> I suppose these can be life hacks but one thing strikes me funny. You dont believe in chemicals vitamins, painkillers drugs and herbals (herbals are naturally occurring by the way) but here you are using chemical pheromones. I am not judging it just seems in congruent to your beliefs.

Tisha, i seen a few of your posts, and i consider you an intelligent person. So i am not surprised you figured this out, thanks. You are right. And this is actually what lead me to the question i asked. (But if you read it again, you’ll see i only said i dont belive in chemical vitamins).
As you can see, i am a very skeptic person and like to keep with the good old safe side insted of trying anything new. So as you might understand, when i doo decide to try out pheromone, i would be skeptic about things such as ingredients and side effects. Also i would need to trust the company i [buy pheromones](https://a314.com/shop/) from. That is why i ask if its a good thing for a pheromone company’s spokesman to talk about drugs on the company’s web page?
This is not a question with a specific answer but more of a point view depending on who gives the answers. So even if it realy are tickling in my fingers to quote and answers to whats been posted from all of you, its maybe best that i stop from now, as i think it will lead to no good and only argues.
But before i stop, i would like to say that i dont think AD have drugs in their pheromone as some might think i belived. What i said was ment as an example to what people might think if issues regarding drugs keep popping up at this forum. What i wrote was not any statement of what i belive is any ingredients in AD’s pheromone, and i appologise if some thought this.

As i said, it would be best if i stop now about issue, so if anyone have something to say, they will not get any answers from me. (But i am still happy to see what you have to say).

Thank you, and be good.

I bought the HPP on Personal Ecology. I listened to the first one last night. We will see how this goes. I didn’t fall asleep or anything. I’ve read a bit about some of his programs and how others have used it intensely to create some pretty life altering changes. I have a natural aversion to hypnosis and I was pretty conscious the entire first track. I’ll just keep on going and see where it takes me and try to relax more next time.

I’m not sure if they could be considered “life hacks” as the term can, to some, imply a short cut. Most of what I do is hardly a short cut, but more like time efficient work on self improvement…usually stuff that the majority of people know about but simply don’t do, and a few things that very few people know about.
For example in addition to working out physically, I also have a lumosity account and participate in “brain training” a series of exercises that rotates daily to stimulate various aspects of mental focus, flexability, problem solving etc. To the degree that my memory, ability to calculate math in my head, speed read etc have all been improving quite dramatically.

Some of my life hacks for self-improvement and anti-aging:

1. floss your teeth. No, really. Floss your teeth. Old people smell old; its not just because [pheromone](https://a314.com/) production declines, but also I think because people slowly accrue stinkier bacteria communities in their mouths from years/decades of neglect. Young people (say 20 or younger) might get sour breath, but only in older people can you get that breath that smells like an outhouse on a 100F day (the oldfashioned outhouses, not those new ones that don’t stink). This is totally preventable with oral hygiene and proper dental/gum care. If you are non-flosser, try this: floss your teeth, and collect all the junk that comes out onto your finger. Smell that crud – other people can smell that! I rest my case.

2. Alexander Technique. Google it if you don’t know what it is. This one is both self-improvement as well as youth-preserving. People tend to acquire bad movement and postural habits throughout their lives. Injuries result in compensatory muscular habits that remain long after the injury is gone, causing other problems. By middle age, the average person has bad frumpy posture and basically just moves like an old person. Totally preventable.

3. Vitamin C serum for the skin. Scientifically proven to repair sun damage and promote new collagen production. So why isn’t it in every beauty cream? Because it has a short shelf life, making it financially infeasible to use in commercial products. Has to be mixed fresh, has to be pH 4 or below, a batch of 30 mls or so needs to be used up within 10 days to 2 weeks. To make it, mix 5g pure powdered ascorbic acid in 25 mls of water, and add some glycerin to make it spread and absorb better on the skin. I use it head to toe every day.

Sounds like a fun idea. I have just bought 2 packs of Windmill Health Products Formula Brain Enhancement Supplement Caplets 60-count on Amazon yesterday. Maybe I can use a brain exercise to determine of the supplement is working.

