For my first order from here I’m planning on getting Ammo and Instant Shine, both to go sizes just so I can test them. Here’s my predicament, I bought Alter Ego from Lovescent awhile back, but it hasn’t really worked for me. Being that Ammo and Alter Ego are so similar should I expect the same results from Ammo and just get something else?
They are simular but not the same. People who have had no results with alter ego report results with AMMO. Here is a thread that will help to understand it better. My only other suggestion is to get it in a to-go bottle first if you are unsure.
Tisha
They share the same main pheromones (Androsterone, none & Androstenol) but Ammo smells better and has a 4th “secret” ingredient. Personally I found both effective but wasn’t too wild about Alter Ego’s scent (too sweet).
Alter Ego enjoyed a lot of popularity a couple years back and certainly hit the mark for a lot of guys. I’ve duplicated the 3-pheromone ratio with chemset pheromones but mixed in my fav cologne, Burberry Weekend, for a classy vibe. Although I really like Ammo I can’t stand smelling the same everyday, and my homebrew AE is a great alternative.
My gut feeling is AE is a bit more edgy and aggressive than Ammo (probably more androstenone), making it more suitable for happy hour than work (unless you’re older). Ammo is a bit more mellow and social with a senuous undercurrent. A great work mix.
Gegogi
What do you think the 4th secret ingrediant is ? I am just curious, I have read that its something from the T series.
Tisha
Hey Tisha,
I’m positive that it’s TAA, but only in Ammon v1.5. I’ve got 1.0, so I just add a couple of IS sprays on top of it.
I think Gegogi is right about the difference in -none amount in AE and Ammo.
I got my first DIHL with Alter Ego, but haven’t really seen anything definite with Ammo as yet. But I work for subtlety and maybe just haven’t hit a “Sweet spot” with it yet. Plus my testing opportunities are few.
For some reason some seemingly similar products seem to work differently with different people, even if the ingredients are pretty much the same.
Also, I certainly don’t think of the AE cover scent as “sweet.” Chikara is “sweet” to me. Again, that may be one of the differences as perceived by both users and “targets.” I’ve met some people who absolutely hate some scents/fragrances. They flee the room or vicinity of anyone wearing them so even if they did react to the pheromones they want nothing to do with whomever is wearing what to them is an awful scent. I think you not only need to consider what the pheromone mix reactions may be, but what the fragarence reactions may be as well.
And go easy on those cover scents. I just saw a news item where some middle school/High School student got suspended when he oversprayed some cologne in a classroom and the teacher had an asthmatic reaction to it. (Even recently saw a related Dilbert cartoon strip about an excessive perfume wearer as well…)
