Further to my above post, DSM V proposes to create one category of Autism Spectrum Disorder, thereby removing Asperger’s Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) from the DSM.
*DSM V is the planned fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, due to be published in May 2013.
This has upset some ‘Aspies’ - these people with Asperger’s Syndrome will now likely fall into the grouping of ‘mild’ Autism…
