I tested Instant Openness this week. Mostly at work, of course. I used ONLY IO, increasing one spray each day–applied mostly to the neck and upper chest area. I may have sprayed some on my wrists at times, but I’m trying to use the wrists as a last choice since my hands are usually cold.
I didn’t really notice much outward reactions…although at 5 sprays, four of my coworkers were paired up in simultaneous conversation at one point, which was kind of interesting. I don’t know if it was because of me, though.
I think my own optimal sweet spot for self-effects is about 3-4 sprays. I wore 3 sprays to church one day and found myself wanting to and wishing that I could converse with people. I remember looking at the official-looking jacket a lady a couple of rows up from me was wearing and being curious about what it represented. I really wanted to know!!! And usually I’m really indifferent about people–not much interested in them.
At 4 sprays I kind of felt like I was comfortable talking. When someone asked me something…I could speak without feeling that weird about it.
So I think IO has potential for me. I didn’t experience people coming up to me and wanting to chat, but at 3-4 sprays I had the bubbling urge within to engage in conversation…kind of like an itch…I wanted to chat like a normal person would, but didn’t. So I guess for me, the IO produced the desire to interact socially, but not the confidence or push to actually initiate and do it. Maybe paired with TAF or instant shine, I’d get better results (self-effects and other). Or maybe IH will work much better.
I’m going to have to try it the next time I purchase these things. My main problem is that I’m shy and I’m uninterested in having social interactions with people who I don’t know. People who want to get to know me smile at me all the time, and I freeze and pretend I don’t see them. I know I’ve hurt people’s feelings because of it so I’m working hard at making eye contact and smiling, it’s still so hard for me to just smile back. I feel awful that I keep coming across as rude or stuck up. One time, this guy who had been trying to get to know me for weeks was observing me from a distance and after about 10 minutes, he was looking at me like, what’s wrong with you? One of the pheros I’m using made a huge difference in helping me to smile at people and make eye contact. I’m hoping this product will help me feel more at ease when I talk to people.
You may be a step ahead of me because I really don’t even try to notice people looking at me. When I look at people, my gaze is sweeping…making sure not to land on anyone’s eyes, if i can help it. It’s a weird habit I’ve developed, I guess to keep people from noticing me.
I think I understand some of what you’re going through because of what has been happening to lately. I use to be outgoing, then I went through years of social anxiety, and a while ago I couldn’t even smile at people. I know the phero helped me and I believe that eventually, I will be able to smile comfortably at people without the need of pheros. Only way to break a habit is through practice. If the pheros will help me with that then I’m all for them. Since you have the desire to talk to people, it’s only a matter of time before you will begin to do so. Maybe you can start by not making eye contact with people, but by just noticing them, and observing them a bit. Notice something nice about them, and think about that. That way, even if there is no eye contact, you will at least have a pleasant sweet disposition on your face if they happen to see you. You’d be surprised how ignored many people feel and how they actually appreciate to be noticed. I’m sorry, I know you didn’t ask for advice but it’s one of my many faults that I’m working on. lol
Cindy, you say, “One of the pheros I’m using made a huge difference in helping me to smile at people and make eye contact.” Which pheromone are you using?
Nice report!
I need to get used to IO again. I still have two bottle’s I haven’t gone through. A little afraid to use them cus I get anxiety… at least when I was around the last guy I dated. It was like I could talk to him about everything without IO, but when any IO was introduced it made talking awkward for me and I wasn’t able to enjoy being in his company. This was on every account that I wore IO.
But I’m trying not to be discouraged. Maybe it was just his chemistry mixed with IO that through me off. After all I got social anxiety hardcore with TAL… So yeah, gonna try IO again.
Thanks for the great report and inspiration!
It’s really interesting… I have quite an opposite attitude (as in I can’t shut up even when I WANT to - I need a muzzle), and OI takes people around me to the same degree of unstoppable blabbering.
Which really reflects how pheros are dependant on one’s personality.
I am really glad this product is working for you. I just read your post on honesty. Pheromones was doing it’s part it seems but you held back and I think next time you should work with your pheromones and just do what you feel.
