So I know I’ve read about using different perfumes as covers for the stinky ones, but what about scented lotions? I am allergic to most perfumes so I can’t wear many, but I have a lotion called Exact Friction of the Stars, heavy on the vanilla scent, which I absolutely love to wear. So do you think a heavy vanilla lotion would work as well as a cover as a vanilla based perfume? It’s such a strong scent it usually lasts all day and I can even still lightly smell it on my skin the next morning.
I asked this in a PM to Tish also, but she is so busy (understandably so) so I thought I would see what the experts on the boards think!
Most of the instant line fades down to barely detectable and doesn’t really need a cover, I’d apply those after you’ve used the lotion. The only real stinker is lam. The lotion might slow diffusion a bit but it’s ok to layer over it, just make sure you give the lam a good 10 minutes or more to dry down and then use your lotion.
I can say that lotions will cover also, I believe it will make the pheromones diffuse much slower as well…I personally love vanilla based fragrances/scents. haven’t used any with the cops products though, I tend to stick with what I know to work for sure such as pink sugar. But I am willing to bet if your vanilla is heavy it will work…do let me know though. so sorry I couldn’t be more helpful
Scented lotions do work. I find that vanilla works really well (most people love the smell of vanilla, specially guys). However, other very foodie scent do the job well too
You could try the lotion version of the perfume Angel by Thierry Mugler. The perfume & lotion smell SO good! There is choclate, honey, a bunch of delicious, intoxicating, and heavy ( but not too heavy) smells. They sell it at Macy’s Sephora, online, etc.
Also, what about essential oils? They are VERY strong smelling and there is tons to choose from. Plus, different ones help with different moods. Like, Lavendar relaxes you. I actually read about some study that said in a test men preferred the smell of Lavendar & Pumpkin Pie. Also, for essential oils you could try Rose, Cinnamon, Jasmin, whatever. Go to like a Whole foods or Wild Oats and in the beauty section there will be like a rack of them and some brands will even write what they “do” on them. Aura Cacia is my favorite.
Oh! & btw, I wouldn’t rub the essential oils over the pheromones, I would dab them in spots near them and wherever. They are strong so people would still smell them without you dumping them over the pheromones. You could even dab some on the ends of your hair & prevent split ends! Rosemary is good for the hair but, you might not like the smell but just experiment!
