I got my airplane tickets, only to realize too late that I stupidly neglected to notice that on my return, my layover in Seattle arrives around 10 something in the morning, and leaves around 10 something the following morning! I can’t believe I didn’t see this, duh!
Anyway, now I’ll be stuck there for about 24 hours, and was wondering if anyone familiar with that area might know of an inexpensive but decent hotel/motel/place to stay that is close to the airport, that also has stuff to do or places to walk around and see, since I’ll have way too much time to kill.
Well, the area immediately around the airport is fairly dense with a few bars, restaurants, and hotels-- basically targeting travelers. I can’t really say what the cost of any of them are, but I do know there’s a Holiday Inn right at the airport. Probably the most convenient in terms of location at least. There’s also a La Quinta and Days Inn nearby. I’d skip the Doubletree if you’re looking for cheap, however.
Check Google Maps and zoom in around the airport. There’s labels for most of the major places, so you can get an idea of proximity.
Hey Sillykitty, the light rail link goes to downtown and has a reasonable view on that journey. It starts at Westlake which is a plaza in the middle of downtown and one of my experimental grounds and terminates at the airport.
Have a look at these links, the Hampton, Motel 6, Marriot, Hilton and a bunch of others. This area is my old stomping ground and the view of Mt Rainier from there is AMAZING! Hope that helps.
