The two bottles I have had didn’t have any identification number or version. It was the normal one, not mutant/unscented, first one bought in march-april and second one bought in august i think. If they are different version I don’t notice it neither by different effects or scent, they seem to have the same one, I love that royal oil 😉.

The current A314 is scented with Oud?

I thought A314 was unscented. I can’t smell it, anyway. Regular version - not white cap.

Right out of the bottle, I think it smells like BO.

I don’t know what women or anybody else thinks. No one has ever said anything about it to me, good or bad, while I’ve been wearing it. Mind you, after it settles in after application (30 mins or so), I can’t smell it anymore.

I’m in favour of an unscented version .. in fact I just ordered the ls a314 version since that’s claimed to have less of a scented oil than the one sold here…

Hi to all,
I’ve never tried the A314, but I’m thinking of adding it to my next order. I wish there was a scentless version, so I could use my favourite parfume with it.

See ya

I do have a bottle of new A314 (thanks heaps, Jas 🙂 ). It is definitely not as heavily scented or as hippie-smelling as the one I had a few years ago.

Ok I did some digging and finagling and came up with some interesting info on why some people are reporting different scents with A314. Hope you dont mind me putting it here. 😛

> [@](#):
>
> **BY JASMIN** Because natural oils never smell exactly the same (much as wine never tastes the same year to year), we figured we’d work with that and always make new batches of oils to go into each microbatch of A314. Regardless of where you bought A314 from, the oils change about every 250 bottles or 500 bottles, depending on how much of a certain oil blend we had. So far, we’ve had around 30 oil changes now since the introduction of A314.
>
> Here where we’re selling direct to consumers, so we’re also interested in using more expensive oils and different types of oils. This is the same thing fashion companies do like Just Cavalli, Armani, BCBG, Gianfranco Ferre, Donna Karan, etc. They all have a line for department stores, which require a certain amount of markup, and a different, higher end line for their own stores. They give you the most they can, given what’s financially possible. (This is not to knock department or retail stores at all. Multibrand retail stores can be more convenient, because they have a greater selection)
>
> **EARLY 2007** The current shipping version of A314 contains a light Indonesian agarwood. It’s reinforced with a very small (and barely smellable, so don’t worry about it’s use in the office) amount of real whale ambergris, real deer musk, real (and what smells like some synthetic) rose and some other nice oils. It’s all stuff that we’d never be able to sell through a distributor, because of financial considerations.
>
> We didn’t end up liking the light Indonesian agarwood as much as the natural perfumer that sold it claimed we would, so the current batch is actually limited to 90 bottles. (the upside is that we’re not charging anymore for the current version of A314, despite the more expensive oils)
>
> **Current version** The A314 version we’re really looking forward to is the “Royal Edition”. It’ll sell for more than regular A314, but it contains some of the nicest plant and (no kill) animal oils that we’ve ever smelled. We call them “Royal Oils”, because they’re truly fit fot a king. I don’t know what % of Royal Oils we can incorporate into A314 itself (it depends on how much people are willing to pay), but almost everyone who’s smelled the _concentrated_ Royal Oil blend falls into a nearly hypnotic stupor and says that the experience tickles them with delight down to their very soul.

All EO blends are very light so you can smell the mones from the bottle and each batch comes out a little different.

The very first origonal had only 5 mones in it. Over the years mones have been added and it moved from 5 to 9 to 11 and now there are 16.

Just some little tid bits to think about before ordering . 😉

I still have a bottle of (what I think is) the original brew. Time to upgrade, I would say. 😃

Well at the moment I’m waiting for my ls a314 to arrive..
It’ll be next year probably when I’ll try the androtics one..

If given the opportunity, I would prefer to buy all Androtics products in unscented oil based versions. I would much rather apply the products and cover with my own cologne. I also sweat easily and live in Texas - Nuff said? Plus, at least for me the [Ammo](https://a314.com/product/ammo/) scent is WAY to strong and if I even attempted to use more than 3 sprays the smell would be so overpowering that I couldn’t even stand to be around myself, much less think that anybody would get close to me. Considering that I’m 45 years old, being able to use an extra spray or 2 would significantly enhance the results.

And, regardless of a money back guarantee or exchange program, I’m just not one to send anything back. Although I probably should exchange my 1X Ammo for a 2X bottle for the extra none boost, but don’t see myself actually doing it.

I would really be interested in this because I tried A314 a couple times and it’s a great product, but I absolutely HATE HOW IT SMELLS! It smells like the air freshner they use in bathrooms at the rest area. I feel like it’s a really cheap scent, and it reminds me of bathrooms. Something like the “phero game” scent would have been better. I would definitely buy a scentless version.

^and I agree with everything mark said. I would love everything in scentless oil versions as well.

I have been saying the exact same things for years, and I really sincerely truly genuinely hope an unscented A314 eventuates. Having said that, the current version is much lighter in smell and a bit easier to cover than before.

Although I prefer unscented products overall, I’d prefer certain products remain EtOH-based, for ease of use and better diffusion.

Of all the scented products I’ve tried, A314 has by far the best smell. It doesn’t smell very strongly to me at all which doesn’t mean others can’t smell it on me of course, but at least I haven’t had negative comments on it, which I have had when wearing Instant Shine and [Instant Openness](https://a314.com/product/instant-openness/). In fact I wear it without any cover scent.

Given a choice I would prefer to be able to buy unscented versions of everything, but then I am someone who wears cologne in very small amounts. I think it’s a lot easier to cover the smell of pheros than it is to cover the scent of neroli.

As for me, I have grown to love the musky, under the 3 day without a shower balls, and slightly mildewy wet clothes left in a washer to long smell. It’s delicious, and besides, it works and that is all that matters. 🙂

Please don’t ask me about that 3 day thingy.

I would be interested in an unscented version of A314 (for maximum mixability purposes), but I must say that the smell of the A314 I got in September of this year didn’t smell bad at all. It actually smelled good in a “different” way (Not “cologney”), and I would have no problem whatsoever in buying that version again.

It was also a very low key scent that you had to literally have under your nose to smell. It was so low key in fact, it could easily be covered up with my current colognes and Oil’s (Marc Jacobs, Issey Miyaki, Armani Code, CKbe, Egyptian Musk, and Nag Champa, ). They all mixed with no problem, and even though I’d be interested in an unscented version, I have no problems with the version from September.

Now, take [Instant Shine](https://a314.com/product/shine/) for example. I found it hard to mix scents with, because it’s own scent is quite palpable. So the mixes came out “okay”.

My thoughts.

Oh that…it’s from my private collection. My wife and I had that taken when we both posed for some professionally taken shots. You could call them glamour shots, but we paid a fortune for em. Very good photographer.

You can say that again.

Not only would I buy an unscented A314 in a heartbeat, I dearly wish that scentless would be an option for all of the products sold here. [Neroli](https://a314.com/product-category/scented/androtics-neroli/) doesn’t mesh with everything.