(I only get into supplement after I got into pheromone, they kinda goes hand in hand)

I’ve tried Brain Age and it’s cool to use at anytime. The games can get difficult as they become available to you. But just the ease of use by just breaking out the DS and your in, is nice! Take a few minutes while in line or any other time your waiting.

As opposed to Lumosity, which you have to be at your PC.

Though, I like the fun and entertaining construction of the games on the Lumosity site…

Do you have a teacher or do you just do exercises off the internet? If you are doing them off the interent can you recommend a good site. I remember Tacitus discussing this.

Great tip XEV, I will have to check this out. Speaking of anti aging. My friend Mare and I took a week end facial exercise class at omega a few years ago, we got to bring dvd’s home to practice with to and it actually works. We still do our favorite exercises. The lady who taught the class and developed the program has a website.

I work privately with an Alexander Technique instructor.

AT is not exercies or therapy. It is an interactive way of learning body awareness for optimizing movement and posture. I doubt most people would get far trying to learn it without a teacher. AT teachers spend 3 yrs of intensive training plus continuing education.

Some of the objectives of Alexander Technique are: 1)Gaining awareness of using all muscles to assist in movement. No muscle should be underused or overused. and 2) releasing unnecessary tension to allow the body to extend upward, starting with the head and neck.

Most people carry unnecessary tension, especially in the neck and upper back. Massages and other soft tissue treatments temporarily releave it, but don’t address the underlying muscular habits that cause the tension. Exercise can help, but generally people exercise with the tension, so the muscular habit continues to be reinforced, and can block optimal form in executing the exercise.

Over time, the neck gets contracted downward, the traps migrate upward, the upper back begins to hunch, the shoulders are rounded forward, and the hips push forward because the core is not engaged. When someone has been in this posture for years or decades, it really cannot be correct by just telling them to stand up straight, and it is not merely a matter of strength training either.

An comparative example of the application of AT can be illustrated by my attempts at good posture before and after AT lessons. Before AT, I would attempt to stand or sit with good posture by jacking my chest up and locking my spine in place with my abs and various other muscles. Inevitably, this approach leads to discomfort and pain.

The AT approach to good posture lies in release, not locking. I think of my body as a firm spring rather than a jack. The spring is released to allow maximal extension without discomfort or fatigue. I have gained awareness of many tiny (often deep) muscles that were either overworking or not working, and gained an ability to engage them properly.

My AT teacher works with musicians (who can _really_ f their bodies up with bad muscular habits), dancers, actors, runners and other competitive athletes. She can help anyone do what they do better. She’s facilitated nothing short of a physical epiphany with me. She’s been my ultimate life hack.

Where does one buy said pure powdered ascorbic acid? Awesome idea since the Cell X C products are way out of my price range. I also take colloidal copper - **IN THE APPROPRIATE DOSE** - being a necessary trace element for the production of collagen.
I supplement trace elements and minerals. I can’t spend $100 just on organic veges in a week, and there is no guarantee that those soils are all that they need to be, either.

I have bought it from skin actives scientific (do a search for ascorbic acid) and also even cheaper from vitacost (search for vitamin c then check ingredients to find one that is just ascorbic acid).

Your review and Tacitus’ pushed me over the edge. I put it onto my iphone so I can listen to it without having to run my laptop. In fact, I listened to part 1 again today.

I have a hard time not letting my mind wander all over the place while listening. In one of Tacitus’ posts he said that his mind was only in the right state of consciousness maybe 30% of the time which is why it is so important to re-listen to them. Maybe I’ll do another one before I fall asleep tonight.

Did you ever go into a trancelike state with these or was the experience mostly a conscious one? I’m pretty sure I understand the theory behind the way the CD is made, just from listening to it it seems obvious, but I’m not sure if I’m supposed to blank out or what…

If you can’t work with a teacher, then by all means, watch some video clips and also read some books about AT. It won’t be as effective as working with a teacher, but you might still be able to affect some positive changes in your body habits.
