PheroQuirk, you bring up a very good point…it is much more beneficial to a man to understand women than the other way around…i don’t think a woman has to go beyond trying to figure out if a guy is good or not…men on the other have to develope much greater understanding and skill.
also the demasculinization of men is also true..take a look at the “teenage hearthrobs” today like zach efron and the jonas brothers..dam..those guys look like flat chested chicks.

Theattractor, i think you also bring up a good point…i don’t quite agree with you tho, but i do see it. as my friend marty(the feminist) explained to me…women were repressed at one point so they got pissed off and empowered themselves but ended up overdoing the power thing. it’s like a pendelum, it was on one side for a while, women pushed it on the opposite side, now society is waiting for it to come to the center.

> ok, i think we really need to get off this alpha beta stuff…it seems that both sides are having misconceptions about what an alpha or beta male is…this really doesn’t have a lot to do with prostitutes.

No that is one thing I do not have misconceptions on. I may be a postal worker but I did major in college in sociology and sexology which would have lead me into the field of sex therapy if I didn’t have kids and life didn’t interrupt. I have studied the Alpha Beta dynamics a long time. This why when I asked my son as I mentioned in my other post he said you already know the answer.

Its a large part of the general dynamics of all primates social structure and interaction. It has much to do with the original question. You really cant cover why men seek prostitutes without exploring the social structure.

The Alpha the leader,
Comfortable with his/her self. Self assured, confident,

Unconcerned with what others think of him. Has a strong character.

Assertively and Aggressively seeks whatever they desire.

They control and dominate there environment and do not let it control them.

His stance conveys this greatly confident unhurried focused determined.

The Beta Male…

Shows no self confidence. Is uncertain and it shows in his body language.

Combative, seeks approval, Follows others rules, not willing to risk anything. Easily threatened or intimidated.

The problem is all the PUA material out there has given a lot of misconceptions as to what a Alpha is. The ironic thing is that women pick right up on men using pick up artist material unless your a master and there are few masters. Just the fact a guy is using it screams Beta because it never occurs to the Alpha male that he has to learn tricks to impress. He believes he is impressive… therefore he is impressive. Much of it is attitude.

Snort 😃 I know he is gonna be a handful LOL He’s tall for his age 5’11 and she probably didn’t know how old he was.

> With regards to the evolution of male and female character, it seems to me undeniable that american women over the past few decades have become more masculine, and that american men have become less masculine. The interplay between biological and cultural factors is complex and hard to fathom. But there is clearly something going on here.

I totally agree with this. There is a shift in the dynamics occurring. It could be caused by the break down of the traditional family unit. Many men don’t have the role models they once had in the family unit or in the environment around them.

> In today’s world I have seen examples of each. Money certainly gives one the ability to explore the world, seek out potential new niches and take risks in a way that people without it are constrained from doing. Pheromone use is just one example of how one can use spare resources to transform oneself into a better version.

Its not my belief that money makes the man. I interact with some very very rich people everyday and just from observing the men who were born to money and the ones who are self made its clear. Good goddess and the sons of these well to do people. I haven’t met a Alpha in the bunch. They give a whole new meaning to pansy ass. Sure girls flock for the money but that’s it, again its a illusion. Other men see women flocking to these guys and assume..Hmm he must be the alpha but they couldn’t lead there way out of a paper bag. When its time for them to finally step up and the don’t have the ability or character to do so.

The self made men and there offspring show the drive and determination of the Alpha man. JMO

> No. However, seeing those shows definitely sends a message that it’s dangerous to talk about things with the wife. “It’s just a TV show!”, you might say. It is, but art imitates life.

Yes art does imitate life but TV is not art its entertainment. Another illusion.

I just want to point out that being a Beta is not some horrible stigmatism. People take it as a insult but its just part of evolution. As Pheroquick pointed out in society it can fluctuate according to environment and circumstances. Take me for instance. I am the Alpha in personality but I step into the Beta position in my relationship. Its not because I am not a high Alpha or strong enough to maintain my persona but because I simply don’t want to always lead and because I am not threatened by my husband taking the lead. In my family structure with my siblings my sister is the Alpha even to my brothers. We step into the Beta position again not making any of us less alpha in personality. There are levels to the alpha dynamics that probably bore most people but I find fascinating and as attractor pointed out the Alpha can not exist without the Beta.

