Bosshank in response to your PM I have not had a chance to try either the Twilight Alchemy Labs products or the Love Potion perfumes. I’ve decided to spend my money on other things (like tried and tested Androtics pheromones) and other methods of self-improvement.
My understanding so far from my reading is that most of the users of the TwAlchemLab/LPP products are female although there are some guys who have tried them as well (like NBully and Rbt here). If I was to use them I would follow the advice of the makers/experts on their forums as to how to properly unleash their ‘magickal’ powers. The BPAL forums seem to have some interesting reviews of some masculine smelling TwAlchemLab products like Lord of the Forest and Master. Bend Over is another one that seems to have ‘interesting’ properties and one or two decent reviews. From memory, Charisma has a lot of positive reviews as well.
The one I am interested in trying at some stage is Caliph’s Beloved (which contains Cinnamon among other things). Indeed, I think the Cinnamon scent could be a powerful aphrodisiac/lust enhancer (only problems are it is a strong skin irritant on some people and some people don’t like its smell
). I want to try it with straight AndrosteRone (or A314), P75, P83, Alpha-Androstenol, Copulins and other useful sex/arousal enhancing pheromones to see how it would fare as a replacement to AndrosteNone. Here is what I have on Caliph’s beloved…
CALIPH’S BELOVED: Stimulates your own sexual energy and incites intense feelings of passion and desire.

sofiaviolet (http://sofiaviolet.livejournal.com/) (July 9, 2006):
“Dixie*** Love Perfume and Caliph’s Beloved***
I must say, Dixie Love Perfume and Caliph’s Beloved are really amazingly effective together.
My boyfriend has been away for a week, and I was hoping to ensure that the sex we had when he got back was really good. This is what I did:
- Two days before you expect to see your partner, carve genital images (one for you and one for your partner) into either side of a fairly squat red candle. Carve two hearts as well, between the genital images. Annoint with Dixie Love Perfume and burn for a short time.
2. One day before you expect to see your partner, annoint the candle with Caliph’s Beloved and burn for a short time.
3. When your partner returns, have sex by candlelight, including the annointed candle. This time, your partner should light the candle.
- Enjoy!
I thought about wearing one of the oils, but neither smelled terribly appealing. I wound up wearing Bearded Lady, which smells very feminine and sexy.
There’s still quite a bit of that candle left. Because it was so effective, I’d like to continue using it. I’m not sure whether to annoint it again or not, though.”

