There’s a lot of posts on how good A314 is, and a few by me too but it all adds to the data right?
Product: A314 v23
Dosage: 2 drops, 1 split between neck, 1 split between wrists
Environment: going to a client site.
Effect on others: Man on the phone had been patronising as hell to me. On arriving he showed me the facilities, the bathroom and so on, all as if he was bored, then took me to the board room, made me a coffee and proceeded to bring in some of the seniors in the company to introduce me as the guy who’d “fix their problems”. Seemed like once a few minutes had passed and the A314 hit properly he totally changed his line on me.
For the record I was also dressed in smart suit, tie, polished shoes, gave firm handshakes with eye contact - acted and looked the part for A314 which is important in my experience.
Self-effects: I know not everyone likes self-effects but I love the calm assurance of A314. I was wise-cracking with people I’d normally be pretty wary of, and it was well received!
When I first started with A314 I always had it buffered because I’m not the kind of guy who suits the A314 vibe…or so I thought. But I found that if I did the congruency thing people were quite happy to accept I could be “A314”.
The clients weren’t intimidated - take it that they were much more “A314” than me and it just narrowed the gap between us so instead of it being a gulf of a couple of storeys we were more at eye level with each other.
It’s very situational with A314 for me. Down a bar I wouldn’t wear it unbuffered, and in some work situations I wouldn’t wear it unbuffered either, if, for example, I needed to get people to my view through rapport rather than just have them agree with me because of my status vibe. I’d also buffer it for a collaborative workshop type scenario.
But in that kind of situation where I’m the “outsider” and there is a risk that that status and the reason I was there could lead to a lack of respect that would actually hinder my work I’m happy to wear it “naked” - it gives me a bit of a “we’re all on the same page” kind of effect with those kind of people. 99.9% of the time I find people treat me as they should even in that situation after I’ve spent a bit of time with them, A314 just fast-forwards that and makes it happen a lot quicker for me.
They didn’t ask me in because they were having a great time, I was there to offer tech support really so I needed that fast-forwarding!
I have to be careful - 2 drops gives me the calm respect vibe, but 3 or more gives me the slightly arrogant vibe and self effect that wouldn’t go down so well.
A lot of people don’t take well to someone who thinks that they are above everyone else. Arrogance is not a good thing usually. Arrogance isn’t really a good thing.
unless you are someone very prominent like a senator, a general inthe Army, a nobel prize laureate; a best writer, singer, cook, dancer in the world, or any one of the best in any field, it looks very silly and pathetic to seem or act arrogant.
Even these very famous, or even infamous, people shouldn’t act like that. It is a major turn-off and improper; they should be more humble… However, it is different than saying you should have some PRIDE and be PROUD of yourself. It is just not too cool to look down on anyone and act like everyone is beneath u
What those guys said is true. In my working environment anyone who tried to be arrogant would be laughed out of the office and openly mocked to their face . Being proud of success and achievement is one thing, being arrogant isn’t generally seen as an attractive or positive character trait (at least where I work).
hmm =) good point, I didn’t think of arrogant like that, I just thought of it was being exceptionally cocky.. but not like I’m better then you, just I really really like who I am kinda deal yea thinking your better then someone else is never good
A thin line exists between confidence and arrogance and most of the time I’ve found that unless it’s taken to an extreme, as long as your congruent it should be alright. The trouble lies in broadcasting via body language an unwillingness to face the consequences of your actions.
Self-doubt exists in all of us and is useful in helping you to decide if a change of course is necessary. However when difficulties arise failure of decisiveness may be interpreted as uncertainty and that’s when challenges and lack of acquiesce is most likely to occur.