Let me get this straight. If a Beta reads some PUA materials, women will know he’s using a script, and will reject him. And if he does his usual Beta routine, they will still reject him. So, it follows that Betas shouldn’t even bother learning PUA tricks, because it won’t help anyway, and they’re pretty much SOL for their whole lives. Am I reading this correctly? 'Cause this sounds almost doomsday-ish.

Come to think of it, if this alpha/beta stuff goes mainstream, prostitutes (and other sex workers too) could _really_ harness it as a sales strategy. Something like: “Feel like an Alpha male for $200 an hour”.

Actually, it isn’t doomsdayish, because anyone with an ounce of courage and armed with information can become less beta and more alpha… anyone!

I gave you a thanks, because knowing it can be changed helps. The way Tisha worded things, it sounded like betas were permanently SOL. But I guess as long as you don’t obviously look like you’re following a script, you should be OK. Kind of like a TV announcer making it look like he’s ad-libbing, even when there’s a teleprompter behind the camera.

Yes, that’s what exactly escorts and call girls do. But if the alpha/beta stuff was widely known, they’d be able to use that exact wording “feel like an alpha male”. Then again, it would also open a can of worms in terms of job discrimination, but let’s not veer off on a tangent here.

_There is nothing new under the sun_. This is just a trend that has happened before.

In the 1920 men were making the same kind of comments and the same kind of complaints about women not knowing their place. This was during the roaring twenties when women were cutting their hair extremely short, were smoking, partying, wearing short dresses with no sleeves, and demanding equality for the first time. They were wild and they were frightening to men.

The same kind of thing happened in the 1840’s when women began fighting for the abolishment of slavery, for reformation in education, and began the temperance movement, and even though they didn’t have the vote, during this time they became strong political lobbyists who were very effective in steering the political conversation and climate of the day. They became a force to be reckoned with. There were complaints and comments about women that followed the same patterns during this time as well.

When men become weak, women take up the slack. When men become strong, women relax.

I think Tisha and Zeph both made the point that Alpha and Beta are points on a continuum. We take on different roles at different times and for different reasons. A person stuck in a beta mindset might be doomed from the point of view of a man who finds his own value in the number of notches on his headboard. Find your personal value someplace else and you take on another role. 😉 If you aren’t counting notches you’ll have less reason to seek out prostitutes too.

One other point, if you seek beauty on your own terms, and not on the terms of the media or what other guys think or what other guys girlfriends tell them to think, you’ll find that there are a lot of overlooked 9s and 10s out there.

> I didn’t say that specifically. But TV plants ideas into people heads. It portrays all men/husbands as dumb, and all women/wives as bitchy. As a result, men start expecting their wives to be like the TV wives, and women start expecting their husbands to be like the TV husbands. Then an ugly pattern develops. Each party expects the other to be bad in some way, namely, like the TV convinced them. But those stereotypes are mostly, if not entirely, anti-male. A “bitchy” wife is considered “strong” or “powerful”, while a “dumb” husband is simply looked down upon.
>
> That’s the difference between the depiction of women and depiction of men on TV. Accurate or not, it fuels the anti-male attitudes in our society.

Here’s a really easy solution: _ **“Turn off the TV!” 😮** _

Society doesn’t wait, it moves. If you don’t like what you see, change it. If women are disrespecting you, become respectable. Sitting around whining is exactly why you get disrespect.

Stop whining and make a change that will change your life for the better. Hookers blowing smoke up your ass may make you feel good for a half hour, or maybe even longer if you are really good about lying to yourself. But then eventually you will need that money for something else and you will have to kick yourself because you can’t pay for rent or food, or whatever… and then you won’t even be able to respect yourself, because you had to pay for it!

Women aren’t the problem, dude.

Ahhhh That is not what I said. I said …

It doesn’t teach men to be Alpha males. It teaches them to be players. Alpha males while they have the ability to be players if they want generally are not. They set some pretty high standards for themselves and others they adhere to. They are not just sexually or visually stimulated. Their standards are much more stringent then that which is why you will see many Alpha males settle down with women most other men would not consider to be a 8 to 10 on the hot scale. I am not in any way saying that all PUA material us useless. Hell I teach alot of it, people try to conform to it instead of taking what they can use and adapting it to there own persona.

