Cinco de Mayo hits with Ammo + IShine: slow start, then a fast escalation

This year’s Cinco de Mayo, I went out with one of my interest groups—the movie/media art group, to be exact—to a lively Mexican restaurant pretty close to me. They had recorded mariachi music early on, then switched to contemporary Latin/reggaeton songs later on. It being Cinco de Mayo, I was hoping to dance salsa with the ladies in the group, since dancing venues are perfect pheromone test sites. But there was no dance floor. Oh well.

I put on the following before heading out:
Ammo: 2x on neck, 1 each
IShine: 2x on wrists, 1 each

Self effects
Since it’s been a few months, if not more, since the last time I used pheromones, the self effects were quite strong. On the way there, I had a bit of “Who da man! I’m da man!” feeling. It also made me visually drawn to rows of glowing streetlights, but this seems common for me whenever I’m under the influence of pheromones (or just got laid, hehe).

At the table
It’s the usual group dinner: sitting around, talking, laughing. I notice one difference: when I talk, whether to ask a question, respond to something, or say something funny, the overall volume at the table goes down a little. My “That’s what she said!” joke had the whole table cracking up. There’s one Hispanic girl (see below) who was particularly interesting in hearing where I took salsa lessons, although the dance school was nowhere near her. Other than that, no real hits. Or maybe just IOR’s (indicators of respect), rather than IOI’s.

Girl in the parking lot
Demographic: Hispanic, early 30’s
Hours pass. We pay up and head out into warm breezy night. I’m talking to a few people (mostly guys) walking near me, until I hear someone shouting: “Hey, wait up!” I turn around, and it’s that girl. She catches up with us, and joins our conversation, directing a bulk of the statements at me. We banter a little. As I’m about to turn toward my car, she says: “What, where’s my hug?!” I decide to be conservative, and give her a one-arm friendly hug; after all, I just met her. I did it to avoid inadvertently showing neediness, plus it was in front of at least half the group. She does a “hug intensifier”—as opposed to “hug buffers” I used to get many years ago—by rubbing her hair against my face a little. I do not see her hugging anyone else, not even her female friend. As we part ways, she says: “Save me a dance at other events.” I smile and say “will do!” in a pretend business-like tone, and get in my car.

TL;DR version

  1. I get a noticeable boost in confidence as a self effect, since I haven’t used pheromones in a while.
  2. During dinner with my media art group, people at the table seem to pay more attention to me, laugh harder at my jokes, and respond slightly better to my statements than usual.
  3. As we’re walking back to our cars, one Hispanic girl in the group offers me a hug completely out of the blue, and playfully flirts with me a little. She doesn’t do it with anyone else there.

Concluding thoughts
I’d say the dinner conversations were mostly IOR’s. It’s a very nice group, and I’m somewhat well-known there, due to having danced with ladies, in and out of the group, at group events. So it wasn’t out of character. But the Hispanic girl in the parking lot, now that was a hit and an IOI. The hug felt pretty good; she must have manipulated it somehow. I’ll definitely take her suggestion and try to dance with her at another event, and see where that take me. I’ll probably pick swing over salsa, since it’s more likely to be a new dance to her, so she’ll be more impressed by it.
