So I went to that ‘‘job fair’’ I talked about in post #299. I basically used the same recipe as in the interview described in post #284, without any increase of IShine because I opted not to risk overdampening the IGentleman/A314 in a business setting without you guys’ advice on this. I applied the IHonesty and the two last drops of A314 right before exiting the car, once I arrived on site. I am paranoid about the self-effects of IHonesty, so I try not to have it on when I am in a confined space like a car. With A314, I had trouble obtaining 4 identical drops. At home, I got two good drops, plus a mega-drop (equivalent to 1.5 drops). In the car, I got a flood (equivalent to 2 drops). So that’s a total of 5.5 drops equivalent and it was the highest dose I have ever tried. Note that I was aiming for 4 drops. Once again I got mega drops even if the vent was positionned properly. I have a theory why this happens. I’ll do some testing in coming day to see where it leads me.
I dressed up very formally with a shirt, tie, nice pants and clean shoes. It’s spring here, so I was very comfortable without a coat or jacket outside. I expected a crazy line-up at that event, like each year, but I was the fourth person in line. I found it akward because I saw some people entering through another door, so I hollered a female security guard (lady #1) who was standing outside the gate and I asked her wether we were waiting at the right place for the visitor’s entrance. She was a petite brunette with long hair, very delicate and feminine, 6/10, with a curveless but nice body, she came quite close to me to answer and she had very beautiful grey eyes. She confirmed it was the right place and that the other entrance was for the employers. She made light chitchat with me for two minutes and I found her quite charming, she then returned to her duties because there were some people incoming. Later, as the line grew to a crazy size, I caught her looking at me several times. I’d dare say it was a HIT. On the other hand, I usually ain’t Mr. Social, but I guess that with the combined effect of IGentleman and ISHine a social side did shine through. I chatted with five different persons in the line to pass the time. Three guys and two seniors. There were no nice ladies at the front, sadly. Those people told me a lot about their past jobs, experiences and such, none of them was looking for the same type of work as me, so they weren’t competition.
A newspaper’s team were taking pictures of the line-up. A local TV crew made their way to the head of the line to get comments from the persons who were there first. The first person in line declined the offer, he said he was tv-shy. The second and third persons, a senior couple, said ‘‘You should ask this guy (i.e. me), he’s well-spoken and he’s dressed way better than us.’’. I mean the old lady was wearing pink plastic Crocs, what was she thinking going job-hunting with those on? So the TV lady (mid 30s, a bit chubby, 4/10, maybe 5 ft 1) asked me if I would mind answer a few questions for the camera. I said why not. Six months ago, I would litterally have ran away from that. I have lost a lot of weight, I went from XL shirts to M shirts and from size 40 pants to size 36 pants, so my general self-confidence, on the physical aspect, has boomed in last months. Also, I figured it might be nice being on TV for my job-hunting publicity because head hunters or employers might see me and know exactly what type of job I am looking for. So I answered the questions and some excerpts were shown at noon on TV, including the excerpt I was hoping for. My girlfriend said I looked very ‘down to business’ and ‘serious’ and that I should have smiled a bit more, but she said it was overall ok. Maybe that’s where a second IShine (2X) might have helped (lol). The first journalist’s question, I answered it in a dead-serious and a much too direct way, so after the filming was done, I asked the lady to edit that part out should they put me on TV. I’m glad they did edit it. For reference, she asked me ‘‘Why were you among the first ones in line this morning, do you think such an event has its importance?’’, and I started my sentence with ‘‘I arrived early because I did not want to spend the whole day here waiting in line…’’, I was definitely in executive mode, but maybe it might have been a bit harsh for my public image. The other questions went well. The lady then asked if she could take pictures of me with her digital photo camera also. I accepted. The lady was very thankful. After that, the TV crew went on down the line and interviewed a few other persons. They also filmed me as I went through the turnstile at the entrance of the fair. I thought it would be rather cool that people I haven’t seen in months, and who don’t know that I lost like 75 pounds, will be like WOW when they see me on TV, lol.