No where did I say Beta men are always rejected by women. While its true that women attract to the Alpha more often Beta males who embrace the fact that they have some of those qualities and strive to be the best they can be instead of being something they are not like many of the hard core PUA’s do are just as attractive. In relationships someone is going to take the Alpha stance and someone is going to take the Beta even if your both alphas or betas. This is what I was talking about with levels and how its fascinating.

Just reading your response though screams something to me. I really didn’t see anything negative in what I wrote but you did. Stop that LOL

Believe in yourself , Don’t concentrate on the negatives in life. Take what you learn and adapt it to fit you whether its about PUA, [pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/), body language, nlp, influence or manipulating energy ect ect. Don’t tell your self you cant or your not confident enough or the world is making it hard for you. Just keep telling yourself you can and you are attractive and confident and when you do this it will all come together suddenly.

One small speck of doubt and negativity can and darken and cloud a whole person . One small speck of light and positive energy can illuminate a whole person. We all have both in us the trick is to have more light then dark.

Keep learning and evolving it should be a life long endeavor and soon you will lead.

Tisha

I’ve been reading this thread (damn the whole 12 pages!)

Wow, I got to say this whole alpha/beta personality type - thing is so interesting … I got to say thanks Tish/Diana cause dayum I didn’t know that much about alpha/beta guys/girls…

Alright, now to the point. Why do men love prostitutes?

Cause obviously it’s so easy to get laid. C’mon do we have to spell it out? I thought this was obvious. If you got the moola you get the la-la

Prostitutes know a certain degree about sex, and will basically do anything you want without saying “uhhh…ew…no.” And many other members have said enough about it, so I’ll spare your ears from listening to my explanations…which aren’t even as good lol

Should it be legalized? No. If it were legalized I could just see the image of younger girls like 16-18 and onwards going the easy way. Hell, some of it is happening already. There’s more to life, and there are other ways to make money. Sometimes I feel like these prostitutes are emotionally deteriorated or had an extremely tough life…it’s sad. But then this is just my opinion.

I’ve read most of the thread and disagree with a lot of what has been said, especially with many of the generalizations that have been made about men. Either I am a very strange man and hang out with other strange men, or some assumptions were made on personal experience and that person thinks everyone else is the same way.

I did not lose my virginity to the first person I could, but rather my to a long-tem gf at a young to average age (mid teens). After that I have never slept with a woman I have not been attracted to whether it be on a physical or emotional level. Although I will admit at the risk of sounding shallow, that I have been physically attracted to every woman I’ve slep with.

I don’t sleep around or have the desire to sleep around.
Sex is great and one of my favorite activities ,but if I slept with every woman I was attracted to or I had some sort of connection with, I’d have to test myself for diseases way more than I would be comfortable with and run the risk of fathering a few unplanned babies. Also I value sex as something that implies a bit more thought, but I also admit I have had one night stands and don’t dislike them, just choose to keep them on the minimal.

In my experience I have found that most of the girls I talk to or get to know are actually really nice and many of those that seem bitchy have become some of my closest friends. So no, I don’t think women have gotten bitchier (although I did not live in the sixties so I could not say), but rather think that many guys just have that prejudice from the begining and don’t get to know these girls. Maybe it is the opposite and society and things like sitcoms and movies have made guys think that the average girl is a bitch, who knows.

The point to this self-centered post of mine is that I disagree completely with some of the assumptions that were made, but at the same time can understand the question posted by this thread.

I can definitely see the appeal of prostitution because frankly it is similar to the appeal of drinking or even drugs. An activity that provides a dose of pleasure with no short-term consequences. Add sex to this and come on, we can definitely understand it a bit better. I think women and men can both be attracted to this concept in this way, not only men, but let’s face it, it has been a lot more accepted as a practice men seek. It wasn’t long ago in societies of first world countries that father’s would take their sons to the brothel to lose their virginities, but how often did a mother bring her daughter?

The fact that it has been always frowned upon a lot more when women seek a prostitute I think has limited the amount of women that actually go out and hire one, but gigolos are less uncommon than we might think. Sex is a universal appeal, easy acquired sex is too.

