Before ordering my P83 in 20% Akuto, I had no idea what it smelt like, but I ordered out of impulse, and because I heard some good things about it from many users and test subjects mentioned on the forum. So here is my interpretation of this smell.
In my opinion, it smells great when spread around and left to sit, the scent is awesome as it is highly masculine, yet light. But when densely packed onto one area, it smells pretty..well..how do I explain it? It smells like you just spent a day in a buddhist temple and rubbed yourself all over with incense. It’s kind of like the smell when you walk into a Thai, Vietnamese or Chinese shop/restaurant as well. It’s NOT a bad smell at all. Don’t get me wrong, I love the smell of incense as many others do, but IMO, I wouldn’t want to wear it on the daily. I like the smell, but I’m leaning more towards Neroli as a daily scent.
I know there are many types of incense scents, but Akuto just reminded me of the smell. I know this because being part Chinese, I’ve spent quite some time around this type of scent. Oh, and I love going to China town
. But hey, maybe it has some properties that incense does, such as repelling mosquitoes? Anyone know what it’s made of? Haha. I’ll report on that at a later time. (Since I live in such a humid and wet area, I hate tons of mosquitoes during this time. No joke!)
Anyways, others on this forum says it smells..spicy. This is somewhat true, as it tickles your nose in a way you have never imagined! Kidding, but it really has a distinct smell that smells somewhat like a spice, but not too offensive. It’s easy on the nose. Surprisingly, at one spray of 20%, the scent it still light..however, you can only imagine how it smells when you start layering 6x!
Again, this is only my opinion. For those of you who are Akuto fanatics, please share! It would be greatly appreciated. ![]()