The first booth I went straight to was for a company (let’s call it XYZ) that I’d very much like to work for. The lady behind the counter was quite young, she was a long-haired blonde (lady #2), she was 24 at the most, with a large smile and incredible eyes, she was 7/10 at least. I was her first visitor of the day. I told her about my background and she came real close to me when I handed her my resume. Close like a foot between our chests which is quite close for total strangers by society’s standards, especially in a HR context. Apart from the close range, I did not notice her blinking an eye during the minutes I have talked to her and she was doing what I consider to be a lesser-known, very often overlooked, yet very powerful IOI: she would switch her focus from my left eye to my right eye in rapid succession with eyes wide open, which, in my book, is the equivalent of ‘must f*** now!’. I had no problem telling her about my job experiences and all during that time but I had to concentrate not to get a boner. She told me about all the job opportunities they had that might fit my interest or profile and she seemed almost sorry to tell me that they were only doing their hiring through a given hired head hunter. She was not talking to me with a formal professional voice, it was not sultry, lol, but it was low-tone and quite intimate, like she did not want her colleagues around to hear it all. She gave me the number of the booth of the head hunter and told me that I should go there and introduce myself. I took her hand to shake it, and altough I’m a firm believer of firm handshakes, on this one I opted to take the hand in mine, like a Casanova and I slowly and gently shook it twice. There was definite sexual tension in the air. When I told her I hoped to see her again soon, she said ‘‘Yes, me too, that would be nice’’ with a smile. I couldn’t help but give her a subtle eye wink on my way out. The next person went to her, and her tone shifted to normal professional formal tone with a more than reasonable distance between her and the subject. Confirmed! Hard, hard hit on that beautiful lady! And she hit me hard too, to be honest. I figured I had a very nice day ahead of me if all my contacts were gonna be like this one. I just don’t understand with this turned out so sexual, especially on such a young lady, maybe it was the IS/IH combo…
So I went to the head hunter’s booth that lady #2 referred me to. I talked to a female in her 40s. I introduced myself and I handed out my resume, I told her about my background and my interest for company XYZ. She started flipping through my resume and she discreetly said something to a senior-executive-looking man who was behind the counter and had been busy minutes before. He was free now, he immediately took notice of me, I gave him a firm handshake and gave more depth to the information I had already given to the lady. He seemed interested in my credentials. I was talking very solidly. I noticed I was squinting my eyes a bit and emphasizing a lot by lowering my eyebrows from time to time like to pierce through his poker face. He told me they would contact me after they fully analyze my resume. Let’s stay tuned folks. Maybe I’ll work with that lady #2 someday
.
Then I went to another company’s booth (let’s call it ABC). I made an interview in that company in last october (post #134). That interview went very well at the time, but they did not hire me and I was kinda wondering why. Today, I had the occasion to talk with the HR director I had met on that occasion. He instantly recognized me. He explained to me that the position was given to someone who was already working for the same company but moved in from another city and that he had all the right experience. I was kind relieved to hear that, in a way, but still it’s sad, it was my dream job. They are not looking for more positions at the moment, but he told me he’d sure consider me if something comes up because my profile is interesting for them.
I went to see another head hunter’s booth, there were three ladies, one in her 60s, and two in their 20s. I queued in front of one of the 20ers. She was wearing a zebra-pattern stretch legging with a formal businesswear top (w-w-what?!). While she was talking to the folks that were there before me, she was striking a pose and I could see a very blatant camel toe. They say, when you speak to someone, imagine them in their underwears, I had no trouble doing more than that with that one. I did not hit her, she did not hit me, but I sure was very relaxed.
I did not get a lot of signs of blatant interest from the other companies, but I wasn’t really interested in those either, so that’s ok. In some cases, I was merely fishing to know what the company is about, just in case. Some social / professional exercise if you will AND mones testing. There were some nice lady visitors in the place, I made sure to make some flybys or stand-nears with a bunch of ladies, I did not notice anything striking. There is a mone effect I would have enjoyed to get on that day, it is the ‘‘crowd parting like the dead sea’’ effect, but it did not happen, I had to work my way through the crowd. But that’s fair game. After seeing all I wanted to see, I made a few more passes to lurk around some female visitors, but nothing much happened and I grew tired of coming across the same persons over and over again, so I left the place.
I went to the supermarket afterwards to grab an item or two. I removed the tie, but I was still very well-dressed. A lady in her mid-30s, 5/10, clearly switched side in a double-width aisle to crash her cart right in front of me probably pretending to be looking for something. I stood in place to provide longer cloud exposition. I did not go farther than that, though. Funny, still.
During the time I was at the fair, I had missed a call. This ex-colleague who now owns a business (ref. post #250) told me he was like a week away from making me an offer. That’s probably because he got a call for references from the other job I’m looking into (ref. post #284)… I like it when people fight for me (lol).
I notice I’ve been called ‘sir’ a lot during the day, wether at the fair or at the supermarket… Even at the child daycare which never happened before.
In the evening, my kids were hyper affectionate.
Let’s end this with words of wisdom: ‘‘He who sees light at the end of the tunnel… Hope it’s not the train, he must!’’
Cool day overall.