"In Bottle: Plastic and wood
On Skin: Wow, at first it smelled like a toy stright out of the packaging, pure plastic. After it develops on my skin, I get cinnamon, sweet and spicy. It’s also quite musky, it’s actually kind of sexy. There is a very sweet powdery note in the background. I get a similar feeling to Bengal (honey and spice) but much stronger in the spice department. I also feel like ther’s a very faint floral note, maybe tearose? I like the feeling it gives, but I can’t inhale too deeply because the cinnamon is quite overpowering and I actually really dislike cinnamon scents. But if I just left it waft by my nose, or get a slight whiff of it, it’s perfect. And yes, it actaully speeds my heart up and makes me feel a little flushed. "
cuervosueno (June 17, 2006):
"…I found this again the other day and was going to a party where I was supposed to meet a man my friends thought I might be interested in, so I put it on (and a corset, but hey, it was a party celebrating a friend’s five years in sex work). Caliph’s Beloved was gorgeous–it smelled just like cinnamon red hots on me. Yum!
And did it ever work! And not as I expected. While the man my friends wanted to introduce me to was clearly interested, so were most of the other men at the party, despite the fact that some of them have shown no previous interest in me before.
This works so well, that I’d be a little hesitant to use some of the attraction blends that have a warning on them, such as blinding glory of love!"
Sofia Blackthorn (July 18, 2006):
“**This may be the most effective TAL (https://pheromonelabs.com/) I’ve ever tried. fans self It works amazingly well. I think I may be needing a 5 mL.
**
I cannot review its scent because I used it on a candle. I’m not sure what might happen if I used it on myself. I might ignite! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif (http://www.bpal.org/style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif))”
abejita (July 23, 2006):
"The scent: Cinnamon, musk, possibly clove, and something a little sweet. Though I didn’t break out my decant of La Flamme to sniff test, it definitely reminds me of that scent, minus the citrus. Very pleasant. As always with cinnamon, be careful. I have sensitive skin, but this didn’t seem to leave anything more than a very faint redness that went away quickly-- and I did apply heavily.
The effect: I chose to use this because Sexual Energy triggers a big allergic reaction, and Caliph’s Beloved has that bit in its description about stimulating your own energy. After a very stressful week (hell, month) of twelve-hour days of training and classes, plus my chronic illness, my libido was shot to hell. Non-existent. I applied the oil to my wrists, neck, heart, and a tiny bit on my belly, then concentrated on things of an erotic nature. Right away, I felt a buildup of intense warmth concentrated in my diaphragm/solar plexus area, where no oil had been applied. It was a pleasant, interesting sensation, totally unexpected. I have never had the feeling of my energies being stirred up in quite that way. I woke my partner up and the rest of the evening was a stunning success.
The verdict: Wonderful. When my decant is gone, I may very well purchase a full bottle. I felt glow-y for a long time after, too."
Alseides (March 16, 2007):
"Wow, does this stuff work.
I applied some to my base chakra, throat, and heart and rubbed the residue on my wrists about five minutes ago, and already I’m getting butterflies in my stomach. In me, it seems to be inducing a dizzying sort of lustfulness, one where all your inhibitions are gone and it’s a smoldering, seductive passion blossoming in their place. This may be due to the cinnamon-y note that I’m smelling. Hot, indeed. (IMG:**style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif (http://www.bpal.org/style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif))**
I have said many a time that patchouli does not work on me, and that I despise it, and I do. Luckily, there are other notes in this scent-wise that seem to keep it from going to hell on me. But then again, this isn’t meant for use as a perfume. I must emphasize the DIZZYING part, though that may be due to a sniff of White Light before applying this - I feel… not tired, but my head is in the clouds, so to speak. That said, Caliph’s Beloved definitely delivers. I have yet to see if it intensifies over time…
ETA: It does. It even disrupted my sleep.
In the best possible way, of course. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif (http://www.bpal.org/style_emoticons/default/happy.gif))"
GirlAndroid (May 27, 2007):
"A bottle of Caliph’s beloved arrived a few days ago, it’s joined my small collection of bottles.
In the bottle it reminds me of … a liquid version of spices you might use in cinnamon-heavy gingerbread? I can see where cinnamon rolls might come into it … mmm… (:
Wet on skin, it’s lovely and warm and sweet and spicy. Dry, it’s all that with a smooth creaminess mixed in too …
DH got a waft of this, to him it’s a cooler weather night time kind of thing - it might get a little cloying (warm sweet honey?) in warmer weather?
I do like the mood this evokes, and it’s passed a few tests here (: Very glad I have a bottle of this!"
hayet (July 3, 2007):
"I love the scent of this one- it has a lot of similarities to Black Phoenix. There’s definitely more cinnamon/clove in this one than BP, but there’s a hint of rose underneath, and a whole slew of other stuff I can’t identify.
But it works. I can’t wear it on my body (cinnamon=nemesis), but having it scent my hair all day has left me very eager to see the DH this evening indeed!"

yeahbutnobut (April 1, 2007):
“Oddly, I think Sybaris smells a bit like Anthelion, with violet instead of lavender. I think there’s clove in both scents, maybe tonka too?
I’ve yet to find a BPAL that smells like Lionheart. That is such a beautiful scent.
Radiance of Ra, obviously, smells very much like Ra (the Excolo), but with a little Ahathoor.
Queen of the Nile reminds me of Black Lotus with added musk. Temple Egyptian also reminds me strongly of Black Lotus.
I think that Wicked, Phantom and La Petite Mort remind me of Arabian Nights.
Amor smells like #20 Love Oil without the spices, or a fruitier Seraglio.
I think I got a slight Hymn to Pan scent (without the lavender) from Beltane 06, but I may be wrong…
Also, I adore the scent of Caliph’s Beloved. Can’t find anything with that same cinnamon-amber-musk-incense scent to it (despite a few passing similarities in some oils). But I can never wear CB as an actual perfume because of it’s incredibly sexual properties, unless I want some of that (IMG:**http://www.bpal.org/style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif (http://www.bpal.org/style_emoticons/default/icon_wink.gif))

