I don’t know how many aussies are still ordering, but lately I’ve had to hold off re-stocking for the current exchange rates. Anyone else finding the same problems in being able to afford getting pheromones for where the currency has gone?
have no fear, i regularly trade the aud/usd pair. there are big problems ahead for the u.s. economy and europe is about to get hit hard. let the rate cuts sort themselves out, there is at least one more round on the way and people will continue to ditch the aussie/kiwi pairs but once people find out that the comex market is about to collapse they will want to take actual possession of their gold, not the paper representing it and then the aussie will be in good shape.
in the last ten days i’ve longed the aussie from 62 up to 69 and shorted it back down to 66 for a tidy profit but due to the commodity nature of your currency, and a legitimate slow down in commodity orders due to the global recession, you are one of the first ones affected.
Yes i can empathesise with you, for i also have been holding back a little with my US inports.
For instance if we were to spend US $60.00 inc postage on an order today, it would cost us AUS $89.22. ![]()
I’m currently in the same situation…not so long ago 1 GBP would get you 2 Dollars..now it’s only 1.5 dollars. Its pretty much the reason I havent restocked on my putatives and experimones.
If you can hang on till late Jan. when the quarterly economic numbers begin to come out the dollar’s gonna lose another nickel. It’s gonna take a while to unfold. The new administration can not stop it. The best they can do is to slow the decline and maybe raise the floor where this thing bottoms out.
This depression is something that we going have to deal with for the next few years. Our old ways are going to work less and less. Whatever we want to do, we’re going to need to use some ingenuity. Find a work around.
How would it affect freight costs to have an Aussie group order shipped international freight in one package and then have it distributed by domestic carrier? The gals at the store would probably make each persons order in a seperate bundle.
If anybody comes to the states, what would aussie customs say about a suitcase full of bubble wrapped pheromones?
There’s always a way.
OoohYahhh
Whoa… what happened to the strength of the British pound?
The pound has always been 2 to 1 to the US dollar for most of my life, and the US dollar is weaker than usual right now. Has the UK’s economy been harder hit the US’? I read the BBC site every now and then, but I haven’t much “front page” news about excessive slowdowns in the UK economy.
How painless is it to receive packages in Australia from New Zealand or Cook Islands, Terry?
Is it faster than cheaper then US? Are customs taxes any lower from them?
Those are two regions we may be able to have ship points from in our consumer projects (like Ammo), that’s why I ask.
What would be tougher is having multiple ship points for the advanced items we offer here. Due to the customization required, it’s really quite involved to make ExperiMones, custom strength putatives, etc. Probably couldn’t have multiple ship points for those, as much as I’d like them.
Do you have to pay customs tax on products shipped from the EU, as well, btw?
We’ve been researching multiple ship points for international folks for our consumer projects (Ammo, etc.). I’m wondering what the best ship point might be for the bulk of Europe.
I was figuring Ireland might be ok, since they seemed to be one of the most eager countries to do business right now. Don’t know what the ship times or customs fees would be, though.
Trying to figure this currency exhange thing out, as well as ways to reduce shipping and customs costs. This is just initial research. A solution like this would take a long while to implement… but… you gotta start somewhere.
Anybody here get packages from Hong Kong?
How fast do they get to you, and how much tax do you pay?
Here in the US, I’ve noticed that a package to Hong Kong can get to me in just a few days. I pay no customs tax. It seems like I get things from Hong Kong almost as fast as I get things shipped from the US. Sometimes faster!
The kicker is that even though it goes through our postal system, it’s fully trackable. That’s a STRANGE, since you can’t fully track anything sent packages sent from the US itself. You get inferior “delivery confirmation” instead. I even researched postal rates once from Hong Kong, and they were very, very cheap. Yet somehow the do “magic” with the US postal, that you can’t get by dealing with USPS.
So from this end, from the west coast of the US, it looks like Hong Kong is quite an impressive “ship from” point. Maybe it serves other regions as well as it does this one.
Comments?
From what I understand its pretty quick and not very expensive to ship things between Australia and New Zealand, though I’m not sure about the Cook Islands. Considering there are probably more people in Australia that use pheromones than in New Zealand, would it be better to have a distribution point in Australia for most of the standard and double strength pheromones?
I know that would help with time as far as shipping (though I’m still impressed that it only ever takes 6 days for a package to arrive for me) but not if or how that could help with costs, maybe bring the shipping costs per order down a bit for each customer. Dunno… Australia is probably a good distribution point for much of Asia too.
(Think I started something here) ![]()
Hi Jasmin,
-
within the EU there is no customs tax but for all products SOLD from within in the EU there has to be paid VAT which is around 20% in most EU countries:
Value added tax - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia -
for the different kinds of taxation read this:
HM Revenue & Customs
Quick summary:
If an EU customer buys from outside EU he has to pay
customs+import VAT+Excise duty (on alcohol and perfume - i don’t know if that would apply to your products depending on declaration)
If an EU customer buys from within the EU he has to pay domestic VAT (which is the same amount like Import VAT ~20% - see above) - i am not sure if he would have to pay excise duty on top!?
hope this stuff doesn’t confuse you too much ![]()
I’ve only ordered something from New Zealand once and it came within a few days so yea it is a little faster than the US. Keep in mind 1 NZ Dollar = 0.85 Australian Dollars = 0.59 US Dollars…

I don’t know how they can afford to do ‘Free Worlwide Delivery’ though.
I paid just over $160 NZD and there was no customs charge or shipping charge to Eastern Australia (they were using just the standard NZ postal service and not DHL or anything that fancy).
Below is another Pharmacy site that gives shipping rates from NZ (keep in mind these are in NZ dollars)…

The UK is gonna get hit hard in the next few years with recession, with most experts predicting the UK to be hardest hit in the whole of europe. The economy looks like its starting to stagnate, hopefully the recent interest rate cuts will get things moving again and lower inflation enough so that the pound is worth something again.
Thats quite an interesting idea, having different distribution points. I’m assuming this Would this solely be for consumer products rather than advanced products?
Well Lady Jasmin you ask about people getting their phero packages in Hong kong? How about in Singapore? Do you want to know? I have make 4 orders from Androtics before & i’m proceeding with my 5th order soon ![]()
And yes blast the dreaded currency rates, the SGD(Singapore Dollar) is not too good when it is converted to USD(US Dollar)> 1.00 SGD = 0.6685 USD![]()