Whether it is the power or the satisfaction that one feels when you can just look at a list of women (or men for some people), choose the one you like best, and engage in a completely self-centered sexual encounter (I doubt anyone is wondering how much the prostitute is really enjoying herself, but rather how good can she fake that she is) prostitution is nothing more than a quick fix of an urge.

I have never been with a prostitue even though I could afford most likely an attractive and clean one for the same reason I don’t do cocaine. Quick fixes with no short-term consequences usually bring long-term ones. Also, I think that prostitution (although quite attractive in theory) limits one of the things that I look for even in the most casual of sexual encounters, a chance of forming any type of connection or lasting memory. However, many people experience with such fleeting pleasures and like the idea of not having to work to achieve a certain end. I definitely feel like some days this is more tempting that others. However I feel pornography cures these urges in a much easier, cheaper, and legal way.

Hmmmm I don’t quite understand. Lighten up

No one is arguing, we are having a discussion.

Why is it that you think when a person doesn’t have the same point of view as you they are arguing ?

You don’t want us to express our knowledge. Then why ask the question to begin with ?

I don’t recall trying to help you will a problem. In fact I don’t remember you expressing a problem.

Show me where I crossed the line 😕

Your not picking your battle your running because every person doesn’t agree with you and you feel threatened. No one is threatening you. We are discussing a topic. I don’t feel threatened or ill feelings toward you because your opinion is different then mine.

But if it distresses you that much I will avoid your thread here. I will say this though. You just proved me right.

Lol. Truth be told IMO. That’s the blunt truth w/o beating around the bush.

^ what he said.

Honestly, this is the “world’s oldest profession.” It’s a job. It has customers. It’s kinda asking why you go see a doctor and the psychology or sociology of it. And before you flame me for that statement, I say that because different societies value doctors differently. Here in the US, its generally a well respected profession. According to my bro (hearsay) who went to Spain for a few months, the attitude there is different. People don’t want to be doctors and the profession isn’t as respected as it is here. In Asia, at least China, doctors are considered one of the top, most respected professions (I say this because I’ve had patients BIKE 30 miles just to see a doctor. Took her 4 hours and that doesn’t include loss of pay from her job). And with escort services, the attitude with that is also different in every country and even WITHIN the country. The only difference between the two is the legality of the profession and there are even doctors who will do illegal, shady, immoral and dangerous (sounds a lot like the dangers of prostitution and engaging in them no?) things for money too. Illegal abortions… fixing people up cause they can’t go to a hospital… etc. Do you think there’s a psychology for going to doctors performing illegal operations? Not really too much.

Really, bottom line, you go see a hooker. You pay her, she gives you service. The only real psychology is how good it was and if you will return no? It’s a service. She wants you to return cause she wants money. You will return if you had a fantastic time and if it was worth the money in your opinion no? A lot of retail and service industries these days focus on customer satisfaction to get returning customers. Its no longer about selling to anyone, who cares if they come back if they bought shit. Its about CUSTOMER LOYALTY. The psychology of that is simple. Happy customers come back meaning if there’s some hidden desire or fantasy, a customer can get it done with a prostitute. Why would you pay for sex if you didn’t get what you want right? Why would YOU go see a prostitute?

With the whole sociological aspect you’re looking for, I think its better to ask WHY is it illegal, seen as immoral, why both parties may be looked down upon. Both people have needs, both got it satisfied. A lot of sociology can be found in our laws… as well as a lot of money as was noted earlier.

/edit
Also about Diane’s post, usually when we get pissed off (myself included) it is generally because something they said was true and we were offended or butt hurt. I know its that way for me. I know this because some of her posts touch on some spots with me and I’ve thought some of the stuff she’s written were absolutely stupid and pissed me off. There’s also the flip side, she’s written a lot of insightful posts with good info that I’ve been trying to incorporate in my life. So the fact that you’re pissed off, I really think she touched on something that might have been closer to the truth than you wanted out there, it might not be exactly accurate, but close. My 2 cents, probably unwelcomed.

I don’t really understand your problem with the responses to this thread. You made a very generalized statement of ‘men love prostitutes’. There are people agreeing to your position and people who don’t. Everything that has been said about alpha/beta has a strong connection to your very own post - it simply states reason why NOT every man loves prostitutes. I’ve read this all and nowhere have I seen anyone attacking you or crossing a line… 😕
