Well, from what I understand about oxytocin, it seems to me that the natural ways of promoting its production in other people (and yourself!) - ie touch, kino, kissing etc are far preferable to any of the viable alternatives.
Also, I am concerned that attemting to use oxytocin for its “self effects” is maybe masking or self-medicating a problem/condition that really needs proper medical investigation and would certainly not promote it for that purpose.
In 2009, I published a book about oxytocin and at that time, there was OxyCalm and Liquid Trust. I did interviews with the guys behind both the products for my blog (search site:hugthemonkey.com “liquid trust” or oxycalm to find those). LT seemed completely dodgy.
In the past year, a new product, Oxytocin Factor, came out as a nasal spray or sublingual drops. I’ve been hosting oxytocin parties for 10 to 15 people at a time where we test the product. I definitely experience effects consistent with oxytocin from it and people at the parties seem to like it. I also have a podcast with the creator of OF on Hug the Monkey.
I think it’s good enough that I’ve started referring people to Oxytocin Factor, with the caveat that you should only use it occasionally.
