Who cares?
Me personally, I like the idea of [pheromones](https://pheromonelabs.com/) only being used by a select few who are passionate and have done the long hard research and field testing.
I’d probably lose my passion if it became a big ‘thing’ and everyone was doing it and it got to the point where women would be like ‘mmm is that androsterone I smell on you’?
Or if I were to walk into a room with people and me myself starts to distinguish all the pheromones on the other men.
Plus what kind of advantage would I have if several other guys around me also had mones on?

With that being said, I also like the fact the one size doesn’t fit all. For the most part, a lot of us have to customize our products to work to our liking. And this also changes with age.

But to respond to the question, even reputable companies and sites aren’t infallible.

i would love to give a nice explanation:

It was explained by “mythbusters” that pheromones are “myths”, and that it does not work at all. The way they done it was quite good, with performing a real “blind” test (they did not do a double-blind one, which is much better). From their test, they confirmed that pheromones did not work, yet there was a “weird” bias in their test: Pheromones did seem to get a HIGHER amount of people who liked the smell compared to their control, which makes me wonder: If I do a double blind test with unscented TUTH vs pure perfumer alcolhol, give them to a friend and ask them to ask 100 woman to tell me which bottle smelled better, which one would people prefer? If there is no difference between TUTH and perfumer alcolhol, then there would be a 50/50 deviation, however I noticed that on prolonged exposure to unscented TUTH, my girlfriend suddenly becomes more sexually active than without.

There are a LOT of tests that tell you that pheromones do work, however its easier to say that “it does not work” than to say “it does work”. Denial works better than stating the facts: It does work, in specific cases, with specific people, in a specific setting. If you can replicate those, then you will see that it works.

Which product have MB guys used? If I get it right, they tested the smell of product in two different bottles asking people which smell they like most??

I think the problem with the tests that have been done is that the group of people was too small. Also, everyone has different chemistry/genetics which is why there is no “one size fits all”.
One of the past posts here compared women wearing makeup to someone wearing pheromones. All people are not going to react the same way to a woman wearing it. Differing tastes, differing looks, etc. Also, the wearer has had to experiment and tweak their own usage of said makeup based on skin type, skin tone, age, and so on.

The great thing about Androtics is they give you an [awesome guarantee](https://a314.com/). You can try a lot of their products, if you’re not convinced, return them.
By testing and using the pheromonetalk support forum to help tweak your usage, there really is no loss for you, only the potential for great gain if you keep an open mind and experiment with it.

The one from ACME Corp. I would think it was containing A1 or something similar (most likely love-scent).

They did it like this:

- t-shirt straight from the package with nothing on it (control)
- t-shirt worn all day by MB
- t-shirt sprayed with phero spray
- t-shirt from the washing machine (laundry smell).

Put them all in a closed box, and then with a push on the button you get a whiff of whatever contents were inside that box (using pressurized air). You would not know which one was what, and you had to “vote” which one smelled the best.

And it came out that the one from the washing machine smelled the best, but surprisingly to them the phero spray was a pretty close runner-up, together with Jamie’s t-shirt. “Myth busted” they said because the phero spray was not a clear winner…

They seem to have misunderstood a few things. Regarding pheromones, skin is the mixing canvas, not clothes. They could have got pheromones with known dosage for that study. And there’s way more to it than smell alone. Plus, A1 is touchy to use from the get-go.

Well…

But I’m sure it was entertaining to watch. I generally like what these guys do. And often, entertainment is all that matters for TV 🙂.

I remember seing a TV report on pheromones, eons ago, somewhere in the 90s, in one of those pseudo-news program where that reporter went out in public to try pheromones in a shopping mall. The label said to use like 3 sprays, and the guy goes oh well, let’s go for the gold, he went trigger-happy, using god knows how many sprays probably OD’ing on unbuffered/unsteered -none big time in the process. Plus plausible OD on the fragrance!! He went to that mall with a hidden camera and got put aside by the security within minutes because the female customers had complained about some creepy guy. Good taste, judgement and journalism do not always go well together. And that’s far from science.

mrseeker, I am hoping you put the videos up in jest. The TED video totally debunks pheromones while the ‘Special Report, Carmen Pulumbo’ is cleary faked.

Who says that lifehacker is reputable? Me? You? Its as reputable as the Carmen video. In fact, its as reputable as a chef cook on national television representing their product.

About the TED video: It does NOT debunk pheromones. It just tells that most companies just focus on one pheromone, rather than the 400+ that humans have. If you check on the Androtics page and go to the “putative” section, then you know why its so difficult to find the ideal mix. Those are all different molecules that are related to the human smell. There are studies that indicate that humans can smell pheromones, however due to evolution and the unnecessary use of pheromones, we cannot smell as much as dogs do. When you are blind though, you rely a LOT on smells and sound, more than normal people.

There is science backing pheromones. The myth that keeps going around and around is: “pheromones won’t work”. Reason why it does not work (and that comes directly from the TED talk) is that there are SO many scents that you simply cannot validate claims for each and every one of them. My tests are mostly “doubleblind”: I get a product with a number on it, I test it out, report my findings. I don’t know what the product does, I don’t know what it is used for, and I certainly don’t know what the mixture contains. I had a spray that was literally a “dud” for me, MX that totally did nothing. Tried again, same effect. No self-effects, no difference in my neighbourhood, totally nothing. I know Androtics can mix an occasional “blank” in their products, and you don’t know if it works or not unless you try it out yourself, but if I say because of that experience that “pheromones don’t work” is like saying that you are trying to hammer a nail into a steel plate. You are using the right tools, but the wrong location.

It’s funny to me when they test for ‘desirable scents’ haha.
A pheromone doesn’t have to necessarily be desirable to be effective. Nor does one even have to smell it. Sometimes I don’t really smell mine when I wear them - still get self effects.

Also, sort of similar with what mrseeker said, I’ve worn pheromones that I had no clue what they were claimed to do, tested, noted what they did, and guess what? As soon as I searched this forum, sure enough it was the same results.

I’m loving this stuff, I say let the world be ignorant!
More for us!

I finally had the chance to look at the videos.

#1: Man, that product is the absolute novelty shop joke snake oil thingy! Who cued that blonde to that particular product? A spam email in her garbage box?? That thing is cologne heavy and she puts on four sprays… “Smell me and join me for a tea”, creepy approach. If I was a lady, I’d run. Bogus product and stupid modus operandi. 18 mg of what?? Definitely set up more like an infomercial than an actual report. Highest concentration possible!!! From a doctor… I suppose we get a free potato peeler if we call within the next five minutes and get instant free delivery from a christ on a fu\*\*ing bike O\_O??

#2: That guy could use mones cause he is a darn boring and shineless speaker to listen to. He kinda reminds me of the South Park school counselor. [youtube.com/watch?v=Uh7l8dx-h8M](http://youtube.com/watch?v=Uh7l8dx-h8M) . The content is generic information. Doesn’t debunk (or bunk, lol) anything. Just boring.
