Once seated I’m greeted by my favorite waitress who is in “awe” and comments on my bright royal blue oxford silk tie. Was it a hit? Looking good is my specialty. My entree arrives and the seafood could not be any fresher. Everything is perfect. When my waitress appears again I ask to speak to the chef and he comes over with an enormous grin. These people notice the uncommon attention I receive on a daily basis, but assume its because of the way I dress. Proper shirts or sports jackets paired with the finest ties money can buy. Brilliant colors and well tailored suits. American made leather shoes polished to a mirror shine. Who would suspect science to be the major player here. As usual the women serve me first. Strangers are drawn to us like we are about to reveal the greatest scientific achievement of our time. The eye contact is incredible; everyone just stops and stares. One of my colleagues is just starting to get uncomfortable. I swear some people just can’t handle a good thing. We depart before someone has a panic attack. At this location and at so many others it is service with a smile. Where they know me and my unique signature; I’m always served before other customers and given extra special treatment. Compliments of the house are the norm. When and if there is a line, they pull me aside and bring me to a table as if I have an appointment. The staff usually compliments me on my style and often asks my opinion about very personal things or details pertaining to their life once engaged. This magnetism has always been there in the past, but not to the degree of austerity that there is now. I’m like a celebrity to these people and it easily distinguishes me from the rest of the crowd.