Twilight Alchemy Lab's 'Caliph's Beloved' (Twilight Alchemy Lab's 'Caliph's Beloved')
tisha23 (July 6, 2007):
“I have used ‘Caliph’s Beloved’] and I like it.
I am sure Visionary is aware of this but I will mention it anyway so others dont get confused. There are no pheromones (Twilight Alchemy Lab's 'Caliph's Beloved') in Caliphs beloved. When people are referring to TAL they mean Twilight Alchemy Lab. This is a potion and one that works amazingly well in my opinion.
Visionary I think it would work great on a man in fact I think its more of a mans scent. I have no problem with cinnamon but you will feel it when it makes contact with your skin. Sort of tingles. If you get it try it out on rougher areas of your body like outer arms, back of hand and see if you get rashy. I sometimes wear scents that bother my skin in a necklace pendant and they do have some of those that would look good on men. In fact I wonder if they would be useful with pheromones?
Here is one that would look cool on a guy
The Celtic Wolf Perfume Locket - MWArt.com
Most come with little pads so you can change the scent when you want.

Twilight Alchemy Lab's 'Caliph's Beloved' (Twilight Alchemy Lab's 'Caliph's Beloved')
tisha23 (July 8, 2007):
“…I would say the cinnamon (top note) has a throw of about 5 or 6 feet. But at 3 to 4 you get the best results because the (middle note) kicks in. I get a sweet rose as the (bottom note) but its very subtle and you only seem to notice it briefly and once in a while.
It is designed to arouse the wearer more than those around them but it is a attractive smell that will have people around you going HMMMM. I felt I was noticed more when I wore it. I bought a sample bottle and it only has a few applications in it but I felt it did arouse my husband but not to the extent that cops do.
Caliphs scent never makes me feel peeved off no matter how much I smell. I feel slightly aroused and content from the scent. It worked much the same on my husband when I was wearing it. He got all snuggly and content. He seemed to touch me more in passing during the day.
Comparativly a little bit of none makes me feel very aroused and makes me think of sex right away. Ok this is embarrassing and TMI but it makes me want to rub up against my SO and touch him everywhere. He dosnt even have to be wearing it and he dosnt wear any kind of scent normally but I have sprayed a little Turn Up The Heat (Turn Up the Heat – Sensual Pheromone Spray Cologne for Men - Alpha A314) on his shirt a few times. It also gives me a feeling of urgency like “I want sex now”. Caliphs dosnt give me that urgent feeling. I feel more content and open to sex but I dont feel hot and needy.
I would say None wins hands down but I also think the two would compliment each other nicely. I think it would be a very sensual combo.
I do have a few EO lockets that I use once in a while but I never put pheromones in them and didnt even think of it till my other post when I mentioned it. I do like them and I wouldnt say the throw of the scent is more than if your wearing the scent but it will cause strong sporatic throws as you move around. Its kinda hard to explain but bare with me. As you move about when wearing it, it gives small bursts of scent so someone around you wouldnt get a consistant level sniff. You bend over or turn quick and they get a sudden “HMMM whats that smell” and then its gone till you move around again. Its sort of like teasing. If your sitting still say at a desk or watching a movie the smell wont be noticed by others but as soon as you lean over to grab the popcorn the pendant swings and the scent wafts out. I am not sure how it will work with pheromones because inside the locket there is a little sponge that you pore the scent on. I dont know how pheromones would react on a sponge. I think the locket would probably be weaker then wearing the pheromones but again they could compliment each other nicely. Wear some and put some in locket.
