Why…?
I mean.. sometimes I have no problems with posting and it shows up instantly, and then some times it just doesnt want to get posted, besides.. I havn’t yet seen a post I made that showed up later.. (with the amount of posts daily they would need an army of mods to be able to keep up with it…)

I havnt seen any other forums use that function.. so can anyone tell me why this1 does..?

(i tried searching for this a few times, but nothing came up, i appologise if its allready been explained elswhere)

It’s a forum glitch. It was rampant a few weeks ago, happening to everybody all day long … it seems better now; most of the people I see commenting about it now are relatively new to the forum and I don’t know why that is. But truly, you NOT being moderated when this happens - lord knows Jasmin has enough to do! - it’s just a glitch.

Hey there

Since PheroTalk is one of the only forums advertised on google, it is a major target for spam. It’s imperative for us to have a spam filter set up to sort out spam, to keep [PheroTalk.com](http://PheroTalk.com) from becoming [SpamTalk.com](http://SpamTalk.com).

The kicker is… Sometimes the spam filter picks up legit posts, too. :o

I and other moderators are in the moderation queue a few times a day to release good posts from post purgatory.

To make this job easier for us and to see your posts show up sooner rather than later, \*\*only post _once._ I couldn’t say that enough! Reposting over and over doesn’t increase the chance that the post will stick. What reposting _does_ is create tons of extra work for us, and that adds significant time how quickly we can release your posts and threads!

If you ever see your post get scooped up by the spam filter, don’t repost! Keep your cool and be confident that it will be released sometime within a day. 🙂🆒 If you don’t see it, shoot me a PM with a subject line that looks something like, “Post in Moderation: [Subject of Post]”. The more quick and concise you can get your subject, the faster I can tackle that missing post!

Tip: People with a postcount over 50 are basically exempt from the spam filter. The best thing you can do is chatter away until you reach that magical 50… Then you won’t worry about the spam filter again!

Hope all this helps. If you have any Q’s, you’re welcome to ask!

Thanks 🙂
Jas

There does seem to be a high correlation between post length and odds of moderation.

And again, I beg you guys…

Don’t repost: you only need to post once!

Well, I’m over 50 posts and I get caught once in a while. Rare. No idea why. Maybe it also has something to do with the age of the thread or number of responses. Or phase of the moon.

I’ve also had Quick Reply come back with an error message but all it says is “Okay” (but it doesn’t post). If I then switch over to “Advanced” and hit the Post button it works fine (and no repeats). It’s a Mystery…

Technology is wonderful, when it works right.

(Welcome to Westworld, where nothing can go worng!)

Maybe it’s the age of the poster? 😮

One trick to avoid this is to refresh the page after you log in, before you post anyting. I think the filter has a lag in recognizing you.

I’ve noticed that with my posts, too often, that the post never makes it onto the forum after going into purgatory, even after several days. This happens with my boring posts as well as the more “provocative” ones, so I don’t think it’s me.

But since I’ve been practicing the above tip, it’s been better, because stuff shows up immediately. I recommend others try it.
