail my friends out as well (but with a much gentler strategy).

2. They’re doing it of their own accord, because they’re looking out for me. “You can do better,” they say, even if I like the guy just fine.

3. They’re doing it of their own accord, for some other reason that really confuses me, and makes me wonder if I’m really a girl because I don’t understand them.

As for women you consider less attractive and more mean, and just in general, this is most likely a defense mechanism, to protect themselves from getting hurt - as well as a huge self esteem issue. They have been rated all their lives, by friends and family, and compared to other people. It sucks.

And I’m not trying to point my finger at you, saying, “Boo, you’re rating.” I’m an attractive girl who has much prettier friends, and less prettier friends. I’m in the middle and have to deal with both sides. It is horrible, which is why I try to avoid ratings in any situation, ESPECIALLY amongst women. So I know how it feels, and it’s not fun.

I do understand the reason for rating, though. Humans like to make categories. It’s much easier that way. Hell, I do it. I have my giggle factor, which is just another rating system, but without numbers. It doesn’t make it better, but there it is.

Wow. Really interesting. I have my own ideas of the answers but would love to know the following:

1. I gave a signal, and they helped me out. This keeps me from being mean, and they are not invested in the situation. I bail my friends out as well (but with a much gentler strategy).

What are some potential “signals”?

1. They’re doing it of their own accord, because they’re looking out for me. “You can do better,” they say, even if I like the guy just fine.

Let me ask you this: if you really liked the guy, would you deliberately hang around him despite the non approval from your friends?

1. They’re doing it of their own accord, for some other reason that really confuses me, and makes me wonder if I’m really a girl because I don’t understand them.

I get the feeling this happens a lot with women (out of jealousy). This is why PUAs tend to befriend the less attractive friend first so she doesnt cockblock with the HB8+. Excuse the language.

“So I know how it feels, and it’s not fun.”
Is this a feeling that you feel yourself as you’re judging your friends/yourself or the signals you get from other people “judging” you, and how can you tell if they’re judging?

I tend to sympathize with less “attractive” women who have great personalities: I really do. However, as a man I can’t control the direction of my sex drive towards a tight ass and hot face.

LOL! Okay, I’m rolling up my sleeves.

**What are some potential “signals”?**
Sorry, I can’t tell you this. The signals were made to be secret so neither the guy or the gal would lose face.I hope you understand why I personally won’t tell you. All I CAN say, is it’s probably far simpler than a secret handshake, and is rotated on a seven day basis to prevent detection.

**2) They’re doing it of their own accord, because they’re looking out for me. “You can do better,” they say, even if I like the guy just fine.**

**Let me ask you this: if you really liked the guy, would you deliberately hang around him despite the non approval from your friends?**
Yes, I would. If I like the guy, what my friends think isn’t going to stop me. My mom, somewhat, given the circumstances, but not my friends. Usually, though, really good friends will know each other just as well as themselves, so it isn’t an issue.

**3) They’re doing it of their own accord, for some other reason that really confuses me, and makes me wonder if I’m really a girl because I don’t understand them.**

**I get the feeling this happens a lot with women (out of jealousy). This is why PUAs tend to befriend the less attractive friend first so she doesnt cockblock with the HB8+. Excuse the language.**
Hmm… yes.

**“So I know how it feels, and it’s not fun.”
Is this a feeling that you feel yourself as you’re judging your friends/yourself or the signals you get from other people “judging” you, and how can you tell if they’re judging?**
Being judged, judging myself, as well as me judging others. I rated on [hotornot.com](http://hotornot.com) for a little while, and always felt dirty afterward. And really, you can tell when you’re being judged. Little comments amongst friends, or even at bars. I know the PUA stuff, so I know when a guy is chumming up a friend to get to me, or befriending me to get to a friend. I hate saying intuition, but this is true. I may think too much, but there’s also that feeling you get when you JUST KNOW.

**I tend to sympathize with less “attractive” women who have great personalities: I really do. However, as a man I can’t control the direction of my sex drive towards a tight ass and hot face.**
HAH!!! I can honestly say, you do NOT want to tell this to a woman. I doubt she would want your sympathy. This isn’t to be mean, but if I didn’t understand your context and what you were saying, it would be hard to stomach.

you can _hope_ your daughter turns out to be a hottie, but life has a funny way of showing you what your made of.

also, most people find their children beautiful nomatter what, but i fear “constructive” feedback is going to be why you will be raising her children when she is 15.
your beliefs will be noted by her, hiding it wont work.
validation is a funny character.

enough about kids though.

if the world revolved around their hotness level,im sure people like Bush wouldnt be president,Gates wouldnt be in every house, and i could list a multitude of other supposed “_nonhotties_”.

i find it interesting that their exists a community begging eachother the question “am i beautiful? am i okay? am i hot enough to be liked? how about be loved? well, i guess im hot enough to have sex,but maybe not unless they are equally as hot…wait omg im in love with someone less hot…how will i be percieved? isnt everyone life based on hotness factor???”

the answer is that the people who _talk about it_ arent _doing it.🙄_

people that know they are beautiful dont need to have it validated.

people that know their worth arent worried about where they stand on the hotness rating scale.

people that rate other people arent usually a blip on the screen of someone who doesnt do that.

thats why there will always be percieved challenges.
the “challenge” doesnt even know you are looking at her 😃

the other gals here have their own experiences to compare with view you have. some may or may not agree. i find a bunch of them humor you.
i however was in the arena, watching the mating game play out for over 10 years.
i watched , ive noted, i have other people’s experiences besides my own to compare with what you say (or in this case, you regurgitate because you need to follow someone. dont feel bad, some have to be followers if there are to be leaders) and i have to say, they are NOT congruent with the statistics PUA’s spew.
:o sorry.
guys desperate to get laid will say/do anything 🙄

She has a very good point, though.

when you create a society based on numbers, there’s no way to look at anything any other way. Personality 9.5, Ass 6.7, Face 3.3… damn. Here was a wonderful woman with things to offer, sliced into little bits.

It’s like going to a massive college, where you’re a number without a name, and your visibility is dependant on your GPA. You may be excellent at something that has absolutely nothing to do with academics, but no one will ever know. Shame, that.

The numbers create a veil - a person no longer becomes a person. If the over all tally doesn’t come up to snuff, you will never take the chance.

What does it mean then when a girl you talk to the first time starts giggling and giggling… is it a very good sign?

> Ok so instant sexy makes me feel sexy, act sexy. I get plenty of heads to turn but no one wants to act on it. Is there a pheromone that gives guys the balls to talk to you? I wish I knew what they were thinking, cuz they just gaze for the longest time. My friend who was wearing nothing was bubbly and bouncy and got guys to check her up and down AND talk to her.

I gotta speak up here. (Semantics are so much fun.) The reason the guys checked your friend out up and down was BECAUSE she was wearing nothing. And being bouncy just makes things worse. 😃

I know I didn’t help any, but again, I know I gave someone an opportunity to laugh. Oh, or to get annoyed with us men some more. 🙄

Now I gotta slink back to the men’s forum, where I belong. Pardon me, ladies. 🆒

Cheers,
